General Info
The Soul Exchange {SE} is a feature added to empires and puzzles as an attempt to partially solve the āduplicate heroā issue that most long-term players have.
The feature allows you to exchange some of your excess Legendary Heroes {5*} for one from a list of options.
The list of heroes is the same for everyone and is split into 3 tiers of āgoodnessā {or percieved goodness by SGG really}. Each tier costs more āsoulsā to exchange; 1 soul = 1 hero:
Tier 1 = 10 souls
Tier 2 = 15 souls
Tier 3 = 20 souls
How it works!
Pretty simple really; the Soul Exchange will appear as a āpop-upā on your Base screen, and remain there for 2 days.
Open the Soul Exchange by tapping the pop-up
Select the heroes youāre trading in.
If you select too few, you will be unable to choose the desired heroā¦ vice versa, if you choose too many for the desired hero, youāll be prompted to return to ādeselectā a couple of them.
Select the hero you want from the list
Hit OK & confirm your choices.
And thatās it! You are now the owner of a level 1-1 copy of the selected hero!

Yes the list is identical for everyone
Yes the Soul Exchange will return down the track {based on SGGās communications}. Itās unconfirmed how often but they indicated āa fewā times per year (so 3-4 times). SGG also indicated that the heroes available would change each appearance.
All heroes recieved will be at 1-1, regardless of the level of heroes you put INTO the exchange.
You will be prompted to confirm an additional time if you have selected a hero which is levelled (partially or fully).
You need to have āunlockedā a hero before you can select it in the exchangeā¦ Favourited heroes will still be unselectable so no need to worry about accidentally picking your +20 LBād Alfrike! This can be done from the āselectionā screen in the Soul Exchange, so still be a little careful.
You will NOT get the costume for a hero unless it specifically states you will get it in the Soul Exchange
{Example in #1, it shows Costume Horghall so you get the costume and hero. Rana however does NOT show her costume so you donāt get it.}

one of the recent updates mustāve already put the hero list into the game APP, to be activated on 28 Feb. (guess, thatās how it worksā¦)
For me, it is more of a guessā¦ & personally hope that the list is not the same as that of beta, bcoz, I donāt want anyone from that list.
I just want to be able to plan aheadā¦ soā¦ every 3 monthsā¦ every 4 months? What I donāt want is to hear on launch dayā¦ we still donāt know how often we are going to run it.
It would be great if you put at least a very good purple on the list as most of the alliance use purple tank, please SG, at least for onceā¦ make us feel special. Thank you
Anyone else already running 4 x TC20 for the next time SE comes around? Getting S1 5* dupes is my main concern now. I need to get 15 more for the next premium hero (after the one Iām getting tomorow). Hopefully SE wonāt turn out to be another hoaxs featuring second hand heroes in the top tierā¦ Iām not expecting Xnolphod, Penolite or Quentin, but Iāll be fine with the likes of c.Kadi, c.Marja, Miki, Skadi, Frig, Odin and many, many others. Iād even be happy with Evelyn or G.Panther.
Iām excited to finally get something out of this SE.
Just a made up list for the next SE
10 souls- red hood/ jade/ frosth/ akkorog/ victor
15 souls- gefjon/ the hatter/ misandra/ neith/ Dr moreau
20 souls- mitsuko/ eiora and fluffy/ king arthur/ odin/ malicna
My gut feeling is that SG has set the standard for each tier (which is what we saw in beta and likely what we will see tmr). I am not expecting the quality of the heroes in each tier to change much, at least for the next few rotations.
I doubt if they would include heroes that occupy the defense lineup among top teams at the moment (c.Kad, Frigg, Odin etc.)ā¦ As SG has pointed out on a few occasions that they want variety in defense teams (and this is also why Telluria, Vela and c.Krampus got nerfed). If so, then I think it is unlikely they will make those heroes available in SE any time soon or otherwise it is moving in the opp direction. I wish am wrong, as I am craving for c.Kad and Frigg myself as well. But I wonāt put my hope up.
Likewise, I will be very satisfied with an elemental def down hero or a titan specialist, both of which donāt really appear in defense that much, but super helpful in offense and hitting titans.
They need to stop being stingy and give us something useful for the SE. They canāt just keep giving us the useless heroes all the time. Itās practically insulting us if they keep doing that.
Hereās the problem with the SE as well, since I know now the main purpose is for players to clear their rosters.
If letās say you want a guardian chameleon that is worth 10 souls and you pick him, thatās it. You canāt clear anymore of your roster. Then this pretty much defeats the purpose of a player trying to clear his roster.
Maybe thatās why they also strategically placed chameleon in the 10 souls category. Choose chameleon and you get a strong support yet unconventional hero, but you donāt clear as much as your roster. And cham is considered the āweakerā titan support. So either way the player gets the shorter end of the stick. But itās likeā¦for goodnessā sakes man. Do they have to calculate to such a degree, that it comes out as being petty?
