But noticed only now that her cleansing shenaningans can’t be dispelled, which makes her much more useful than her vanilla version. Elemental defense down on three is also great.
People seem to be missing that while she indeed has the elemental def down, it only works on ice heroes. So while still useful on titans, she won’t replace Evelyn completely on regular offense, as she’ll only amplify nature damage on the blue hero in defense.
Undispellable cleanse for 3 turns is, however, a very nice addition. But having pulled her, I am still torn whether it’s better to focus the emblem path on her Rogue version or Sorc version (costume). Rogue feels like a better talent of the two. Luckily that dilemma is 9 tonics away.
It is really strange that she only debuffs blue with a niche EDD. She is such a hard to utilize hero because of this. Regular Francine can be used anywhere, while the costumed one is really limited to titans. And I assume sorcerer/rogue don’t compliment each other as well. I rather get phileas fogg at this point
Also instead of what she got now, I wished this time they actually inversed her skills and make it so that enemies get their buffs dispelled over 3 turns. That would be so much practical than a niche EDD on blues
Y’all are getting too hung up on her elemental defense down. A great skill for those without Evelyn, Almur, or Phileas, but aside from that…
… It’s just a cherry on top
Imo, it’s not even her main purpose. If it were, she would be lowering an amount much higher, closer to Phileas.
It’s akin to her original “extra damage vs ice”. Sure, it can make a difference, but too niche to plan specifically toward. Most of the time, it really won’t even come into play [at all].
Her real draw is the undispellable 3 turn cleanse.
That is amazing (imo) and why I’m pumped I have her (got two) Actually gonna level both of em tbh, as cleanse is [still] a rare enough skill as it is. Let alone an undispellable, three turn cleanse; that just doesn’t even exist
(Sure, would’ve rather got Victor, or Vanda’s, costume for variety sake, but imo, all of these 5* are well worthy of dupes - so when in Rome )
Without lowering more than 54%, her EDD is essentially lesser than in every way (aside from those rare instances where four, or more, enemies are ice). I mean, even the duration is a turn shorter.
Therefore, not her primary purpose (imo) less she’s your only nature EDD. I consider her undispellable, three turn cleanse much more valuable.
At the level of my alliance (let’s say top 10), I never face any dispellers in wars, though. So whether her cleanse is dispellable (regular Francine) or undispellable (costumed Francine) makes no difference. Which is great, so I have no reason to try to pull Francine (again).
If you already owned Francine prior to this, and already have a nature elemental defense debuffer, then yeah, her upgrade is a step up [at best]. Similar to Vanda vs C. Vanda; the extra turn is great, but the original isn’t too far off, that it’d be considered a significant enough loss. C. Victor is the only one of these that went from pretty bad → must have
But imo, undispellable is still huge. I face dispellers every. single. day., and that ain’t ever going away. & The only way that Francine’s cleanse is even worth a damn is if it can cover you those full three turns. + Well, cleansers are a rarity alone in themselves.
Although, I didn’t have Francine prior to this, so imma be happy either way
Some of these heroes are applying the same elemental defense so as far as I recall they do not stack.
But someone who pulled her can confirm.
Of course it can stack with defense down.
Stacks with Frigg (she’s normal def down) / doesn’t stack with Fogg/Evelyn (actually overwrites Fogg’s better def down, ‘luckily’ on blue heroes only).
Just pulled her but I never have much need of cleansing and I have a LB Almur with a higher EDD so I see her on the bench for a very long time.
Edit: I’m so dumb sometimes. I was looking at her 1/1 card for the special. Of course I see now that she’s equal to Almur in EDD. With a higher attack stat and special attack, though with LB some of his stats are higher.
All things being equal I gusss she would replace him in the titan stack but since it’s a marginal improvement I won’t be prioritizing her I think.
Is the undispellable nature of the cleanse, at Fast, OP? Costumed Francine looks awesome & ive got 30 days to get her. I wrote a full review for her, here. Thank you!
Her benefit is she gets THREE rounds of cleansing. So you don’t have to hold that cleanse/special if you see a Frigg or Morel or whatever close to firing. You can launch her special and let the undispellable cleanse take care of their ailment in a turn or two (or three) without worry.
