 Defense Up At the start of each battle, this Hero gets +20% defense for 6 turns.
In battles with multiple waves, the effect is refreshed at the beginning of each wave.

When this character casts their Special Skill, they cleanse the newest status ailment from all allies.

  • The caster and nearby allies get +54% attack for 4 turns.
  • The caster and nearby allies get +36% critical chance for 4 turns.
  • The caster and nearby allies regenerate 860 HP over 4 turns.
  • Elemental Link gives all Fire allies +15% attack and +15% defense for 6 turns. This effect can’t be dispelled.

Past HotM are available from a number of locations depending on their age.

As Ares has been released for >24 months, he can ONLY be summoned in the Tavern of Legends Portal.
He can also be “Trained” using the Hero Academy Level 10.

Tavern of Legends
HotM’s which are >12 months of age are added to the summons pool in the Tavern of Legends Portal.

Hero Academy Level 10 Retraining
HotM’s which are >12 months of age are also added as a possible outcome of Hero Academy Level 10 Retraining.

Subject to change as additional heroes are added to the Portal.

It’s important to remember that the Tavern of Legends Portal has the lowest odds for a specific hero of ANY portal… No amount of summoning will guarantee a Featured Hero.

You have a 0.25% chance of summoning a specific Featured Past HotM from the Tavern of Legends Portal (0.0125% for a specific Non-Featured).

On average, in a 10-pull, you have a 2.47% chance of summoning a particular Featured Past HotM (0.12% chance for a specific Non-Featured & 12.27% chance for ANY Past HotM).

But that statistic can lead our minds astray in exactly how our odds play out as we continue summoning.

Some useful insights:

(Each 30x Summons costs 8,000 gems or ~$79.99 USD).

  • 1 WON’T get ANY Past HotM
  • 23 WON’T get a specific Featured Past HotM
  • 83 WON’T geta a specific Non-Featured Past HotM

If 1 Million players each completed 10,000 summons, spending ~$25,000 USD:

  • 1 WON’T get ANY Past HotM
  • 1 WON’T get a specific Featured Past HotM

I got him in the early months of Atlantis when he was one of the featured heroes. Even if he was not seen as the prime tank when I got him, I maxed him still and placed all my emblems on him, making him my tank since 2018 until March 2020 when I got Telluria. Now, he is retired and barely gets any action whatsoever, he is not even considered even against Telly-tanked teams in wars.

i rarely use him on wars now.
and for titans, i use shadereave instead of him.

he is just sitting on my bench most if the time.

My opinion is that Ares suffered in red with Boldtusk what Aeron suffered in purple with C.Rigard.

He is still useful but having a cheaper version in Boldtusk[CB] you probably be better keeping the rings for another unique red.

I use ares for titans only. He has become very replaceable in war and defense. And the new monsters in blue and the vast increases in duspels at 5 star had obsoleted him to a large degree

He doesn’t really excite me, and he’s not scary on a defense team either.

Didn’t age well in this meta, guardian chameleon has made him obsolete. Cham buffs the same amount of attack and crit to all and has dispel, well technically

Said this on another thread, I recently dusted Ares off and I’m using him as a part of my red mono attack team with Gefjon flanking him. With the attack and crit buff (plus using my best crit troops on Gefjon) her special can be devastating.

Just an FYI, but special skills are not affected by the Crit stat. Crit only applies to Normal attacks (tiles, slash attacks & minion hits).

I’ve just got him in the legends summon!

Initially I was happy for winning him in the summoning, but after reading the forum
I realized he is an almost obsolete hero :unamused:

I plan to use him in a mono team, instead of BT, together with Gefjon, Guardian Falcon, Wilbur & Elena.

What do you believe should I level him or not?
At least at 3/70, but probably no more than that.

The other 5* red I’ve got are:
Lady Loki, Marjana, Yang Mai, Khagan, Azlar, C-Elena, Anzogh & Grazul.

Probably he is going to appear in next FS. Don’t have him but for offence he doesn’t look bad at all. At least in theory. Average speed, 54% attack to 3 for 4 turns, chance for critical damage, healing to himself, elemental link. Quite supportive hero.

I think so and he is one of my FS target :slight_smile: i think he can be a poor-man Phenexa

If we combine +54% attack with 15% EL, we get
70% attack boost which is also applied to special skill.
This 70% boost for 4 turns is enormous and I could not see from many other heroes. His attack boost can be nicely combine with Athena extreme DD to destroy enemies (at least in PvE) ,

and also auto gain family mana bonus so that both will be 9 tiles without mana troops

I got some decent reds and thinking of adding Ares to the mix, his double limit broken stats look awesome but that’s with costume and we are not getting costumes in FS. Anybody know what his stats are sans costume? Thx
