Special Questions for Trials of Decimation
Trials of Decimation has some good healer options — did you bring any healers?
Fighter Boldtusk and Wizard Kiril are hugely helpful for their mix of buffs and healing. Kiril is particularly helpful as a counter to Boss Ulmer’s defense debuff. Do you have either, and did you bring them?
The Wizard Class has several excellent mana controllers with Proteus, Merlin, Onatel, Hel, and Guinevere. They can be an excellent approach to preventing the Bosses from firing in the first place. Do you have any of these heroes, and did you bring any of them along?

This is the same team as last time I think. The only notable changes is that Zeline is at a higher level and Boldtusk has a costume that I’m leveling now, providing a slight boost.
This is my easiest one, especially now I have 2x Proteus almost at max. My second one is 4/60.
I used 1x turtle banner for the first wave, and i always do this because they can kill so fast and easy other wise. In the photo it shows I have bomb attacks, but I didn’t take any, I switched them out for turtle banners.
Purple Trainer will go to my second Proteus, so it was ideal.
My aim was to not use any battle items. It wasn’t pretty, but I did it.
Ordinarily, I have no fear of Balthazar and Oberon, however as soon as they tag-teamed to take out Kiril, I was left scrambling - haven’t had this much fun in ages. .
As an aside, for a “slow” hero, Oberon seemed to fire his special off quite often. . It was hard to not use an antedote or 5.
The battle:
The board was pretty decent, got appropriate matches right on time, kept all the bosses mana stasis all through, healing from Kiril, BT and Deli prevented my team from dying as a result of those annoying slashes from the bosses…so I slowly wore the bosses out with tiles
Trialling no Yunan for the first time in my history of this trials…
Yunan out & Boldtusk in. Picked BT over Kiril cause BT has the costume bonus + bigger attack buff so… Also ditched a Sartana for Costume Elena for a second tile stack
Team as last time. Rainbow: Proteus+6, Elena+5, Hu Tao+3, Kashrek+7, Kiril+7. When the bosses showed up, I used all specials, loaded Proteus with big Mana potion to keep them quiet and two dragon storms. They didn’t fire their special once, but showed some sturdiness. Oberon revived 2 times - and then must have fired, while dying. My entire right side went down one by one only the attackers left on the field, Ulmer and Balthasar heavily wounded by Proteus DoT fired into riposte set up by Elena and took themselves out. Trainer went to my new project: Obakan. Emblems for Boldtusk, then +14 and I haven’t decided for the books: Guinevere needs 125, Kiril and Proteus both 40 - I have 45…
It’s the easiest one for me right now. No wonder with the heroes I can bring to the battle. Never had to look on my battle items, even from a far distance.
Swapped in Delilah instead of boldtusk +19 compared to last trial, was also thinking of trying Fenrir at 3-70, but could not decide which one to remove.
Trainer will be used for my Panther, but later to accelerate the last steps to 3-70, currently at 3-40.
Delilah will get the first fighter talent, just a few missing now. Having Kiril and Proteus both on +9 I will focus wizardry back to Hel
first time I tried this team, and I am very pleased, didn’t need to use a single item. with two healers and two Proteus, I could focus on managing the board to ensure I always had one Proteus and one healer ready to fire.
also, Proteus’ special looks really pretty
Trainer - will save for my next Purple 5*, I have the tabards but am waiting to see if I pull Clarissa or another Purple. otherwise, Sartana gets ascended over Domitia (both at 3/70 now)
Emblems - will decide if I spend on 4s or 3s. currently no maxed 5*s in either class
This goes to show, we can get too complacent and find stuff “easy” but then we forget that things can be challenging if things don’t go right.
The amount of times on first or second waves I don’t pay full attention on things and then I end up losing someone like Proteus or Miki… and then I facepalm like crazy, and suddenly I am paying full attention lol.
