  • Yeah, I nuked the bosses from space. Ripley would approve.
  • I used some items to finish off the bosses, but it wasn’t the full arsenal
  • I used support items like mana, banners, healing, and maybe a battle item or two, but nothing too crazy
  • I just used some minor items, like healing, mana, or antidotes

:dizzy: Special Questions for Trials of Decimation

  • Trials of Decimation has some good healer options — did you bring any healers?

  • Fighter Boldtusk and Wizard Kiril are hugely helpful for their mix of buffs and healing. Kiril is particularly helpful as a counter to Boss Ulmer’s defense debuff. Do you have either, and did you bring them?

  • The Wizard Class has several excellent mana controllers with Proteus, Merlin, Onatel, Hel, and Guinevere. They can be an excellent approach to preventing the Bosses from firing in the first place. Do you have any of these heroes, and did you bring any of them along?

:grey_question: Standard Questions for All Trials

  • Did your team change notably since last time?

  • Did changes to your team make the Trials any easier or harder?

  • What items did you use, if any?

  • What are you doing with your shiny new Emblems?

  • If you beat Stage 3, who’s eating the 3* Trainer Hero?

My Team This Time

The Battle

Last time the Bosses never fired at all, which meant no item usage.

This time I carelessly allowed a cascade that set them off while Proteus wasn’t active, but I still only ended up using 3 Minor Healing, 1 Antidote, and 1 Minor Mana.

So this remains an easy one with this team.

Shiny New Emblems

This one was a tad anticlimactic, with Kiril going to +4 (not a particularly useful node for him), and Hu Tao falling short of +4 by four Emblems.

She ate

Seshat ate the Trainer Hero, inching her closer to being ready for final ascension.

My last team was:

Which did a pretty good job. This time i wanted to try something different and went with Colen instead of Hu. Till now no problems, but still have to do the last stage, waiting to fill the monster chest first. We’ll see how Colen does.

Just finished the second one, waiting on WE for the last… but I’m not sure I’ll take it down :S

My TP is only like 3075… Balthazar, BT +7, Magni @ 2.60, Proteus 4.52, Colen @ 3.60…

Boldtusk & Kiril.

Proteus.

Colen 3/60 replaced by Sartana.

New Team:

This is getting very easy.

Only 10 Minor Mana Potions.

  • Trials of Decimation has some good healer options — did you bring any healers?

Sadly I do not have any healers outside of Hawkmoon and Belith on my main profile. :persevere:

  • Fighter Boldtusk and Wizard Kiril are hugely helpful for their mix of buffs and healing. Kiril is particularly helpful as a counter to Boss Ulmer’s defense debuff. Do you have either, and did you bring them?

Only one out of those I had was Ulmer and yes I brought him.

  • The Wizard Class has several excellent mana controllers with Proteus, Merlin, Onatel, Hel, and Guinevere. They can be an excellent approach to preventing the Bosses from firing in the first place. Do you have any of these heroes, and did you bring any of them along?

Finally was able to bring Proteus this time and greatly helped with the bosses.

:grey_question: Standard Questions for All Trials

  • Did your team change notably since last time?

Yes replaced Valen with Proteus.

  • Did changes to your team make the Trials any easier or harder?

Being able to put Proteus in made it way easier to control the bosses.

  • What items did you use, if any?

Just a dragon banner, an axe, and an arrow or two.

  • What are you doing with your shiny new Emblems?

Saving them for Proteus and either Hu Tao or Colen.

  • If you beat Stage 3, who’s eating the 3* Trainer Hero?

Gonna give it a go tomorrow morning on my way to work.

  • Anything else interesting to share?

Here was my line up:

Last time Boldtusk was at 9
Proteus was 3/60
Swaped out Rudolph for Isarnia

No items again, woo!

This is how the final battle went. Ulmer and Hu Tao switched for Proteus and Magni.

Well… bosses never fired, they could barely load like 25% mana. Wizard class has the best heroes, and Fighters have also a very good selection. Hu Tao and Sir Lancelot were also options, but this has worked excellent. Another trial where I won’t have problems again. No need to bring that huge arsenal I brought, I better save those bombs and axes for another trials

Emblems will be saved for when Magni and Hel can use it, BT has already enough, and Hel will eat the trainer hero as soon as Morlovia shows up

Still no Proteus on my team but I did max Merlin since the last time. I stuck with the same items as I didn’t make any notes to myself to swap stuff out:

After Ulmer and Oberon hit me the first time, I remembered why I bought antidotes. Merlin was the first to die anyway, despite the upgrade. Battle went very similar to last time but I didn’t use any weapons this time which was nice:

The key is to set off a lot of ‘missing hero’ tiles to trigger Oberon AND Ulmer’s specials at the same time…it saves you an antidote that way vs if they went off at different times :neutral_face::roll_eyes:

Kunchen will get the trainer hero next week after he gets his final ascension from the Morlova quest. Nobody gets the emblems because I’ve been hopelessly out of ham and iron ever since SH21.

My team this time looks suspiciously like my team last time. Delilah has a couple more ranks on her, and Onatel finally got the darts (4.44) after Drake refused to come my way this past Atlantis.

  • On the bench: Sumitomo, Lancelot, Boldtusk, Merlin
  • Up and coming: Boldtusk (4.53), Sartana (2.14)

Got to the final bosses with everyone charged except Delilah. Note that Onatel is 1337. I started with alternating Proteus and Onatel every two turns. The bosses seemed intent on trying to kill Onatel with their regular attacks; I was fine with that, she can take it.

I focused on Balthazar, taking him down first. As tiles became fewer and further between, I relied on minor mana pots to keep everyone locked down (and to keep Onatel healed).

Here is Poseidon getting the finishing blow on Ulmer.

Barring a miracle pull of Seshat, the trainer is going to Sartana. Emblems go to Delilah and the enormous pile awaiting Onatel.

Here you go done. On a side note. Hu is better than Colen for this trial, not only because is more resilient and more bulky, the fact that you got 2 dark bosses, having 2 yellows helps a lot.

Probably my last trial too for now, this game builds too much frustration, i decided to step back for now and uninstall it. You guys have fun.

Peace!

Magni is finally maxed and BT is now +20, so I know where the next emblems are going.

Otherwise no changes to last time.
Sometimes I wonder if they made it harder again. there’s hardly any trial I can clear without any items.

Substituted Sartana for Ulmer. Still used a couple dragons, a couple bombs, and a bunch of minor mana. No benefit, because Ulmer helps deliver damage to the bosses, but didn’t have to nurse Ulmer this time.

Sent in probably my best team for trials ever:

First time I finished a trial without any damage items!

Proteus is awesome and the rest of the crew is not bad either

Emblems for Sumitomo and Guin once they’re maxed. And a yummy trainer for Seshat!

Well, I’m not part of the “I have a Proteus” cool kids. I just have to bring my stinky Panther.

I’m just glad I checked my troops this time. HuTao got his 4* then it was off to the races. Final battle was a bit of a slog, and they wanted to kill Merlin a bunch, but it ended okay.

Sadly neither Panther nor Kiril got enough tokens to unlock the first node, but getting closer! Seshat will eat the trainer once I collect ten feeders for maximum ham efficiency.

Holy cow, what a difference one hero can make! My team this time:

  • Poseidon +1
  • Colen 4^70
  • Onatel 3^60
  • Kiril 3^50
  • Valen +20

Compared to last time, Colen is maxed (up from 3^1), Poseidon has one talent (dang, those nodes are expensive for legendaries!), and most importantly Kiril is in for Balthazar 3^50. Last time, I decided not to attempt stage 3. I consulted you fine folks about that decision, and it was endorsed pretty unanimously. I needed the WE for Sand Empire anyway. This was one of the few trials I had never finished.

The first two stages were honestly a joke. I’m not even sure I needed any tile damage on the bosses; I killed them with specials only. On the third stage, the mob waves hit hard, but I used almost no healing potions thanks to Kiril’s heal and defense buff. I did luck out that they didn’t target Valen at one point when he was sub-250 HP, and I didn’t notice, but they attacked elsewhere, and I dropped him some health potions.

On the boss wave, I entered with all specials charged. I decided to target Oberon first in hopes of eliminating the DoT threat (and because I had the board lined up to hit him with a 5-tile yellow that would become a diamond). That diamond went nicely with the red diamond I already had on the board, and Onatel’s mana steal ensured I could pop the purple diamond (which had no effect, since I had no purple heroes) without charging any boss mana. Anyway, with all that going for me, Oberon never fired. At some point in the boss wave, Valen died. His def down would have been nice, but I kind of expected he wouldn’t survive. Balthazar fired once before dying, but he had the misfortune of targeting Poseidon while Kiril’s defense buff was active, so the Big Fish just laughed it off. Balthazar didn’t survive to strike again. I used one bomb attack to take the edge off Ulmer’s special (when he finally got around to firing, he was the lone survivor), and he didn’t last long after that.

In short, I went from not even attempting the final stage to breezing through it using only 7 minor healing potions and a bomb attack that may or may not have been necessary. That’s how stupidly powerful Kiril’s special is, and I feel like it justifies all the carping I did about not being able to draw him forever. Now, the really exciting part - I finally drew Boldtusk yesterday! What will this trial look like when Valen tags out for the Big Orc?

Fighter emblems almost got Poseidon to +2. Wizard emblems remain in a stack, probably for Kiril now, since it will take forever to get more darts for Onatel. Trainer hero goes to Domitia, the second purple three-star trainer she has eaten today, thanks to a lucky mystic vision. (* burp *; hehe)

I almost not to try final stage,… because my new Kiril is 3.32, Merlin 3.60 and Anzogh 2.60, trouble which should I ascend 1st. Merlin VS (Sabina & Seshat), and Anzogh VS (Marjana & Scarlett).
And also my forge still underconstruction, just like always… lol. So no bomb.
But after seing the opponent bosses, I decide to try stage 3, and the results… drumb bell please :drum:

Using this hereos… and some items.

Use only 1 minor heal and 1 axes before enter bosses.

Anzogh, Kiril and Merlin died.

:tada: finally… finish this 1st Trial of Decimation… done!
Emblem keep for proteus and boldtusk. Trainer keep for Merlin, Sabina or Seshat, later on.
