  • I used some items to finish off the bosses, but it wasn’t the full arsenal
  • I used support items like mana, banners, healing, and maybe a battle item or two, but nothing too crazy
  • I just used some minor items, like healing, mana, or antidotes

:dizzy: Special Questions for Trials of Decimation

  • Trials of Decimation has some good healer options — did you bring any healers?

  • Fighter Boldtusk and Wizard Kiril are hugely helpful for their mix of buffs and healing. Kiril is particularly helpful as a counter to Boss Ulmer’s defense debuff. Do you have either, and did you bring them?

  • The Wizard Class has several excellent mana controllers with Proteus, Merlin, Onatel, Hel, and Guinevere. They can be an excellent approach to preventing the Bosses from firing in the first place. Do you have any of these heroes, and did you bring any of them along?

I thought about putting Magni in, but didn’t think there were any heroes I really wanted to replace.

The Battle

Two of Proteus makes this easy, though I eventually managed to not keep the Bosses frozen, and Oberon and Balthazar fired, killing one of the Protei.

That made the battle a little slower, and meant that the Oberon and Balthazar each ended up firing again.

Despite heroes ending up dying, it was clear I wasn’t in real danger, and I didn’t feel like using any items, so I plugged away until finishing with tiles.

Shiny New Emblems

Hu Tao stepped up once, but Kiril fell short.

Hunt Your Dinner

Seshat ate the Trainer Hero, and is creeping up toward maxed.

Checked the thread last time. Since there were no major changes, I didn’t feel like downloading and reupping again, but it looks like Kiril and Panther weren’t even at +1. That changed a bit.

Decided to be a little smarter with Merlin this time who kept Ulmer locked down except near the end, but nothing an antidote potion couldn’t fix. Mostly used the items just because, and funnily ended up killing Ulmer and Balthazar with a Bomb Attack when I was trying to get the attack debuff. :woman_shrugging::joy:

Had to pull off my TC20 due to burning food on troop leveling but got everyone up a bit. Notched up Rigard #2 as far as the trainer went.

Could bring Magni to +1 before the last stage, though it didn’t matter.
Used some arrows and axes.
Don’t have any of the event heroes or HOTMs, but can do fine with the vanilla heroes. Don’t know if I should use Hu tao instead of Colen next time, but shouldn#t make a big difference.

Saving up emblems for Sartana and Magi. trainer hero went to Jabbar.

  • Trials of Decimation has some good healer options — did you bring any healers?

Don’t have any fighter or wizard healers on my main. Didn’t need them anyway as I had my powerhouse crew with me.

This was my Alt profile’s line up:

  • Fighter Boldtusk and Wizard Kiril are hugely helpful for their mix of buffs and healing. Kiril is particularly helpful as a counter to Boss Ulmer’s defense debuff. Do you have either, and did you bring them?

Main doesn’t have Boldtusk and Kiril is nowhere to be found on either profile sadly.:cry: Alt had Boldtusk and he came through swimmingly.

  • The Wizard Class has several excellent mana controllers with Proteus, Merlin, Onatel, Hel, and Guinevere. They can be an excellent approach to preventing the Bosses from firing in the first place. Do you have any of these heroes, and did you bring any of them along?

Oh yeah I did! Whenever there is a trial where I can use my main man Proteus, I take him. Even if the predominate element is dark.

Just wish Proteus was on my alt as well.:cry:

:grey_question: Standard Questions for All Trials

  • Did your team change notably since last time?

Nope. Heroes remained the same just added recently obtained 4 star mana troops to Sumitomo and Hu Tao.
My alt I added Balthazar and Oberon to the squad. Actually beefed up my chances of getting through and I had another element to do normal damage to Elena.

  • Did changes to your team make the Trials any easier or harder?

Didn’t really change the lineup short of adding my 4 star troops to Sumitomo and Hu Tao. Decimation was always one of the easier trials for me.

The addition of Balthazar and Oberon actually guaranteed victory. 2nd stage took a little longer as it was a constant healfest and I had no antidotes to get rid of the poison that Oberon kept dishing out. BT was the last one standing as he is almost to 3-60.

  • What items did you use, if any?

None first stage, second stage an arrow on bosses along with a turtle banner and bear banner to be on the safe side. I made sure to go in with all specials charged.

On the second stage on my alt, I had to use all axe attacks, healing potions, turtle banners, and my last two arrows. Kinda wish I had the kitchen sink to throw at both of them lol.

  • What are you doing with your shiny new Emblems?

Wizard emblems are being saved for Proteus. Fighter emblems are being saved for Sumitomo.
Alt is saving them for Boldtusk and wizard ones for whenever I get either Ulmer, Proteus, or Kiril.

  • If you beat Stage 3, who’s eating the 3* Trainer Hero?

Still not high enough to beat stage 3.

  • Anything else interesting to share?

This is one of my favorite trials as I get to use our Lord and Savior Proteus. Any trial where I get to use him is my favorite.

My team…

The battle was pretty straightforward. Last time I used Kashrek, but subbed in Magni who has been my blue project. There were soooo many green tiles in the boss stage, perhaps Kashrek should have stayed.

I used health pots to keep my healers healthy, although if I’d been patient I probably didn’t need them at all - will try to use no items next time.

empires

Emblems and trainer hero safe in inventory until I have a worthy candidate.

Usually I don’t use items for trials, excepting for serenity, survival and justice, where I have to use healing potions and antidotes. The battle was easy. Due to the lack of an opposite colour, I chose to replace some high level mana troops with crit troops. I used the fighter emblems for Magni and he is +3 now. Still not decided for wizard. Trainer fed Gafar.

My team last time.

My team this time.

  • On the bench: Poseidon, Sumitomo, Lancelot, Boldtusk x2, Merlin
  • Up and coming: Magni (3.30), Sartana (3.62)

I got to the final bosses with everyone except Delilah locked and loaded, with plenty of minions on the board, and a purple diamond to boot.

I was able to keep them locked down the entire fight. I used one bomb to debuff their attack maybe 3 rounds in. Panther seemed to work well in this fight, but it could have been the boards, too.

Trainer goes to Sartana, emblems to Onatel and Delilah.

this is one of the few trials where I don’t have any maxed 5*s, yet stil don’t need to carpet bomb the bosses. thanks to my A-team especially Proteus; Kiril and Boldtusk and Lance are all great too

Last time I went in with Proteus (+7), Magni (2/60), Kiril (4/70), Protrus (3/54), and Sartana (1/1).

This time was much easier with a lineup of:

Used some axes at the end as the board turned against me, but the double Proetus pretty much handcuffs the bosses.

Kage gets the trainer, Misandra will get the fighter emblems eventually, and Proteus #1 will probably get the new Wizard emblems.

A leisurely stroll through the park with this team here…

Looking for more fighter emblems for my Gatos and Muggys!

Needed a 2nd attempt, cause autoplay failed with two bosses on about 200 hp left.

2nd was also close, since I didn’t want to waist items. Had to use some at last.

Trainer and emblems saved.

That’s my team… This trial is relatively easier for me because of two healers and a mana blocker… Third healer if you consider Anzogh. I am hoarding the emblems for now.

My team this time:

  • Poseidon + 2
  • Kiril +17
  • Boldtusk +12
  • Onatel 3^70
  • Colen 4^70

Compared to last time, Poseidon is up one talent, Kiril got maxed (from 3^50) and binged on the wizard emblems I’d been hoarding, and Boldtusk is maxed (from 1^1) and got the emblems from Valen (formerly) +20. Also, obviously, Boldtusk is in and Valen is out for this trial compared to last time.

With Onatel and Poseidon, I knew this would one day be my favorite trial, and I think today is that day. Now that I have some healing on board, this trial is almost a joke. Reached the boss waves with everyone charged, and tried to target Oberon to keep that annoying DoT from firing, as Rigard isn’t eligible for this trial. Unfortunately, I didn’t quite make it, and Oberon did fire, requiring a significant number of small healing potions for my team. Fortunately, he shortly after died, revived, and subsequently burned to death, thanks to Colen’s DoT.

Onatel had kept Ulmer and Balthazar at bay in the meantime. By the time Ulmer was ready to fire, I wasn’t worried, because Kiril stood ready to reverse the defense down as soon as he did. Ultimately, though, a simple match turned into a murderous combo that neither Ulmer nor Balthazar survived. Neither fired a single time. Not a single offensive battle item was used, as Colen is already a human dragon attack!

Wizard emblems take the insatiable Kiril to +18; fighter emblems fall just short of getting Boldtusk to +13. Trainer hero goes to Domitia (now 4^40), who gets a little burnishing ahead of the Trials of Shadow this weekend.
