Don’t get too attached

Details from Beta, especially brand-new Beta content, don’t tend to be very reliable for actual release.

It’s incredibly common that features are changed during Beta testing, or sometimes even after testing but before release. That is, after all, the purpose of Beta testing.

So I wouldn’t get too attached to any of this — it’s not unheard of for entire portions of features to be removed or reworked, or for radical changes to functionality to be made.


Summary of Balance Updates

  • Margaret
    • Deals 150% damage to the target and nearby enemies added.
    • Increased minimum dodge probability from 20% to 30%.
  • Guardian Kong
    • Direct damage increased from 220% to 250%.
    • Dispels status ailments from all allies added.
  • Guardian Owl
    • Attack increased from 601 to 663. [this was changed, and then restored]
    • Defense decreased from 795 to 716. [this was changed, and then restored]
    • Attack and Defense changed back to original.
    • Direct damage increased from 235% to 280%
    • Damage increase per dead ally decreased from 60% to 50%
  • Guardian Chameleon
    • Element change duration increased from 3 to 4 turns.
  • Queen of Hearts
    • Direct damage increased from 230% to 240%.
    • HP inherited by minions increased from 13% to 16%.
  • Atomos
    • Direct damage increased from 150% to 170%.
    • Maximum direct damage based on enemies’ mana increased from 270% to 290%.
    • Mana Speed changed from Slow to Average.
  • Mok-Arr
    • Direct damage to all enemies increased from 250% to 270%.
    • Direct damage to all allies decreased from 80% to 50%.
  • Khagan
    • Direct damage increased from 320% to 340%. [this was changed, and then restored]
    • Direct damage changed back to original.
  • Horghall
    • Direct damage increased from 235% to 250%. [this was changed, and then restored]
    • Direct damage changed back to original.
  • Gobbler
    • Attack decreased from 737 to 641.
    • Defense increased from 450 to 614.
    • HP decreased from 1302 to 1215.
    • Amount of HP recovered for each minion destroyed increased from 50 to 80.
    • Direct damage increased from 155% to 170%.
  • Sir Lancelot
    • Direct damage increased from 250% to 265%.
  • Sumitomo
    • Direct damage increased from 280% to 300%.
  • Danzaburo
    • Direct damage increased from 240% to 255%.
  • Gormek
    • Attack increased from 569 to 641. [this was changed, and then restored]
    • HP decreased from 1430 to 1249. [this was changed, and then restored]
    • Unchanged from live release
  • Hu Tao
    • Direct damage increased from 200% to 210%.
    • Accuracy status ailment increased from -35% to -40%.
  • An-Windr
    • An-Windrs special skill can now be reflected by riposte.
    • Damage wave from An-Windrs buff wont trigger upon death anymore.
  • Captain of Diamonds
    • Strike continues if it hits an enemy that has minions instead of needing to destroy a minion to continue. the card is updated to say: Attacks randomly a new target if hit a target with Minions.
    • Random targeting now prefers targets with Minions, and can only hit each target once; the card is updated to say: If the hit target has Minions, targets another enemy who has Minions. If none of the enemies have Minions, targets a random enemy. Each enemy can only be hit once.

So they can change Gormek and Gobbler’s stats, but won’t touch Telluria’s because…?

And Atomos is still garbage. Thanks for nothing there.

Margaret needs to have her stats adjusted as well and should have her damage dealt increased accordingly.

I’m glad they’re buffing the QoH.

Why won’t they make Khagan average mana speed?

Presumably, they think that adding more attack to a commonly available red defense down will ease the pain of green tanks, which weren’t a thing until recently.

I was hoping for a bit more on Margaret but at least now she justifies shields and if I like her maybe even tonics. 150% damage with that attack stat at very fast is nothing to laugh at.

Will definitely bring her to 3/70 if she gets released like this and go from there.

Everything else seem like sensible balances including the 2 big ones in the other thread - I’m commenting here as I expect this one to be a bit more civil lol.

I think Guardian Owl is still pretty weak for a Very Slow hero, but at least they looked at him.

gormek is used for def down not for attack and now i dont think it will survive long
if hp lowered def should also increase not just attack

Liking most of these alternations apart form Gormek’s HP. That always set him apart as a 4 star and now he’s just another red power hitter. Sigh.

I feel like kong, khagan, sumitomo, lancelot and gormek are futile attempts at providing players telluria counters.:man_facepalming:

Hi @Guvnor Is it possible to create 2 polls in some of the hero changes?

OWL has 2 adjustments, one a buff, one a nerf
As a vslow hero I am all for the Attack buff but against the Def nerf.

Same for Gobbler, a mix of nerfs and buffs its a little difficult to vote
Gobbler is not a defence type hero, now he is just complete trash at attack AND defence.

Same for Gormek, a mix of nerfs and buffs that i am agreeable and disagreeable with

As expected mostly increased % damage. It’s like they don’t want to use too much time on balancing. Quick and dirty…

Margaret could be interesting better.

Gormek change? What? I never thought he need it. He was like he was and it was okay. But I am okay with this change, but not okay that this has more importance than other heroes that definitely need changes like that way more than Gormek. Do this guys really even play there own game?

For very fast, that’s a decent damage. Not expecting an A card now, but definitely a strong B. But who knows, with that attack, she may surprise us yet.

Having a Deja Vu, I saw a similar update somewhere… Like few versions ago. With his high damage, he’s becoming a beast. Is the damage close to Ursena tier now? At average? Good one. Still not a tank material despite the water proof buff, but a good one. Makes him less trashy now.

Whoa, that hits very close, as that’s similar to what I recommended in my Terrible Heroes and How to Fix Them thread. Not as drastic, but still, I feel quite on the spot now :smiley:

I think I am still meh. Hardly ever they change slow heroes to average, I know, but I think that doesn’t ‘solve’ Atomos. He should be more like Tyr, a stubborn last-man-standing-and-attacking. For now he’s a bit like a cockroach fool, after the buff with a big bigger fangs.

Good! Again, closing to Ursena tier damage, and less punishing to its allies. Makes him find more places in non-stacks.

We begged for it, and it happened. It’s the last epic hero I had whom I left on 3.60 and not maxed. Perhaps this will make me max him.

I remember seeing Gormek tanking back when I was little, that takes him out of that role… but is he now a better answer to Telluria in the classic stacks? I wonder, that tile damage increase is huge.

Other classic or weaker heroes buffs are always welcome, but I won’t go into details there.

Generally I like it. I know that’s it for this round, but I have to say - I HOPE WE HAVE THIS HAPPENING MORE OFTEN! I mean, rebalancing changes. That’s what’s keeping the game fresh.
