Don’t get too attached

Details from Beta, especially brand-new Beta content, don’t tend to be very reliable for actual release.

It’s incredibly common that features are changed during Beta testing, or sometimes even after testing but before release. That is, after all, the purpose of Beta testing.

So I wouldn’t get too attached to any of this — it’s not unheard of for entire portions of features to be removed or reworked, or for radical changes to functionality to be made.

Notes & Reasoning!

A change from previous balance changes this time round is that SGG have included some short reasoning behind WHY the balance change is being considered.

I have included this rational with each listed balance change.

Summary of Balance Updates


  • Direct Damage increased from 170% to 220%
  • Increased damage per dead enemy decreased from 70% to 50%


  • Deals 150% damage to a random target (on cast)
  • Direct Damage at end of each turn while Baldur has boosted health increased from 110% to 150%

Norns, Sargasso, Khagan & The Hatter

  • Norns: Direct Damage increased from 265% to 280%.
  • The Hatter: Direct Damage increased from 370% to 400%.
  • Sargasso: Direct Damage increased from 355% to 385%.
  • Khagan: Direct Damage increased from 320% to 360%.

Other Changes

Additional damage in Guardian Gazelle, Hansel, Gretel, Pixie, Gullinbursti and An-Windr’s specials is now displayed as the exact amount of damage being dealt.

  • The damage dealt by Guardian Gazelle, Gullinbursti and An-Windr’s specials is no longer affected by the enemy’s defense. The amount of damage dealt has been rebalanced for each hero.
  • The amount of damage dealt by Hansel, Gretel and Pixie is not affected by this change, only displayed differently.

Main purpose of this change is to reduce confusion. the QUANTITY of damage should remain (on average) the same as previously.

Exact amount of damage dealt by the above heroes (base damage on their card):

Additional information about what does & does not affect the new “exact damage” number in that comment (click to follow down to it). The TLDR is:

  • Troops DO affect the number
  • Emblems DO affect the number (specifically attack nodes)
  • Family Bonus does NOT affect the number
  • Attack Buff or Debuffs do NOT affect the number

This is a step in the right direction, glad to see these underdogs getting a boost.

Guess Noor is waiting for another time…

and the dev notes are good addition and they make good sense.

few heros need similar treatment and i guess they are on the way i hope (looking at horgall, thoth, aeron, musashi, … and few others :eyes:)

Great update for Skadi:
Her initial damage was too weak to be useful and made her too difficult to work as intended but assuming they have their maths right this should be a good update.

Good update for Baldur on the face of it:
110 was way too underwhelming. Don’t think it’s going to turn him into a must have but a boost was needed and is welcome. Will be interesting to see if it’s enough now to make him desirable?

Okay update for the 4 others:
All quite weak so needed a little boost. You could argue for more on some of them (Sargasso?) But definitely better than nothing.

Sensible update for Gulli etc:
Interested to see how it will look/work


Where is Thoth-Amun?


Great! I pulled him a couple of days ago. Maybe he will be better, because now people don’t even want to talk about him. :grin:


What about Perseus and Aeron? Even a good rework to Owl since Khagan is having another opportunity?

I don’t get what is the change to G Gazelle, can you pls clarify

Instead of saying “Deals 100% damage to allies” it gives a set number now.

The quantity of damage is (on average) the same so no real change there.


Hmmmmm… Have Khagan at 3.70 and Kestrel at 3.70.

I’m guessing that even with the boost to Khagan, Kestrel will be more usable with a Fast mana speed?


Ok we look to be going in the right direction with these proposed changes but …
What about Thorne and Horghall who just collect dust in the majority of seasoned players rosters.
And really - is that the best we can do with Khagan- he will still be the underdog for S1 five star heroes


Skadi gets fair amount of love while Noor aint getting any, meh.


Do they rebalance brand new heroes (deservedly) but not Noor, the worst HOTM of the game?
Makes no sense. But of course she won’t give money until featured In Atlantis so why buff her now…


I wish Myztero was on this list for his 0.1% chance to get him he needs a “little extra flavor” if you added to his special, like cleansing, taunt, self healing over time, or revival like Atomos/Tyr. At 107% damage and very fast half the time you will just be dealing damage and not sending status ailment back.


Yea, the poll stands at 86% for buffing Noor for beeing way too weak.
Cant find any similar poll with sucha crushing result.
Fail to recall anything similar when it comes to Skadi.

Yet, Noor gets ignored and Skadi gets major buff.


Ridiculous choice of balanced heroes. Where are mentioned S1 heroes and underpowered HOTM. @Petri @KiraSG

Come on listen to your community: Horghall, Thorn, Leonidas, Elena, Richard, Oblakan, Quintus, Justice, Elkenen needs buffs.

Hotm: Perseus, Noor, Anzogh, Ranvir, Neith, Grimble, Toth, Ares.

Tell if I missed some…damn this list of balanced heroes is ridiculous. Changing stats to Norns and Skadi who are in game for 3 months against heroes that are collecting dust for years.

What is your company policy on hero balance? Who is considering this heroes as nerf or buff heroes. He needs to be fired and he needs to repay you all the money you gave him as a paycheck.


I would love too see the Special attack from Baldur to stack - now he often casts without additional effect.
Every special increases the damage by additional 20% as a suggestion , with a maximum of 250%.


This is a great idea. If he’s on defence you basically leave him alone as he doesn’t do that much but with this plan you can’t as his special will build up. Also in offence this would create some real use for him
