Don’t get too attached

Details from Beta, especially brand-new Beta content, don’t tend to be very reliable for actual release.

It’s incredibly common that features are changed during Beta testing, or sometimes even after testing but before release. That is, after all, the purpose of Beta testing.

So I wouldn’t get too attached to any of this — it’s not unheard of for entire portions of features to be removed or reworked, or for radical changes to functionality to be made.

Resist: Minion Removal – The Hero has an innate ability to resist Minion removal.
Element: Nature/Green

Mana Speed: Average

Special Skill: Force of Forest

  • Deals 130% damage to all enemies.
  • Summons a Forest Familiar Minion for all allies with 18% HP 13% HP and 13% attack inherited from the caster.
  • All allies regenerate 411 HP 243 HP 411 HP over 3 turns.
  • All enemies get [-34%] [-24%] mana generation for 3 turns.
  • Element Link gives all Nature allies +10% critical chance for 6 turns. This effect can’t be dispelled.

Vela Beta Info & Stats

Attack: 743
Defense: 729
HP: 1303

Class: Druid
Resist: Minion Effects – The Hero has an innate ability to resist incoming negative effects and damage from Minions.
Element: Ice/Blue

Mana Speed: Fast

Special Skill: Aquatic Outbreak

  • Deals 150% damage to all enemies.
  • All enemies receive 208 Water damage over 4 turns.
  • All Fire enemies get -54% -34% attack for 4 turns.
  • Deals extra damage against Fire. Deals extra damage against Fire. [this was removed and then re-added, at a reduced but unspecified amount]
  • Element Link gives all Ice allies +10% critical chance for 6 turns. This effect can’t be dispelled.

Beta Update

An updated balance change has been released for testing on Telluria.

This version has the Mana Debuff to all enemies removed.

Note as always, this is just for testing and is not the final result.

Thank you for the update!

Have they buffed any other parts of her kit? Or just removed the -mana regen?

v4 Telluria is worse Delilah with 13% minion, if they do not do minions back to 18%.

Removed mana and left the rest as per the last test, 13% minion, 411 hot

So, v4 Telluria is basically a Delilah who traded some of her heal to mediocre damage. Useful, but not fantastic. Worth the mats for me. But v2 was better.

SGG what are you doing guys? Are you all playing pin the tail on the donkey with Telluria/Velas nerfs.

Where only the left hoof is no nerf, and every other part of the donkey is some new version?

All of this, is why the original majority who said no nerf had it right.

You can’t release a hero who’s good at everything, then punish player for spending to get it.

Then when you go to rebalance it, you’re just making them mediocre at a bunch of things, and then removing one of the mediocre parts of them making them even worse.

Vela remained as in V3?

@Guvnor, @zephyr1 can you create a new thread with round 4 changes?

I will leave that for Z (and cause I’m on my phone and it’s fast approaching midnight for me).

To be fair they could be just playing with a whole lot of changes to gauge testers response , as this makes her extremely inferior it would be crazy for them to release like that , but again it what I was expecting when I looked at beta v1 as that would be a pointer of what they were thinking

Idk why I’m posting this reminder again but…

This change is for TESTING PURPOSES and is in no way an indication of what will necessarily occur in the final release…

My thinking is that they are following an extended Goldilocks and the three Bears script where they test this and that and this and then a combo with that. Then accumulate alllllll the feedback and come out with (hopefully) something which is just right.

They are exactly doing that.

It’s being TESTED.

Again for the millionth time they aren’t final yet…they are just gauging power levels across combos.

Now this v4 telluria will bring back guin and ursena at the top. He may be on par with aegir, just throw tiles on her until dispellers charge.

And if it is the intention of anyone to have guin and ursena back at the top, this version will be pushed through which should not happen.

I can deal with were tell is at now they thing is she doesn’t Excell in one area she is okay in all areas of her special. So you take one away you are ruining a hero that the person talked. 200 dmg is not that much in the grad scheme of things especially when she usually only goes off in the beginning of the match. Take a healer in with you when you go against her. Her damage is fine where it’s at.

I guess it’s just like me saying oh I lost a match against a Richard this morning he’s grossly OP he needs to be nerfed so I can easily beat him. Let’s just nerf all hero’s so we can all easily beat them…

Forgive my skepticism, this whole situation has been a flaming train wreck.

Taking another moment to say You guys are doing 10/10 work as moderators and we appreciate you.

The problem is, because so many feel like they paid for what was originally released, any negative change will feel bad, like theft for some.

Seeing this, and knowing that they probably won’t, or necessarily won’t leave her as she is now…well, it’s hard to trust them. They have been burning trust all week. Asking for trust is tough, so seeing any movement in a negative direction only cements things further.

Do you know of a thread that demonstrates the steps they took with previous post beta nerfs? The weakest version In 2nd round beta testing, verses the final release?

Being able to Have a reference would be helpful.

Yes I believe there were such iterations previously on the balance changes to Guin, Zeline etc…

The #beta-beat threads did not exist then tho so there is no public forum reference threads…

As for “burning trust all week”, we (mods) have tried making it abundantly clear that all this is for TESTING… Nothing is necessarily indicative of what (if any) will end up being in the final live game balance changes…

Beta testing is literally in the name of it… Testing…
