It’s time for Trials of Serenity!

Or, as @princess1 reminds us from Seinfeld:

This is the Fourth of the Trials in the 5th Cycle!

NOTE: The Trials officially start at 7:00:00 AM (07:00 GMT). This post is scheduled to go live 2.5 hours earlier at 4:30:00 AM (04:30 GMT).

If you do not see the Class Trial in Quests as of 7:00:00 AM (07:00 GMT), force quitting and reopening the app or restarting your device will usually work.

Now that the Class Trials are on their 5th Cycle and seem to have reasonably stabilized, I’ve moved all of the guide information to a separate thread.

Did you need to use a lot of items this time on Trials of Serenity?

(hat tip to @JAWS_3D for this question)

  • Yeah, I nuked the bosses from space. Ripley would approve.
  • I used some items to finish off the bosses, but it wasn’t the full arsenal
  • I used support items like mana, banners, healing, and maybe a battle item or two, but nothing too crazy
  • I just used some minor items, like healing, mana, or antidotes
  • I didn’t use any items

:dizzy: Special Questions for Trials of Serenity

  • Justice in Stages 1 and 2 blinds your whole team, and Richard in Stages 2 and 3 causes an attack debuff. How did you deal with that?

  • Did having few healer options in the Paladin and Ranger classes impact you?

  • Paladin Cyprian can be effective for killing AoE and multi-target hitters like Justice and Richard. Do you have Cyprian, and if so, did you bring him along?

:grey_question: Standard Questions for All Trials

  • Did your team change notably since last time?

  • Did changes to your team make the Trials any easier or harder?

  • What items did you use, if any?

  • What are you doing with your shiny new Emblems?

  • If you beat Stage 3, who’s eating the 3* Trainer Hero?

  • Anything else interesting to share?

Last time Frida was 1/6
Triton in for Tyrum

Evelyn - Frida - Ares - Alasie - Lianna

Still the same team as last time with Lianna,Buddy,QoH,Aegir and Tiburtus.
I forgot to put in Richard. Now that he’s maxed he would be a good replacement for Buddy, though I kinda want to keep the minions to protect QoH.

Got a Khagan now, but he’s only in his second ascension and has to wait until I max Marjanna. And even then it’s questionable if I will use him at 3/70. I also have the possibility of raising a second Lianna, but that will take a while too.

As always QoH did a good job of tanking some damage, but piercing talent ruined her. In the end I did use a single fire bomb to save me some trouble.

I opened up with a dragon attack but that’s the only item I used. Queen of hearts was a great tank.

Took both falcon & cyprian to max this past week and only recently pulled Sonya, so much improved team made this very comfortable.

Sonya 4-29, Frida 3/70, cyprian +3, G.Falcon *3, Tibertus 3/53

Justice is not in the last stage… I can finish the first and second stage without item, so her blind is not a problem. Richard? In the last stage, just let my hero die and the tile damage will return to normal . When only 1 of my heroes left, that is the signal to throw the rest of carpet bombing items, Ripley wouldn’t mind, right?

Just 1 answer: Carpet Bombing :fire::fire::fire:

Yes, Richard almost commit suicide.

Only Sonya’s level and emblem, previously, she was only 4/50. This is my team:

Not much but I do save 1 more Dragon Attacks and I was left with 2 Bomb Attacks unused instead of 2 Axe Attacks, therefore, my team manage to cut 600 more HP.

Used items: 10 Healing Potions, 5 Axe Attacks, 3 Bomb Attacks, & 1 Dragon Attack.

Saving it for now, I do have Sonya but I want it to be ready in case I can get Falcon, no interesting Ranger as of now in my roster.

My strongest hero, Ariel.

I updated it to clarify that it’s a question about all of the Stages, not just the last one.

Updated my answer to match the question.

I forgot to take screenshots this time but I feel this was the easiest trial so far for me, even though I don’t think my team is that impressive:

Chao 4/70 +6
Frida 2/60
Triton 3/15
Sonya 3/60
Berden 3/50

Not much issues with the trash mobs despite 3 blues against mostly green opponents. Used 2 bombs and 2 dragons and a couple of arrows on the bosses and they went down quite easily. Couple of healing pots and lost some heroes eventually but never in fear of losing so kept my other bombs and dragons in stock.

Chao is getting the ranger emblems and got quite a few paladin emblems so should probably ascend Sonya once Triton is 3/60. He’ll be eating the trainer to get there faster

Aegir like always made this win possible and he earned his emblems. Had a second Chao last time at 3/60 tho. I picked Cyprian over him this time and that riposte helped a lot. Thats where Richard commited suicide. Used some items but I’ve tried not to abuse so thats why in the end i lost some health and one hero.

No clip this time, I forgot to record.

Kiril had a blue kobe trainer. No paladin emblems used. They will be kept for Cyprian. Triton will get one step to +8.

Chao was replaced by Athena…

Not yet maximum. Only stage 2, and did not try Stage 3 as my rosters still in progress.
Maybe later, Wabbit will replaced by Jack O’Hare (currently at 2.15).
And Gunnar will replaced by Triton (currently at 2.11).
Next Trial of Serenity I will try stage 3. :sunglasses:

My team last time.

My team this time. I had several new options available, as I have leveled Cyprian, Tibs, Buddy, and Queen since last time. I decided to sit Triton and Chao in favor of the minion-makers.

I got to the final bosses locked and loaded, with a full complement of minions in front of Queen. Her taunt soaked up several specials, though eventually both Lianna and Richard got off attacks after her minions were dead. I did remember to use a bomb once Buddy’s attack debuff had worn off.

After finishing Richard and Chao with tiles, Frida got the killing blow, revenge for Lianna’s earlier attack.

The emblems are going to Queen and Triton. The trainer is going to King Arthur (because I clearly don’t have enough paladins).

Triton +9 / Sonya +9 / Justice 3/70 / Cyprian 4/29 / Tiburtus 4/70

Cyprian replaced Prisca 3/50 from last time. Which made a HUGE difference.

Finished levels 1 and 2 with no problem. On level 3, I used 4 medium mana, 10 medium heal, 20 minor heal, 5 axes. Two heroes standing at the end.

Triton and Sonya are taking the emblems, Agwe ate the feeder (to finally have a cleric 4-star…).

My Team Last Time

My Team This Time

I decided to try Frida in place of 3-60 Chao.

I’m not sure that really helped, but it didn’t hurt a ton either. :man_shrugging:

The Battle

Without healers, this remains one of the only of the Trials where I still need notable items.

I duked it out for a while, but I ended up needing 4 Bombs and 1 Axe to finish them off and not push my luck too much.

I used up all of my Healing and Minor Healing pots too.

Shiny New Emblems

Paladin Falcon went up one to hit +18, the end of his ride for now at least.

Ranger Triton also stepped up one node to +8, which is nice for being over one of the two remaining 40-Emblem humps.

A Snack for Later

My current blue project is my second Sonya, and she’s actually at 4-69, so the Trainer Hero XP would be partially wasted.

So I’m holding onto it for my next blue…

…which is, um…

…a second Boril?

…a third Sonya?

…a third Grimm?

I should figure that out…

-I brought antidotes to deal with the debuffs. I only needed them on the third stage. I beat the bosses in the first two stages before they could fire.
-Having few healer options didn’t really impact me. I had a few heal pots.

  • I have Cyprian at 3/60, but I didn’t bring him.
-My team did not change since last time at all.
-No change, so same difficulty this time as last time.
-I used antidotes and a few minor healing potions.
-Lianna went to +6 and I didn’t upgrade Frida yet because I’m saving the iron for the stronghold 21 upgrade tomorrow.
-Saved the trainer hero for now. I’m maxing a couple of blue 3s right now and they aren’t worth a 3 trainer hero.
-Pretty easy trial for me since I have two maxed 5* that qualify. Breezed through the first two stages. Third one did require antidotes and a few healing potions, but nothing major.
