🧪 Early Information on Round 2 of Tower of Magic Heroes [Part of The Beta Beat v57]

This thread is to provide early insights and discussion on the Round 2 of the Tower of Magic Heroes.


Don’t get too attached

Details from Beta, especially brand-new Beta content, don’t tend to be very reliable for actual release.

It’s incredibly common that features are changed during Beta testing, or sometimes even after testing but before release. That is, after all, the purpose of Beta testing.

So I wouldn’t get too attached to any of this — it’s not unheard of for entire portions of features to be removed or reworked, or for radical changes to functionality to be made.


Updated Event – Tower of Magic!!

There are a total of ten (10) new heroes added to Beta for testing; these have been indicated to be for “Tower of Magic”.

*The names of the new heroes are:

  • Legendary: Becky, Camilla, Jett, Ray, Telonius, Ulius, Vaishali, Willow
  • Epic: Lucy
  • Rare: Roxia

:hugs: Family Bonus

The new heroes form the “Magic” family and have a family bonus for each unique hero in the team:

Magic Family
Bonus for 2 / 3 Heroes:

  • 25% / 50% chance to cast +5% mana generation stack on a random ally when this hero casts their Special skill.
    Maximum stack size: 10

Note: Family bonus can be triggered on the first and second mana charge too.
The new heroes have passive abilities too, which can be triggered on the second mana charge only.

Special Skill: Want of the Mana Control

  • Special Skill has a different effect when charged with 100%/200% mana:

  • 1x Mana Charge:

    • Deals 400% damage to the target.
    • Each time the target activate their Special Skill during 3 turns mana of all other enemies is reduced by -10%.
  • 2x Mana Charge:

    • Increase the mana of all allies by 10%.
    • For the next 5 turns, this character deals 225% damage to all enemies each time any other ally casts their Special Skill. Damage is dealt on the first Special Skill case of each character per turn.

Special Skill: Mechanical Augmentations

  • Special Skill has a different effect when charged with 100%/200% mana:
  • 1x Mana Charge:
    • Reduces the max health of all enemies by 300. All boosted health is removed. Max health can’t get lower than 30% of the original max health.
    • All enemies get -34% defense against Special Skills for 3 turns.
  • 2x Mana Charge:
    • Boosts health of all allies by 800. Boosted health can exceed max HP.
    • All allies get +74% defense against Special Skills for 5 turns.

  • 2x Mana Charge:
    • Deals 300% damage to all enemies.
    • All enemies receives 645 Poision damage over 5 turns. The caster and all their allies absorbs 50% of the dealt Poison damage as heath.

    • The target and nearby enemies receive 345 Poison damage over 3 turns.
  • 2x Mana Charge:
    • Recovers 75% health for the caster and nearby allies.
    • The caster and nearby allies are immune to damage from status ailments for 5 turns.

Special Skill: Scroll of Equations

  • Special Skill has a different effect when charged with 100%/200% mana:
  • 1x Mana Charge:
    • Summons an Enchanted Sigil Minion for each ally with 15% HP and 20% attack inherited from the caster.
    • When summoned, the Enchanted Sigil Minion gives +20% mana generation for its owner for as long as the owner has Enchanted Sigil Minions. This effect can’t be dispelled.
  • 2x Mana Charge:
    • Summons a Cursed Sigil Field to all enemies. The Fiend damages its target with 40% attack every turn.
    • The Cursed Sigil Fiend absorbs healing. It disappers after absorbing a healing amount equal to 35% of its target’s max health.
    • When summoned, the Cursed Sigil Fiend give -35% mana generation for its owner for as long as the owner has Cursed Sigil Fiends. This effect can’t be cleansed.

    • All enemies receive 750 Sand damage over 5 turns.
    • All enemies get -39% attack for 5 turns.
    • Dispels buffs from all enemies.

    • All enemies are immune to new status effect buffs that affect defense for 3 turns.
  • 2x Mana Charge:
    • All allies bypass defensive buffs with their attacks for 5 turns. Defensive buffs include counterattacks.
    • All allies get +40% defense for 5 turns.
    • All allies counterattack with 120% of the damage received for 5 turns.

  • 2x Mana Charge:
    • All allies get 60% chance to bypass defensive buffs with their attacks for 5 turns. Defensive buffs include counterattacks.
    • All allies get +30% critical chance for 5 turns.

It would be nice if we had more 4* heroes than the 1 that they are bringing out. Way too much 5* in this one portal in an already saturated market of 5*.

Ray does seem interesting in that his best special is the 1x charge. Lucy also seems like a great one for the 2x charge. VF wars will be fun with that one.

For Willow’s 2x charge, is tile damage included in the bypass? If so, that is a OP skill

Most of these 5* have at least 1 incredible skill, all looks really solid.

Either these 5* heroes are amazing or losers, really no in between here. 8 new 5* heroes here but only 1 of the 3/4*, that seems balanced…

Honestly, I’m actually really pleasantly surprised by this line up of heroes, in so far as their 2 charge abilities keeping the distinct flavour of the magic heroes.

I also do think that there is still a lot of unique heroes from the existing pool of 5 star magic heroes (Milena & Co) that keeps them being relevant which is honestly super refreshing to see that they’re not being pushed into insignificance.

Some food for thought:

  • I can see :new_moon_with_face: Becky being a superstar in this portal

  • :sun_with_face: Vaishali & Willow both have some great potential too, and can make or break some matches, but aren’t too over the top

  • :snowflake: Camilla will be a dark horse, given that she can eliminate all boosted health from the enemy team in a 1x charge! Or offer a massive boost herself on 2x.

  • :snowflake: Ullius if i’m being perfectly honest, is actually kind of weak in my opinion.

  • :leaves: Telonius I think you’ll really need to build a team for their 1x charge. 75% heal-to-three isn’t that exciting tbh, especially given that it doesn’t boost…

  • :fire: Ray has a good concept behind him, and honestly, that super fast application of -34 EDD is nice, especially with a free dispel in there for good measure but kind of underwhelming.

  • :new_moon_with_face: Jett is going to be fun to use if you can get them to 2x, but honestly, at 1x? not bad, 350% on a v/fast snipe

  • :fire: Lucy is absolutely an amazing one to have in your 4* roster, and honestly, what a great one to be able to get at a potentially reasonable rate!

  • :leaves: Roxia actually some really fun mechanics here in a 3* - I can get on board with this!

Uh, well… that turned into more of a summary than I expected :scroll: but, those are my thoughts!

One thing is for sure though, that they really didn’t need to add on the secondary passive… that just feels excessive… at least for all enemies, when the family bonus only offers a stack to 1 ally

I just don’t like the new passive. 5% will plush average heroes into slow territory needing 4 sets of 3 to charge rather than 3 sets of 3. It just seems like too much.

That passive minus mana stack is op and will be a pita for attacking teams

Sg wants big spenders to spend more on 6 tile kill teams in making 7 tiles teams to slow

The passive skills are too op. You could basically have a skill that does nothing (Telonius) and it would still be viable for the mana regen down stack on enemies plus chance of mana regen up and random heal/damage.

Also clearly Hippo wasn’t considered op, since they put the skill on a very fast hero and on a 4*.

Ah finally New Heroes.

And as usually some of them are brokenly OP and the others barely useable.

And there is 10 of them. Which means, enough New heroes for the next five magic Towers. Which also means 3 of the next five Tower Events will be Magic tower.

And by the time all of them are released, the best ones are already outdated.

A great Business Model continues.

With this 2nd Limit Break and the ongoing drive in the absolutly wrong Direction, i am Not Sure If this Game has become a scientific study on how hard you can fu** Up a once nearly perfect game designe until there are less then 50 costumers left…

From my immediate testing, Yes tile damage does bypass counterattacks on Willows 2nd charge.

Your completely correct, from beta the first 3 featured are useless, so what are you summoning for a 0.3% chance at getting Becky? We probably wont see becky or willow featured until they need to increase $$, when they are outdate lol as u said.

So, tiles can bypass defensive buffs and counterattacks, then that skill can pretty much decide the outcome. That would need a nerf
