:triangular_flag_on_post: New Stages, Bosses, and WE Costs

There are now 15 Stages for each tier of the Challenge Event (Rare, Epic, and Legendary), and they have new Bosses and WE costs, many of which are effectively reduced vs. the current Challenge Events.

@Mariamne has prepared an update to her fantastic infographic:

:spiral_calendar: New Event Duration & Schedule

The starting time for Challenge Events has shifted backwards one day, and the duration has been extended from 3.5 days to 4.5 days.

This will of course provide more time and WE to complete Stages, but will also likely affect competition as well.

:tada: New Rewards

The Rewards have been fairly radically improved.

The brackets are still broken up by number like the current Challenge Events, not percentage like Raid Tournaments, but the brackets are vastly larger, and the loot for lower brackets is substantially improved.

There are also more Emblems in the Completion Reward for each Tier.

:alarm_clock: New Completion Rewards Time Cutoff

Completion Rewards will now be given even if the final stage is completed after the event ended.

This was a frequent request from players. One of the recent discussion threads can be found here: Challenge event glitch – Didn’t Get Completion Reward for Finishing After Event Ended

:game_die: Slightly Adjusted Summoning Odds

These are the same that went live previously for Knights of Avalon, Pirates of Corellia, Riddles of Wonderland, and Fables of Grimforest.

The Summoning Odds are still very similar to before, with slight adjustments.

Please note that Challenge Event Heroes are amongst the lowest odds of any Hero in the game. Even with a large number of Summons, you are very likely not to get Challenge Event Heroes, particularly 5*.

I highly recommend setting and sticking to a budget for Summoning to avoid overspending and frustration.

APPEARANCE RATES
Rare Classic Hero: 63.1%
Epic Classic Hero: 20.8%
Legendary Classic Hero: 1.5%

Rare Event Hero: 7.9%
Epic Event Hero: 5.7%
Legendary Event Hero 1.0%

BONUS DRAW
Legendary Hero of the Month: 1.3%

:orange_circle: New Challenge Coins

Challenge Coins can be received from Challenge Event Rewards, as well as from new “rare enemies” called a Suspicious Chest that appears at random in Challenge Event Stages.

10 Challenge Coins can be used for a free Summon from the Challenge Event Portal.

Challenge Coins appear to be copper colored (more orange than EHT and ETT), and are pentagon shaped with each of the 5 Challenge Event Family symbols on them. They can be saved and used across Challenge Events, they’re not specific to one Event.

The premise of Suspicious Chests is similar to the concept of Orichalcum Seadragons appearing at random during Atlantis Rises and dropping Atlantis Coins, which can then be used for Summons. One difference is that Suspicious Chests only drop a single Challenge Coin — but you only need 10 of them for a Summon, not 100.

In-Game Tooltip Text for Challenge Coins

Used for a free summon at the Event Summon. You need 10 coins for one summon.

This item can be received as loot from a Rare Challenge Event enemy.

More Details on the Suspicious Chests

They appear at random in a mob/monster slot. 3 useful things to note:

  1. The Suspicious Chest have an Elemental Barrier that reflects all direct damage and status effects from the same element.

  2. The Suspicious Chest is “Invulnerable” and “Shielded,” which means that it’s “Vulnerable to damage only during the turn before it attacks.” This is an intrinsic attribute, not a Status Effect, so it can’t be dispelled, and shouldn’t be removable, even by Guardian Chameleon. The Chest shows the word “INVULNERABLE” below it at all times, and the pop-up information when you tap and hold on it shows “Shielded,” along with the explanation above.

  3. Defeating the Suspicious Chest adds 5000 bonus points to the Stage Score.

This is the last of the “revamped” challenge events, correct? Also last group of challenge events to receive family bonus right?

Avalon Family
Pirates Family
Wonderland Family
Grimforest Family
Guardians Family

Yes to both. :slightly_smiling_face:

Will the monsters and colous be the same from previous?
This will be my first but going from Guardians of Teltoc | Empires and Puzzles Wiki | Fandom it shows Yellow as reflect, and yellow + green are the monsters in all stages. Will that be the same, do you know?

I hope so because i have a fine purple and red team combination I can use.

Yes, it’s still reflect Yellow, and all of the monsters on every stage are still Yellow and Green.

The Bosses are:

1: Bat
2: Falcon
3: Jackal
4: Kong
5: Panther
6: Gazelle
7: Chameleon
8: Owl
9: Falcon, Bat, Jackal
10: Chameleon, Jackal
11: Falcon, Gazelle
12: Kong, Panther
13: Bat, Owl, Jackal
14: Falcon, Gazelle, Panther
15: Chameleon, Owl, Kong

For the 3* tier, do you like a purple or red team?

Thanks for all the info.

Cross-posting this cause I think it’s relevant to this thread now!

Red, at least to start with, for a couple reasons:

  1. I’m lazy about changing teams, and red is strong or neutral against all of the Bosses

  2. I’m lazy about changing teams, and if you take mono purple against Guardian Chameleon and he changes you to yellow, all of your damage will reflect off of Jackal (Stage 10) and Owl (Stage 15)

  3. I have Hawkmoon’s Costume now, and I’m psyched to try her + 2x Squire Wabbit + 2x Rudolph

  4. I’m lazy about changing teams, and it’s nice to have some healing potential in the later Stages with Hawkmoon

  5. I’m lazy about changing teams, and mono red works well as a baseline for everything but Grimforest

That all said, I might swap to purple for some re-runs, depending on how things go.

And, you know, how lazy I’m feeling.

Most likely that would be with Gill-Ra and 4x Balthazar.

Super useful. I just re-read all your tips from the last event and I’m pumped to try to improve.

I noticed all your troops were level 4 (for the 3* tier). Any reason for that particular number?

Thanks!

Edit: Reference to the mentioned tips.

Yes, but it’s a little arbitrary — Level 4 on 2* offense-oriented Troops gives 2 Attack buffs, and the required XP is perfectly divisible by 40, so you can use 12 1* feeders with no wasted XP.

I cannot wait to blow several thousand gems to get Dawa.

Kidding. I am, and have been, looking forward to this event since the end of the last Challenge Event. I expect to do a few pulls, and go from there. But I love these events for the completion rewards. The loot tiers and placement, I still am well into the hundred thousand+ range.

I suspect there might be one more game update between now and the start of the event. All the existing Guardian cards are without the family insignias (unlike their other challenge hero counterparts who already had their “go” already). So this update, I suspect will just be there to enable the cards for the existing guardians to be updated with the Teltoc insignia (unless already done in one of previous updates and is just an on switch when the event goes live).

Yeah, probably just useless information…

You just blew my mind, man.
