Santa’s Challenge Winter
Image Aether Power Description
regen Regen At the start of each battle, this Hero regenerates 420 health over 6 turns.
In battles with multiple waves, the effect is refreshed at the beginning of each wave.

  • Deals 150% damage to all enemies.
  • Summons an Elf Minion for each ally with 10% HP and 10% attack inherited from the caster.
  • All enemies get -24% attack for 4 turns.
  • All enemies get -54% defense for 4 turns.

Christmas (Winter) Heroes now all have a family bonus for unique heroes of the same family.

Winter Family
Bonus for 2 / 3 heroes:

  • +2% / +3% health for Minions

It’s important to remember that Challenge Event Heroes have EXTREMELY low summoning odds. No amount of summoning will guarantee a Challenge Event Hero.

On average, in a 10-pull, you have a 1.65% chance of summoning Costumed Santa Claus.

But that statistic can lead our minds astray in exactly how our odds play out as we continue summoning.

Some useful insights:

  • 15 times out of 100, you’ll get Costumed Santa Claus by pull 100 (26,000 gems)
  • 56 times out of 100, you’ll get Costumed Santa Claus by pull 500 (130,000 gems)
  • 95 times out of 100, you’ll get Costumed Santa Claus by pull 1,796 (467,200 gems)
  • 99 times out of 100, you’ll get Costumed Santa Claus by pull 2,761 (717,900 gems)

Putting that in Perspective

  • 85 out of every 100 people won’t get Costumed Santa Claus by the 100th pull

Does anyone other skill strip your entire team to their chonies? That’s more than Frigg can get to. This is an event hero! And event folks just might pay extra for toilet paper that has #nospend printed on it

But at slow speed he is less threatening than Frigg. There is also a precedent for a -54% defense drop in Saoirse who does the same but to 3. However, with the Slayer stacks she can gradually go up to fast speed.

Hence…

and… I’m not a fan of Frigg for offense,
Defense sure…she’s a Stout
But I don’t like devouring green tiles in order to charge her to a Pilsner

It’s a worthy slow card. Too bad it’s a costume and not a buff

His damage percentage is too low to be Slow and the worse part he has quite low Atk.
Even 200% damage doesn’t compensate a decent damage for Slow Hit All Heroes. (Yet he is 150% to all)

He will be a killer for rush attacks in my opinion. You’ll be lowering defense and attack making it harder to kill the wing revivers and making it easier for Alfrike or other damaging heros to wipe the team.

He’ll still be decenf/whatever in normal defenses but I can see him being utilized more for rush attacks.

I just pulled Santa. That -54% Def down is awesome.

Santa won’t finish a team, that not his job. You fire him and what follows finishes the team off. I’m lucky to have C.Marj but Falcon would do the job just as well.

That’s game over in 6 tiles in a rush format.

And for Titan that def down is amazing. Slow doesn’t make a difference in a Titan as you can change that with mana potions.

All round this costume is fantastic

I agree, pulled him today as well. He’s my first -54 def down hero so I will definitely have a use for him. Wish it was an elemental def down though so I could combine him with Wilbur. Maybe once the event 4* get added to HA i will get lucky :sweat_smile:

He would be great tank in current tourney. VF -54% defense is pretty much a death sentence, especially if followed by Alfrike or Senan. I think it is also biggest AoE defense decrease in the game. Otherwise probably good for titans and probably even in raids with correct support heroes.

Dölgöön has a -56% def down to all for 5 turns but as a 3 star, his stats even fully emblemed and LB are only about ⅔ of Santa of course.

Dolgoon is great don’t get me wrong but in rush his first charge is actually a little slower and then you need to charge him again. So 12 tiles needed.

Whereas in Rush Santa can easily be gotten to 6 tiles. And then with the firepower that can follow its game over.

You made me think about a Rock Santa and Wilbur combo.

So had a little play with a potential Legendary event team and I think this is a really good idea.

Fire them left to right and you get the shared damage but with -54% defence and -54% elemental down. Khagan and C.Colen then fire into that and wows. That’s an even better set up than I had already.

So there you go…Wilbur and C.Santa can 100% be friends

I have neither but plan to let HA8 run for that reason once they’ve added the event heroes. Does the sharing of the damage makes it worth putting Wilbur in your setup since :santa: brings def down to all 2 or 3 end bosses?

Wilbur also protects your team with shared damage and defense up.

he is an awesome hero. no brainer, both def down and attack down best for def also great on offense. probably the best overall hero but so underrated
