🧪 The Beta Beat (V45) – Soul Exchange, War of the Three Kingdoms -- Sharing the Big Picture on What's Going on in Beta

NOTE: Please do not, under any circumstances, share IMAGES OR VIDEOS from Beta in this or any public Forum thread. Violations can cause players to lose their Beta accounts, or threads to be closed down.

 What’s this all about?

Click Here for Details About This Thread's Intention & Format

Often players on the Forum wonder about what’s going on in Beta.

If you’re a regular reader of the Forum, then you’ll find that there’s actually abundant conversation about what’s going on in Beta at any given time.

And that’s actually allowed!

What’s restricted is images and videos — but discussion is ok:

The challenge is that information is often scattered around the Forum. I’ve created The Beta Beat to help centralize it for those who are interested.

The Beta Beat is a series of threads which are evolving as I get feedback on what’s helpful to players.

My main focus is giving some high-level guidance of what’s going on in current testing, so players outside of Beta can be better informed.

Like Beta itself, this thread is experimental and will evolve based on your feedback.

Information from Beta is frankly often mostly useless, so don’t get too attached.

Details from Beta, especially brand-new Beta content, don’t tend to be very reliable for actual release.

It’s incredibly common that heroes and features are changed during Beta testing, or sometimes even after testing but before release.

That is, after all, the purpose of Beta testing.

So I wouldn’t get too attached to any information from Beta — it’s not unheard of for entire portions of hero skills to be removed or reworked, or for radical changes to hero stats to be made, or for large chunks of new functionality to be completely changed.

Often Incomplete Information Circulates

Many of us have seen screenshots and other information shared on LINE, Discord, Facebook, and other groups — often without context or explanation.

These can lead to confusion and misunderstanding.

Often, early Beta information — the least reliable or useful — is circulated…and then updated information is missed.

I’m hoping centralizing some high-level information on the Forum may help to reduce this as well.

:left_speech_bubble: Feedback?

I’d love to hear thoughts on whether this information and format is useful, and how you’d like to see information presented in the future. Any thoughts or ideas?

Please try to limit discussion in this thread mostly to the information sharing process and feedback on the thread, so we don’t end up with a jumbled discussion of a bunch of different heroes — use the threads linked above for each individual hero to discuss more.

Thanks!

Cue jokes about soul exchange

I’m in beta and Soul Exchange is a hard yes for veterans of this game. Now the cost to exchange can be negotiated but this is a first of it’s kind to allow the player to choose what they want and I support it.

Well, I actually wrote this post three times, cause the formers weren’t acceptables by forum policies, and probably by goverment law too.
YES!!! Finally!!

That sounds absolutely great, but I’m a little bit frightened to ask what it will cost…

A soul for a soul

Sounds fun, but if this is random it’s just like winning the lottery. Good teammates, congrats.
Bad teammates, good luck next time.
And if it’s random it will result in a lot of pressure from good players towards weaker ones, depending on the loot.

Be afraid, be very afraid.

This is just a guess. I’m not in beta and have absolutely no idea what it will cost.

As it’s called exchange I’m pretty sure we need another 5* but that is probably not enough.

But that is what I would find acceptable:

  1. 2600/3000 gems. That’s the price for a 10 pull. There you normally get nothing and if you are lucky not what you want. I’m f2p, so that is around half a year of waiting, but I would find it acceptable.

  2. I don’t think anything including only ham, iron and recruits is realistic. I would love to change a full load of all 3 for a guaranteed 5* hero and would call it super cheap. Doubt this will happen.

  3. Complete set of Ascension mats. Probably my favorite. F2p have very often much more mats than heroes, so they would love to exchange them.
P2p have much more heroes than mats, but as it is limited to only 15 different heroes to choose, I’m relative sure that’s older heroes. So everyone who has a bunch of new heroes is probably not tempted.

  4. More heroes from the same rarity.
Say 5 hotm + some recruits and ham for 1 choosen hotm.
5 event heroes + ham for 1 choosen event hero.
Probably my least liked version. Would be great for those with lots and lots of dupes. But this gives people who already have a lot of great heroes more and those with few heroes no real chance.

I’m curious if I’m to optimistic or negative, or if Sg has thought about something completely different.

There are 3 “tiers” of heroes each with 5 heroes in;
Tier 3 costs 10 x 5* heroes ( Examples: Sargasso, Rana (no costume),
Tier 2 costs 15 x 5* heroes ( Examples: Alasie, Ursena (No costume))
Tier 1 costs 20 x 5* heroes ( Examples: Gravemaker, Skadi )

This is waaaaaay too much 20x5 for one 5 star hero? They do not grow on trees I earn them with my money or time and they want 20 of them for ONE?

Watched a leaked beta video.

Exchange your 5* dupes for the 5* that you want, from the list.

No gem payment. (I think asking for a gem payment is a tad much at this point, after making players spend on coins/gems to get their 5* dupes)

This initiative benefits veteran players and younger whales.

It’s a good move for these 2 groups of players.

My reaction = happy that there’s some progress. Sad that the number of dupes is minimum 10 (was hoping for some “cheaper” options for f2p and c2p; say 5?)

Just had a look at my roster and there are possibly 12 5s I have that I may be willing to give up as long as the replacement hero available seems worth it, I could maybe up this to 15, but it would leave me very tight and get rid of all dupes and vast majorityofmy unlevelled backlog. Will be very interested to see full tier list in order to determine if worth my time.

For the War of 3 kingdoms I am intrigued by this as it does sound fun, my only concern would be getting matched up with people who are far more competitive than me as part of my headmess is dealing with expectations people have of me and not fulfilling them, hence why I play in a more casual, relaxed alliance.

Well, that’s a splash of cold water on the excitement. I can’t imagine many people carrying around that many 5* dupes for the sake of carrying them. Maybe if someone had summoned hundreds and only got some duplicates, but even then, chances are they already have those heroes.

Thats ridiculous its a slap in the face for everyone in game except whales !

Well, I have counted 26 dupes of S1 5* heroes on 1.1, almost all of them from TC20. 3 more dupes levelled a bit (4 of them on 3.70) and a Grimble dupe form HA10.

If the list would look reasonable I may consider run second TC20 and be able to change 5* dupes to a new 5* hero every 5 months.

I am working on the topic on this Soul Exchange.

For the Global Beta of the Soul Exchange, would we keep the heroes we received when it ends? or will it be reversed?

So, I personally have a bunch of duplicates as well, and a few ascended, so I could exchange 20 for that tier 1 hero level, but like I said, not many people are going to be carrying that many unascended heroes for the sake of it. I do because there’s a minute chance I may decide to ascend them, and they are primarily S1 heroes. Most people will feed them away, and possibly keep a few for the HA10 retraining. And keep in mind that I’ve been playing for 3.5 years as F2P and only fed 1 hero away. So it still comes down to, a F2P will not generally find this useful, and only someone who is summoning a lot and got unlucky would make use of this only after a bad run of summons now. Usually they would have fed duplicates away because who has the AM to ascend them all and also they would take up roster space.

Edit: I should mention for the majority of the time (maybe 2 years), I had been running 2x TC20 and while I was luckier than others, I wouldn’t count on getting more than 1 hero every month or so. Starting from scratch, that would mean I would need at least a year depending on my luck.

Lol 20 heroes for outdated hotm?

I mean we don’t know the full list. Maybe there are some who are worth that, but to be honest, that’s more in the category joke.

My personal situation would be around 5 heroes I would exchange without regret.
Around 10 I would probably exchange 2,3 maybe 5 : 1.

But I for sure won’t exchange 20 halfway new hotm or something similar dupes for heroes like alasie. There I can just lvl those dupes. They may be not unique but probably each better than her. And definitely better for wars or towers where I get some rooster depth instead of limited variety.

This is for super old f2p hoarders. I don’t know how many exist who train 5* after 5* without leveling them or using them as food. Maybe a few.

Or for whales. But than, their lvl list is already long enough that they wait years for mats to lvl them all and if there are not some super op heroes in this exchange I doubt that they will get something better than they already have waiting.
From those few named here only skadi is maybe (big maybe) worth it. I will wait for the whole list for final thoughts…
