Or: How many summons are needed to get a Legendary Challenge Event Hero?

It’s important to remember that Challenge Event Heroes have EXTREMELY low summoning odds. No amount of summoning will guarantee a Challenge Event Hero.

On average, in a 10-pull, you have a 1.65% chance of summoning Isrod.

But that statistic can lead our minds astray in exactly how our odds play out as we continue summoning.

Some useful insights:

  • 15 times out of 100, you’ll get Isrod by pull 100 (26,000 gems)
  • 56 times out of 100, you’ll get Isrod by pull 500 (130,000 gems)
  • 95 times out of 100, you’ll get Isrod by pull 1,796 (467,200 gems)
  • 99 times out of 100, you’ll get Isrod by pull 2,761 (717,900 gems)

Putting that in Perspective

  • 85 out of every 100 people won’t get Isrod by the 100th pull

  • If 1 Million players each spent $259.97 (US) to summon :one::zero::zero: times, 846,364 of those players wouldn’t get Isrod

  • 5 out of every 100 people won’t get Isrod by the 1800th pull

  • If 1 Million players each spent $4,671.53 US to summon :one::eight::zero::zero: times, 49,663 of those players wouldn’t get Isrod

More Insights & Reading

I highly recommend reading these two threads for more information and context on summoning odds:

If you’ve read them a million times before, you may consider reading them again before deciding on your budget for summoning. A little time spent deciding on how much money you want to risk on summoning goes a long way to avoiding disappointment, frustration, and regret later.

This dude is cool I want one. Had him on my defence in beta each time took to +17, used as right flank. Shame not many people attacked me @Itty did do a few different versions of defence with him with selection of hero’s.
Def worth rings :sunglasses::+1:

Interesting I hadn’t previously thought about putting him on the wing. That can certainly change end game strategies.

Was right flank not wing, riposte be wasted that way.

Woops I misread. Flank makes a lot more sense.

I feel like he’s the worst hero of the LoV, he has a weaker hit, counterattack is only 80%, and it’s only a small increase to mana for each hit. I felt his first iteration was better: 260% hit, 100% counterattack, and a moderate increase to mana for each hit.

Yeah has been calmed down a bit from when he first arrived in beta. But that was to be expected. For me I could slot him in my defence or offence teams and found using on map stages alright aswell, pretty soild hero for my game.

A 5* Sumitumo. Hmnnnnnnnnnnn

He’s probably the one I liked the most from this event in beta. I saw him as a tank - also thanks to his class which makes him very sturdy. Counterattack is not something to be messed with, especially in some of the new raid formations where he will be able to cast it to whole team.

My guess is that him and Toxicandra will be the stars of this event.

Sumitomo to 3 targets literaly, which changes things completely, in my opinion

Shame Minotaur isnt the one with this ability, would prefer to show off Minotaur on defense to S1 knight

Not sure about 80% counterattack. I think it should be enough but in this meta with Frigg and Odin reposte Heroes are super valuable .

I agree it is a useful skill but when a new 5* hero has a weaker riposte compared to other 5* heroes (Sif at 100% and Elena - a S1 hero - at 125%) and weaker than 4* heroes as well (Sumitomo at 135% , Cyprian and Boring at 125%) it makes me wonder. I understand there are different factors like it being the only skill or the skill speed but still 80% to only caster and near by allies just doesn’t interest me or make me think it’ll make the enemy worry. Sometimes I still Finley on riposte heroes because I feel his damage is worth the counterattack.

Maybe I’ll have to see what people who pull him say, knowing my luck I’ll get him and not Toxicandra. Haha

Perhaps the small mana increase per hit does make him worth it, we’ll see

The problem with isrod and to an extent Sumitomo is that they don’t have a form of recovery. A really interesting counterattack mechanic, but there isn’t a way to sustain it. If he could regenerate a small amount of health on himself for even 3 turns, he would be so much better
He is best used as flank to support slow wings like mother north and Alby

Isrod is a versatile beast!

  1. You can use him as a great tank
  2. he will speed up your flanks
  3. he deals fine dmg to 3
  4. counterattacks can hurt on top

Most others counterattackers are finished by a simple dispel. He still deals dmg and earns some mana back.

Him and Toxicandra are my top priority and they work great together as well.

How much mana is gained from the counterattack? Moderate amount is too vague to gauge how good this hero really is.

It was nerfed from moderate amount to small amount in beta.

So, mine is at 3/70, and I’m looking for some feedback on in-game use. How are people finding him now that you’ve had some time to play around with him?

5 rings at the moment, so going to have to make a decision soon…

Thanks for the feedback!

He can be a pain in the *ss in double position, when he fires he gives his counter to all his allies… If your debuffer is not ready/dead, it’s quite complicated to put him down. He is pretty solid. Not a bad heroe in defense, if you want my opinion. I won’t talk about him in offense, since I don’t own him.

Thanks! I haven’t run into him once (raiding between 2600-3000).

Going to have to choose between him, JF, Reuben, cKhagan, Grazul2, or Lady Loki2.

Current maxed are cAzlar, Grazul, Kong, cElena, Red Hood, Lady Loki, Santa, Marj and Tyr.

Probably going to wait and see what comes out of season 4, if anything…
