  • If you think Boom & Fang is well-balanced, too strong, or too weak — why?

  • Are there specific, concrete suggestions you’d make to the game designers to alter Boom & Fang ? Or are there specific reasons you think they should remain unchanged?

Purpose of this thread:

To provide an aggregate place for the topic here on the forum; thus preventing there being a million threads popping up. And to provide an actual set of impartial votes rather than a Ideas & Feature Requests which has no real voting.

In short, to neaten the forum and to give players and outlet for their thoughts on his balance without bogging down the rest of the forum or the other Boom & Fang thread.




An extra skill is lacking for him, that’s all


Agree @Tidyup . I got B&F up to 3.70 to test out & there does feel like a skill is missing when using them.



Also, Boom & Bust really needs a somethin’ xtra…there is another goblin who spawns pretty much the same minion but also has skills…Madhammer I think…a snipe of dirext damage and 50% to do it again on top of the minion (and something else I forget but the point is that is not comparable to just the minion with a weak single counterattack…

To fix you could go in alot of directions:

Add no skills but make the minion do alot more damage…something like…

  • Increase damage of minion to 350% - 400%

Add no skills but have counterattack apply to near-by allies as well.

  • 100% Counterattack to self and nearby as long as mega minion is alive.

Add a new skill: to be different to madhammer maybe have boom&fang do a boom (bomb on a target that explodes after 3 turns) and/or fang to target and nearby which would poison…

  • Puts a bomb on the target that explodes after 3 turns dealing 300-400 damage to the target and nearby. AND Poisons the target and nearby for 300-400 damage over 3 turns.

Considering Madhammer, Boom and Fang seems very subpar.
Nothing needs to be changed if the minion gives the taunt skill. Then its a good tank character worth chasing. Some might think too powerful even though the taunter with counterattack mechanic exists.
Otherwise Boom can be ignored on defense, and its not too viable on offense.
So lower the counter attack percentage by 20% and give the character the Taunt skill whie the minion is up. Then you have balance.


Wanted to like this card but it needs wither/growth, or something else. Disappointing for the low odds in the portal


Yeah, this cute duo is missing wither/growth as well as an extra skill.
I’d suggest for the minion slash attack to hit all. That’ll be an interesting new mechanic.

He needs it badly! Have to address it

Boom and fang is absolutely weak. He does like nothing. For an average hero, 9 tiles, he does like nothing. He has to get some wither or growth. Unless this there is no way you can level him. He is not playable at the moment. Not for 3 attacking stack or support stack

I have him 2lb and use him with xiwangmu (3/70) and with tjat synergy he is really good, his minions often doing double damage. Goldie also comes for the ride and the two often blind the opponent

Often these two are the last heroes standing and clean up any defense left. I wouldnt say no to a buff but plenty happy with him as-is


Not long ago a guy posted (in another thread) a picture of Boom&Fang minion slashing a blue opponent (The opponent was a LB2 hero with 1100 def)

The slash did over 1800 dmg!

Yes it was a crit. But even hitting for 900ish dmg each round is NOT doing nothing.

If this hero is used correctly he can be nasty. There is a misunderstanding among ppl though that he should be the tank.

Right way to use him is flanking a red tank. So the opponent probably brings several blue heroes.

I have him and never use him. He doesn’t add or do enough. Needs an extra skill. Almost useless atm.

Totally agree. They added a small amount to minion damage but he doesn’t do nearly enough. Even leafehisk with growth feel like it isn’t enough. Wish they’d give them another more utility or something to their special. Useless unfortunately

I’ve seen the big mega minion guy with madhammer and leafwhisk as well. I presume that’s just pay off the mega minion thing, but was it ever announced? Seems like they are keeping a good feature under wraps.

The mega minions, when they hit the color they are strong against, hits for 500 v 100 damage. I’ll get a screen grab.

273 v 394 isn’t exactly 500% difference, but i feel like it is that big of a disparity in raids.
