In battles with multiple waves, the effect is refreshed at the beginning of each wave.

When this character casts their Special Skill, they dispel the newest status effect buff from all enemies.
:dizzy: Special Skill: Athena’s Bow
  • Deals 355% damage to a single enemy and minor damage to nearby enemies.
  • Targets get -41% defense, and a further -4% decrease every time that they are hit for 4 turns.
  • Deals extra damage against Fire.
  • Elemental Lnk gives all Ice allies +15% attack and +15% defense for 6 turns. This effect can’t be dispelled.

Past HotM are available from a number of locations depending on their age.

As Athena has been released for >24 months, she can ONLY be summoned in the Tavern of Legends Portal.
She can also be “Trained” using the Hero Academy Level 10.

HotM’s which are >12 months of age are added to the summons pool in the Tavern of Legends Portal.

Hero Academy Level 10 Retraining
HotM’s which are >12 months of age are also added as a possible outcome of Hero Academy Level 10 Retraining.

It’s important to remember that the Tavern of Legends Portal has the lowest odds for a specific hero of ANY portal… No amount of summoning will guarantee a Featured Hero.

You have a 0.25% chance of summoning a specific Featured Past HotM from the Tavern of Legends Portal (0.0125% for a specific Non-Featured).

On average, in a 10-pull, you have a 2.47% chance of summoning a particular Featured Past HotM (0.12% chance for a specific Non-Featured & 12.27% chance for ANY Past HotM).

But that statistic can lead our minds astray in exactly how our odds play out as we continue summoning.

Some useful insights:

(Each 30x Summons costs 8,000 gems or ~$79.99 USD).

Got this beauty also during the early months of Atlantis, along with Ares and Alberich. She has been maxed and emblemed. Even if she was nerfed several times, she still sees action even when I maxed her in 2018, especially against red tanks and red titans. Frida, Ariel and Master Lepus (formerly my 3/70 Richard but he was benched by the blue hare) are her best buddies. Still yearning for the other 2 winged heroines though (looking at you Hel and Zeline).

Hey all, I just got Athena recently and she is strong enough now to start making some exploratory outings on titans, war teams, etc.

I wanted to confirm I am understanding her D drop correctly as it relates to when I have her and Grimm on the same team. As I understand it currently I should fire Grimm first and then Athena. If I fire Athena first and Grimm second Grimm’s special overrides Athena’s into effect and I lose the continued dropped D per Athena’s special. Is that correct?

Also, side bar question on titans. For the continued D drop from Athena’s power do even non damage causing tiles cause the D value to drop? If so, that’s awesome.

If you have Nordri… +20 Nordri will boost scores way higher than either Triton or Grimm.

Same for Miki/Tarlak/Wu/Gazelle

I got miki at last atlantis I’m levelling the S3 badger dude and then gunner and costume. As low on capes at the moment and compasses iv only got 3. So gotta think how I’m gonna use them as pulling at pirates aswell could change things aswell.
Plus actually only have valen and gato as 3* Blue so adding a few more to me rosta also nice to take a break from levelling 5*.

Alas, no Nodri. Based purely on attack stats my red titan titan team is Kiril +20, Grimm +18, Magni +7, Wu +20, then Athena (currently 53/80). She is replacing Sonya +20.

Yes.

I don’t have Athena. But I leverage the def drop through no-hero tiles while using C.Brienne.

Since both their specials have the same mechanic, I am assuming the same holds true for Athena too.

Yeah Athena will add the boost to your titan score my have changed since iv using her. Just like some more blue tiles so can see the mass damage. :woman_shrugging:

Hi everyone, I’m looking for your eternal wisdom again.

I recently maxed my Athena and have started to use her more frequently - love her! I’m also planning to start embleming, at least to + 8, her as I use her so much. I have two questions though.

I’m very torn between attack and shield path. What would you recommend? Her special is of course the most important part, so some say shield path but at the same time you get some def/hp in a sword path version. I kinda want to do swords, but I am not sure if that is stupid.

Second, for other colours, I use C Vivica on Purple Titans and Wilbur on green titans. I don’t have any green def down, and (C) Tibs + 19 for purple def down. Would it be worthwhile move my ranger emblems from Tibs to Athena and use her on red, blue and yellow titans?

Mine is at +7 all swords path. I have been sharing my ranger emblems to several of my heroes: Athena, Seshat, Lianna and Eve.

For green defense down, the only heroes to do this are Frigg, Buddy and costumed Brienne. I think you’ll score better if you focus on doing mono or 4-1 against titans (the off-color hero should be the tile booster, i.e. Miki, Tarlak, Gazelle, Ranvir or Wu Kong). Remember, titan score is dependent on the tiles. The stronger the tiles, the better. I suggest maintaining Tiburtus against holy titans for defense down, though Cheshire Cat offers the most defense down at -44% than Tibs’ or Kunch’s -34%. Against blue titans, you need to have Frigg, Buddy and costumed Brienne (who dont deal damage but has Athena-like defense down).

Imo, for offense I leaned more on her special skill than the damage dealing, and have used her in raids, wars and Titan but found that she dies quickly, since I need her to last long enough to deliver her skills, so I went the def/HP.

I went full attack on Athena to 18, with the exception of opting for the mana node. While some heroes are truly all about their special effects, Athena actually does real damage, so I opted to boost that. She serves quite well on titan and raid duty, but I expect she would be more viable on defense with a sturdier build.

As far as titans go, my understanding is that the level of defense down is a much stronger factor than having a fourth on color hero, especially when their tile damage is likely not exceptional. I have experimented with a highly emblemed Tibs against yellow titans and he cannot hold a candle to Athena. The only titans that Athena doesn’t get the nod on for me are greens and, obviously, rare blues. Even in the case of green titans, I use Wilbur as much for his defensive boost as anything, as my red team is fragile enough and time stops are pricey.

Thank you all for your answers. It’s interesting to see the debate between def down/colour tile dmg. It seems there is not a definite answer yet. I find that really surprising as so many here love to crunch numbers :stuck_out_tongue:

Same here. I use Athena for every titan (apart from blue reflect - but everything else yes, including green), and often times bring on offense. That defense-down works wonders.

As someone who uses Athena on 14 star titans on a regular basis, I think my alliance mate @Vikingblood80 will be more than happy to share his wisdom. So tagging him here. :slight_smile:

Same here. Full attack +18. She is part of my defence team, war team and almost every titan (except blue reflect and except green titans).
Even on attack path she is ok- sturdy.

Right now I have a blue mana troop lvl 15. My plan is to reset the emblem path for mana node nr 8 that together with troop lvl 17 she will charge in 9 tiles to be synchronized with costumed Kiril and costumed Richard…need to lvl that troop first to 17.

Think I will priorize attack again after the reset.
This also increases her direct damage against reds.

Yes…think so. I did exactly the same. Why not use her on purple titans, too? Athena + Wu + 3 yellows yield very good titan results…14*

Truly speaking…-65% highest possible value in the game.

The reason I didn’t mention purple Titans was that I just maxed C Vivica, so I can go mono yellow for those titans and have a good def down + healer in one. Then, my yellow team is not super good so I could replace Neith or Roc (both unemblemed) with Athena I guess…
