Or: How many summons are needed to get a HOTM?

Special thanks to @Garanwyn for assistance on summoning odds and proofreading for this section.

It’s important to remember that HOTM have very low summoning odds. No amount of summoning will guarantee a HOTM.

On average, in a 10-pull, you have a 12.3% chance of summoning the HOTM.

But that statistic can lead our minds astray in exactly how our odds play out as we continue summoning.

Some useful insights:

  • 73 times out of 100, you’ll get a HOTM by pull 100
  • 95 times out of 100, you’ll get a HOTM by pull 229
  • 99 times out of 100, you’ll get a HOTM by pull 352

Putting that in Perspective

  • 27 out of every 100 people won’t get the HOTM by the 100th pull

  • If 1 Million players each summoned 100 times, 270,000 of those players wouldn’t get the HOTM

  • 5 out of every 100 people won’t get the HOTM by the 229th pull

  • If 1 Million players each summoned 229 times, 50,000 of those players wouldn’t get the HOTM

More Insights & Reading

I highly recommend reading these two threads for more information and context on summoning odds:

If you’ve read them a million times before, you may consider reading them again before deciding on your budget for summoning. A little time spent deciding on how much money you want to risk on summoning goes a long way to avoiding disappointment, frustration, and regret later.

 Wondering About Your Personal Situation?

Feel free to discuss your team and roster here, and ask for advice from other Forum members.

If you’d like more extensive advice on sorting out your particular roster, I recommend creating a new thread in #gameplay-help-tactics, and posting screenshots of your hero roster, along with your questions.

:bulb: Have an Insight on Ranvir’s Game Mechanics?

This thread is a great place to discuss anything and everything related to Ranvir.

Once those discussions have yielded notable insights, I encourage others to make reference guides in #player-guides that synopsize specific questions and answers about Ranvir.

Topics that are most appropriate for that are ones that players are likely to be searching for or wondering about in the future.

Creating a guide is a good way to make that information findable in the future without having to read through a ton of posts. You can make use of the Forum quote feature to avoid having to rewrite explanations that have already been well written.

Here’s an example of such a post: [GUIDE] How does the Queen of Hearts’ Taunt work with AoE specials, or specials affecting nearby enemies in addition to the target?

7% to miss more than wu might make a big difference as sometimes it feels like wu miss 99%
But hope the 20% extra attack will cover that up
Also he hits the target hard before releasing his skill which is nice and he is fast
Hopefully will get him with the tokens i have saved for him, if i didnt get him will wait till atlantis to use the gems (hopefully i can hold my self)
I know some will say wait for summer event for the heroes but honestly i didnt like them much last year and thx to the beta beat topics i dont think there are any changes to them

  • Will he make you main team?
    No
  • Will you use him on Defense? Offense? Quests/Events? Titans?
    Yes
  • Will you give Ranvir Druid emblems? Which Talent Grid path will you choose?
As i lack leveled druid heroes (except melia+20) i might do
  • What do you think of his special?
    Great skill
  • What do you think of his character design?
Hope i dont forget to answer the question after release time

Slightly off on both, but the proportions are about the same — 3% more accuracy debuff, and 10% more attack:

Sand Empire is currently expected June 25, so you’d be able to summon with your EHT during that, and also have a shot for Ranvir.

I think he’s one of the most distinctive heroes so far — but you have to see his full view, not just the cropped image on the card.

 was checking an old data and forgot to check the beta topic

The cropped image i saw (cant give source publicly) seems like he is sitting on something or have weird legs, hopefully i get to see the full image soon

I already have Tarlak, so my interest is limited. If I pull him, I will probably take him to 3.70 (so no emblems). His special and element link suggest that he will be great for dark titans.

I don’t know what a “main team” is. If you mean, PvE, no, he won’t be replacing Delilah.

I like that he hits as well as the buff and the element defense buff is great for titans, I also just like that he’s a little tougher than Wu kong. He’s the new titan MVP. Strictly an upgrade to Wu kong. Looks like his design changed from a couple months ago when I saw a leak. He was very fast mana with the special skill having more of a swing in percentages, it was like 215% attack boost and 40% accuracy debuff or something. Still looks great, hoping to get lucky.

I don’t know that I’ll be pursuing him very hard as I’m so far behind the curve for darts and he wouldn’t be seeing 80 for a good long while, not to mention Kingston looking to be the new GOAT so I’ll be saving to pursue that. I do think that Ranvir will be pretty solid all around. His hit is going to be right around the same as a Sonya hit (~300ish) so not huge, but relevant, and his special I think is going to have a lot more potential on defensive flank and in team comps other than 4:1 or mono than some people are giving it credit for. Put him behind an Ursena tank on defense and suddenly she is the destroyer of worlds if she goes off. Sure, it isn’t going to be consistent, but the win rate is already so heavily favoring attackers that I think the gamble is worth it. At the very least it may discourage some from attacking that lineup as they’d rather face a more consistent team than gamble with their flags. On offense, the on/off mechanism can help facilitate comebacks but not potentially cost you a win if you’re far ahead in the match.

Once I ll get him, what will I do with Wu Kong ?

He’ll be a beast against purple titans, especially especially with that 46% defense link and I like that he can hit.

I don’t understand the druid thing though. He gives me wizard/sorcerer vibes.

Question?
Does his special only work if the enemy has more health?
Meaning………. If the enemy has less or equal health its a waste to use his special?

Yes he is basically a titan specialist. SG has made it so he won’t be OP in raids and wars.

I’m confused by this, too. It would explain why he’s fast.

Yeah. He looks amazing but it is something that’s specific for Titans. It could be good if he fires right before you almost lose in a battle but realistically that’s it. I do love that he is fast however.

His special does not have the “chance to miss also effects offense special” like wu kong.
Interesting…does any beta user have more on it? Scroll through the beta post but I found nothing regarding that

oh so the +195% attack also only applies when the enemy’s health is above the attacker’s?

Save him for tournaments and bring both to the titans to keep up awesome tile damage during the whole fight…

I always wanted to know what does OP mean?

He’s only good for purple titans. His double negative over wu kong of higher accuracy loss and requiring more health make him less ideal then wu kong in most instances… on titans you generally don’t want to miss the weak spot which he is even more prone to do.

I personally think he needed to have no more then 32% accuracy loss.

If I got him I’d level to 4/80 no emblems those are on zimkitha. I’d still try for tarlak to replace him. He’s a side grade to wu .
