Element: Fire/Red

Stats: 698 attack, 793 defense, 1279 health

  • Deals 215% damage to all enemies. (Also a recent update)

Or: How many summons are needed to get a HOTM?

Special thanks to @Garanwyn for assistance on summoning odds and proofreading for this section.

It’s important to remember that HOTM have very low summoning odds. No amount of summoning will guarantee a HOTM.

On average, in a 10-pull, you have a 12.3% chance of summoning the HOTM.

But that statistic can lead our minds astray in exactly how our odds play out as we continue summoning.

Some useful insights:

  • 73 times out of 100, you’ll get a HOTM by pull 100
  • 95 times out of 100, you’ll get a HOTM by pull 229
  • 99 times out of 100, you’ll get a HOTM by pull 352

Putting that in Perspective

  • 27 out of every 100 people won’t get the HOTM by the 100th pull

  • If 1 Million players each summoned 100 times, 270,000 of those players wouldn’t get the HOTM

  • 5 out of every 100 people won’t get the HOTM by the 229th pull

  • If 1 Million players each summoned 229 times, 50,000 of those players wouldn’t get the HOTM

More Insights & Reading

I highly recommend reading these two threads for more information and context on summoning odds:

If you’ve read them a million times before, you may consider reading them again before deciding on your budget for summoning. A little time spent deciding on how much money you want to risk on summoning goes a long way to avoiding disappointment, frustration, and regret later.

 Wondering About Your Personal Situation?

Feel free to discuss your team and roster here, and ask for advice from other Forum members.

If you’d like more extensive advice on sorting out your particular roster, I recommend creating a new thread in #gameplay-help-tactics, and posting screenshots of your hero roster, along with your questions.

:bulb: Have an Insight on Anzogh’s Game Mechanics?

This thread is a great place to discuss anything and everything related to Anzogh.

Once those discussions have yielded notable insights, I encourage others to make reference guides in #player-guides that synopsize specific questions and answers about Anzogh.

Topics that are most appropriate for that are ones that players are likely to be searching for or wondering about in the future.

Creating a guide is a good way to make that information findable in the future without having to read through a ton of posts. You can make use of the Forum quote feature to avoid having to rewrite explanations that have already been well written.

Here’s an example of such a post: [GUIDE] How does the Queen of Hearts’ Taunt work with AoE specials, or specials affecting nearby enemies in addition to the target?

Is the healing calculated before or after defense is applied?

Ie - is healing amount reduced by defense because it’s DD - instead of a dot?

Yes, it’s direct damage, and immediate heal based on actual damage dealt.

So any defense stats, troops, Atlantis families, or status effects that diminish Anzogh’s damage dealt will also diminish the healing applied. The amount of healing is directly dependent on damage dealt, and in no way fixed.

An interesting result of that is that Anzogh is most effective when there are more targets to hit. As a battle wears on and there are fewer targets, he’ll do less damage…and correspondingly heal less.

On Defense, that tends to make him better suited to Tank or Flank, where he’s more likely to fire while there are more targets remaining. He’s less likely to be useful in a corner, where he’ll do little when last standing.

Likewise, on Offense, he’s more effective early in a battle.

And he’s not particularly well suited to Titans, given the AoE damage and single target with a high Defense.

Big Boldie with a little bit of Aegir and Frida. A nice one to tank with two Evelyns on his flanks. Hel and Delilah on the wings or two Fridas.

He’s unique for being damage dealing healer, but I think lack of any buff that comes with it will place him behind other healers. I would not waste a slot for him. I prefer specialized healers, he seems like a bad hybrid that is not good at either damaging and heal.

And owl-tier for titan fights. Never going to replace Boldtusk there.

Perfect tank.
Devastating for the stack against him, if he’ll cast and if he’ll die not a big loss.

Technically he has the Element Link defense against ice. But that’s of pretty minor use for Defense, where you’re less likely to color stack.

ok, I’m inclined to say I’d take this Anzogh as released.

The cure in beta was also like that? 20% of the total for each partner? I had read that the cure was despicable but, assuming that you hit a team that is complete, and that on average make a damage per hero of 300, that would also be the cure average, not great, but not bad

I don’t know if he would make my defense team. Maybe as a flank together with QoH and Aegir tank.
He’s definitely no titan fighter, but he could replace Boldtusk in all other teams. Anzogh & Zimkitty would be interesting.

I don’t see him as a must have or game changer in any way, but it would be nice to have him. Saved a few Epic tokens for Springvale, so maybe I have a shot at him.

Yes, that’s unchanged. He actually used to do a higher damage amount when he was Slow, which effectively made the healing amount higher — but also less frequent.

But the healing percentage itself is the same.

Sad they took the -crit away thought that was unique

He looks constipated. And red. And wizard. So much competition and dilemmas!

Now seeing him released I even have worse opinion of him. Definitely not going to chase after him - he seems as mediocre as old Aegir.

Glad to have a gap month, although it’s the Guardians ahead so I still may pull some and get him by accident.

@Suicide_Bunny you know you’re going to pull him now don’t you??? :joy:

Finally there is a month on this game I wont be wasting money on gems. With the upcoming event characters not tickling my pickle and anzogh special only being at full potential, when all enemies are alive and no status alignments being used. Anzogh in my opinion is as useful as deflated armbands. Really need a 5* red, so bit gutted but in all honesty the way A.M is showing up these days I probably would never max him anyway Haha. This is only my 2 pence others my love him

SG probably should have increased his healing percentage after they decreased his special’s damage. I can see him being useful on offense, but his value goes way down as opposing heroes begin to die. He would be much more viable if the healing percentage went up as the number of opposing heroes went down. This would also make him more useful on titans.

Hey guys,

what you think of the new orcish guy?
I really like the style and for me as a beginner it seems this leeching/healing for all heroes is kind of a new mechanic?

I really want to have him, don’t have any HOTM yet. I really hope for him…

Didn’t even realize that the month changed and just got him. I’d love to know if he’s any good since the only other 5* i ever got is atomos.
