Avoiding Overspending & Heartache
Or: How many summons are needed to get a Valhalla Rare Hero?
It’s important to remember that Season 3 Valhalla Heroes have EXTREMELY low summoning odds. No amount of summoning will guarantee a Season 3 Hero.
On average, in a 10-pull, you have a 13.7% chance of summoning Fura.
But that statistic can lead our minds astray in exactly how our odds play out as we continue summoning.
Some useful insights:
36 times out of 100, you’ll get Fura by pull 30
59 times out of 100, you’ll get Fura by pull 60
95 times out of 100, you’ll get Fura by pull 203
99 times out of 100, you’ll get Fura by pull 314
Putting that in Perspective
64 out of every 100 people won’t get Fura by the 30th pull
If 1 Million players each summoned 30 times, 640,000 of those players wouldn’t get Fura
5 out of every 100 people won’t get Fura by the 203rd pull
If 1 Million players each summoned 203 times, 50,000 of those players wouldn’t get Fura
More Insights & Reading
I highly recommend reading these threads for more information and context on summoning odds:
If you’ve read them a million times before, you may consider reading them again before deciding on your budget for summoning. A little time spent deciding on how much money you want to risk on summoning goes a long way to avoiding disappointment, frustration, and regret later.
She is a mini-Alfrike: cuts down the enemy health
She deals damage: decent enough
She cuts down enemy’s healing by half: very good, imo
So, mixing in with C.Rigard, and C.Tibs - you’re getting an attack boost for your team + def down on enemy team + reduced enemy heroes’ max hp + reduced healing for the enemy team.
If these 3 get going in a team… the enemy team will slowly choke towards almost certain death.
Bonus Addition: Add Proteus (or Hel, if you have) in the same purple stack. The enemies can’t gain mana either.
Certain death for them!
The 100 hp reduction is quite ridiculous. Especially that there’s an attack before, so it just prevent going full health again (but 100 HP still… common!). The heal debuff is OK, but potentially a bit redundant with the health reduction.
Unless the health reduction overrides the health buff from other heroes? In this case OK this may be a good counter.
I don’t know what to think about this health buff/debuff from S3 heroes.
I’m not very excited about her - looks to be just your average hero. They looked to create something unique but imho we just got a worse version of Jabbar. He’s coming back in about a month, so if you want someone who reduces healing and deals some damage, I suggest waiting for him.
I just pulled her with coins. She is my first S3 non-3* (finally).
At first glance she definitely isn’t top shelf, but she certainly seems usable. Especially if one doesn’t have top shelf players. The heal debuff could maybe help after an Azlar strike or something? I don’t know, I will need to think on her more in that regard.
What is winning me over though is she is a wizard. I lack hitters (at least non healers) in my wizard trials and she would certainly see use there.
Her effect is effectively a counter to the health boost effect. This might be useful in fights against those heroes. But yeah, she doesn’t look very threatening at first glance.
Thanks for the info.
I am [slowly] working on Fura right now. I have her at about 4/10. I can only add about 3 or 4 emblems to her but for now that will suffice, but it will be nice to add her on my Dark Team, or at least switch it up with her in stuff etc.
I think with most of these heroes that reduce max health, they won’t go more than 200 or 300 (in the case of Fura, for example). Average speed and in wars/raids, how many times will you set her special off on offense, I doubt more than 2 or 3. But at least she does damage to all and they get the -50% healing
And I think she is underrated. That HP reduction is a complete b**** to remove. Even if you have a hero that can boost HP (which is usually a bit lower than usual healing; the highest is for Heimdall at 500), if the HP is too low to reach removed HP, it stays removed. And since Fura cuts healing, well…
She is designed to cripple healers and most specifically healing boosters. With Almur she would be a nasty pair.
My first, too-quick impression was that she is not very impactful. The 100 HP reduction seems rather mild.
But… if I understand the mechanics correctly, the HP reduction and healing decrease have synergy together against direct healing, as this type of heal adds a percentage of max HP - which has just been lowered. If this is not how it works, someone set me straight, please (this is my first hero that either adds or removes max HP, and I haven’t used her yet).
It should also be good against strong event bosses I’m thinking, as the HP reduction (similar to DoT effects) is not going to care how high defense is. Although it’s still only 100. Could be interesting to have 2 in a stack like @Muchacho said.
Until I have her leveled enough to put her in action, it’s just theory… but I’m thinking now she’s better than I initially thought, though probably somewhat situational at least (which is fine, not every hero is going to be a super all rounder).
