Avoiding Overspending & Heartache
Or: How many summons are needed to get a Valhalla Rare Hero?
It’s important to remember that Season 3 Valhalla Heroes have EXTREMELY low summoning odds. No amount of summoning will guarantee a Season 3 Hero.
On average, in a 10-pull, you have a 41% chance of summoning Ei-Dunn.
But that statistic can lead our minds astray in exactly how our odds play out as we continue summoning.
Some useful insights:
65 times out of 100, you’ll get Ei-Dunn by pull 20
95 times out of 100, you’ll get Ei-Dunn by pull 57
99 times out of 100, you’ll get Ei-Dunn by pull 87
Putting that in Perspective
35 out of every 100 people won’t get Ei-Dunn by the 20th pull
If 1 Million players each summoned 20 times, 350,000 of those players wouldn’t get Ei-Dunn
5 out of every 100 people won’t get Ei-Dunn by the 57th pull
If 1 Million players each summoned 57 times, 50,000 of those players wouldn’t get Ei-Dunn
More Insights & Reading
I highly recommend reading these threads for more information and context on summoning odds:
If you’ve read them a million times before, you may consider reading them again before deciding on your budget for summoning. A little time spent deciding on how much money you want to risk on summoning goes a long way to avoiding disappointment, frustration, and regret later.
Welp, got my first Frost Giant; at this point, I’m unsure how to view her. I’ll max her out and spin her through a few applications, but I’m guessing she’ll be fast mana tourney use only.
I have only done one pull on Valhalla as I was/am going to wait for March in the hope of getting the HotM. But I have no patience at all and could not resist one little pull on the first day.
Ei-Dunn is the one that my solitary pull gave me. Firstly, very pleased that I got a new hero and not a season 1 3*.
I see that unlevelled she has higher stats that any of my other three star heroes in a similar state of neglect so I am hopeful that she might be a good hero to level for events and challenges. Unfortunately she is in a very long queue for levelling up fire heroes so it will probably be a while before I use her for anything other than farming and testing her dynamics.
Will certainly go in my 3* event team (along with Bauchan, Rudolf, Namahage)…
She’s not the most attacking stats-wise, but 220% is much more to three than Bauchan and the two together should mana cut AND slow which will be useful in later stages.
She’ll probably do okay as a 3* defence tank (but with a +18 shrubbear on board she’s not getting the job in my teams!)
I’ve almost maxed Ei-Dunn, who is great btw, and now I need to know… WHO would you work on next? And in which order? None of them are leveled except as indicated .
I have:
Another Ei-Dunn
Namahage x2 (1 at +19)
Squire Wabbit
Hawkmoon + Costume
Rudolph
Bauchan
Nashgar
Jahangir
Are there any not worth the feeders?
And, finally, which emblem path would you take with Ei-Dunn attack or defense?
I’ve been reading that somewhere but I think Ei-Dunn is better most likely because of her health (484 vs Chochin’s 394). I didn’t even know Chochin was any good. I would’ve leveled him up by now. He’s been on the bench for a long time.
Chochin maxed is 413atk, 512 def, 684 HP. Ei-dunn has significantly more HP but a bit less defense. I guess she’s slightly sturdier than Chochin overall but still mediocre imo.
I have her teamed up with Bauchan on the rare Teltoc event currently and they are doing great.
I am past the point of using 3’s for much else in my play, but if I weren’t she is absolutely a usable 3*. Especially against bosses, elite enemy stages, raids against comparable teams, etc.
Yes I meant comparing their special skills. Any numbers to back it up? C.Azar has significantly higher attack stat even tho she does less %dmg in her special
