This thread is to provide early insights and discussion on the February 2025 HOTM, Mystia

All Information from Beta is Subject to Change!

Don’t get attached

Details from beta, especially brand-new beta content, don’t tend to be very reliable for actual hero release.

It’s incredibly common that heroes are changed during beta testing, or sometimes even after testing but before release. That is, after all, the purpose of beta testing.

So I wouldn’t get too attached to any of this — it’s not unheard of for entire portions of skills to be removed or reworked, or for radical changes to stats to be made.

Mystia Beta Info & Stats (Extremely Likely to Change)

Fancy name: Mesmerizing Enchantress

Gender: Female
Power: 1063

Attack: 1095
Defense: 1093
HP: 1777

Element: :leaves: Nature (Geen)

Class: Sorcerer
Family: Legends 2025
Aether Power: Ailment Immunity

Passives are missing from the hero.

Mana Speed: Average

Special Skill: Mesmerizing Mirror

  • All enemies become Soul Connected for 4 turns. Soul Connected enemies share received damage.
  • All allies generate 600 boosted health over 4 turns. Boosted health can exceed max HP.
  • All allies reflect all status effects and 145% damage back to the attacker and block other negative effects from enemies’ Fire Special Skill for 4 turns. (Status effects cast by characters, Minions and Fiends on the same side cannot be reflected.)
  • Element Link gives all Nature allies +30% defense against Special Skills for 4 turns. This effect cannot be dispelled.

Or: How many summons are needed to get a HOTM?

Special thanks to @Garanwyn for assistance on summoning odds and proofreading for this section.

It’s important to remember that HOTM have very low summoning odds. No amount of summoning will guarantee a HOTM.

On average, in a 10-pull, you have a 12.3% chance of summoning the HOTM.

But that statistic can lead our minds astray in exactly how our odds play out as we continue summoning.

Some useful insights:

  • 73 times out of 100, you’ll get a HOTM by pull 100
  • 95 times out of 100, you’ll get a HOTM by pull 229
  • 99 times out of 100, you’ll get a HOTM by pull 352

Putting that in Perspective

  • 27 out of every 100 people won’t get the HOTM by the 100th pull

  • If 1 Million players each summoned 100 times, 270,000 of those players wouldn’t get the HOTM

  • 5 out of every 100 people won’t get the HOTM by the 229th pull

  • If 1 Million players each summoned 229 times, 50,000 of those players wouldn’t get the HOTM

More Insights & Reading

I highly recommend reading these two threads for more information and context on summoning odds:

If you’ve read them a million times before, you may consider reading them again before deciding on your budget for summoning. A little time spent deciding on how much money you want to risk on summoning goes a long way to avoiding disappointment, frustration, and regret later.

Ooooo, a Legendary Green hero for Shared Damage. Finally someone to replace Dolgoon.

Just another underwhelming HOTM… he does not even do def down, which is a common skill for such hero - c.Gunnar, Wilbur, Dolgoon etc. so that at least they can be challenge event specialist.

The 600 boosted health over 4 turn is equally pathetic.

Designed to shut down bearnadette meta?

You have this backward. Your examples place soul connection on their allies.

Not sure the purpose of her soul connection to the enemies, this will made the enemies become harder to be defeated.

Just wait for the March hotm “deal an additional +300% damage if the ennemies are soul connected”

Looks like a decent hitter

Hardly, one thing for which Bearnedette is annoying is dispel, so Red Reflect goes bye bye before she hits.

On the other hand definitely a good hero to have for challenges. Slower than Cindy and affects only enemies, but faster than Ilmarinen. I think I genuinely like this one, because she has two rare skills (enemy soul-link AND red reflect) and also overheals a bit. I just hope she gets some good passives.

No need to worry, the Red Reflect also prevents the dispel of Fire heroes. Also this hero looks pretty decent: but maybe the Soul Connected shouldn’t go to enemies, since they don’t have (elemental) defense down.

Ah yes, you’re right, I always forget about that.

Nope my friend.

c.Gunnar does soul connection to the enemies;
Wilbur does soul connection to both allies and enemies;
Dolgoon does soul connection to allies on first charge but to enemies on second charge.

lol 2025 and boost health for 600 in the age of ever increasing power rush hero easily have over 3000HP, 600 is merely 20% and it will be decreasing as hero HP increases with each power rush. Lame healing is getting obsolete.

If you had a fiend of 20+% on a hero over 3000HP it wouldn’t even clear it lolol :rofl::rofl:. (not taking the +healing% you might or might not have on troops/talent node)

Isn’t “Soul Connected” a buff? So this hero… buffs the enemy? Why is this even here?

Strategies can be build towards that.

Cool idea but she needs DEF down OR increase that mediocre healing.

Shared damage is very interesting for a green one.

Maat can give the defense down needed.

It’s gonna be useful in events if I can build around her

I’m saving all my pulls for February because of the Fated Summon new batch

Great hero for Events.

Those that don’t even try on Events will say this is a useless hero.

Those that try hard on Events will say this is a useful one.

I dont understand why people are saying this isnt good

"reflecting an element’ is a ludicrously strong effect, probably the strongest effect in the game. Any hero that has that effect is dangerous for game balance since its such a hard counter – if red heroes can be reflected, then running red damage dealers on defence becomes a bad idea. Having reflection widely available on a HOTM (rather than on a niche hard-to-obtain card) doesnt seem like a good idea.

Compare this card to costume Ahmose for example: 🌑 Costumed Ahmose – Season 5 Costume – 5* Nature / Green: Thoughts, Discussion & Summon Results with Feedback

Ahmose has a batter special skill (440% damage is better than restoring 600 health, and the Soul Connection is probably a liability) but this is Average rather than Slow, so I think its probably just as good. If its true that Bearnadette’s dispel doesnt work against this, then Bearnadette is a dead hero come Feburary…

Thje only reason this card isnt outright amazing is the Soul Connection, which is an annoying effect that you dont really want. But its still a really good tech card and imo better than any 2024 HOTM

So hotms have worse stats than other heroes released at the same time, have lower damage and/or healing than other heroes released at the same time, and mostly have worse passives and family bonus than other heroes released at the same time, but we should also not give them useful abilities.
