This thread is to provide early insights and discussion on the April, 2022 HOTM, Silvaria

All Information from Beta is Subject to Change!

Don’t get attached

Details from beta, especially brand-new beta content, don’t tend to be very reliable for actual hero release.

It’s incredibly common that heroes are changed during beta testing, or sometimes even after testing but before release. That is, after all, the purpose of beta testing.

So I wouldn’t get too attached to any of this — it’s not unheard of for entire portions of skills to be removed or reworked, or for radical changes to stats to be made.

Or: How many summons are needed to get a HOTM?

Special thanks to @Garanwyn for assistance on summoning odds and proofreading for this section.

It’s important to remember that HOTM have very low summoning odds. No amount of summoning will guarantee a HOTM.

On average, in a 10-pull, you have a 12.3% chance of summoning the HOTM.

But that statistic can lead our minds astray in exactly how our odds play out as we continue summoning.

Some useful insights:

  • 73 times out of 100, you’ll get a HOTM by pull 100
  • 95 times out of 100, you’ll get a HOTM by pull 229
  • 99 times out of 100, you’ll get a HOTM by pull 352

Putting that in Perspective

  • 27 out of every 100 people won’t get the HOTM by the 100th pull

  • If 1 Million players each summoned 100 times, 270,000 of those players wouldn’t get the HOTM

  • 5 out of every 100 people won’t get the HOTM by the 229th pull

  • If 1 Million players each summoned 229 times, 50,000 of those players wouldn’t get the HOTM

More Insights & Reading

I highly recommend reading these two threads for more information and context on summoning odds:

If you’ve read them a million times before, you may consider reading them again before deciding on your budget for summoning. A little time spent deciding on how much money you want to risk on summoning goes a long way to avoiding disappointment, frustration, and regret later.

That summon on burn immediately stands out as nice

Forest familiar summoned by skill looks average, while forest guardian summoned by passive are huge.
Def down on greens could be nice, applying debuff before hit it’s something rare (idk if this is the only hero doing this), however the average speed and single target output makes her less appealing.
Looks Better than zagrog, but worse than Iris as my initial looks

So a question about resistance to minion removal.

How does this work for fiend interaction if the hero has 3 minions? When the likes of Elizabeth fire it would normally replace a minion with a fiend in those circs so if this hero has 3 minions already (or a combination of 3 heroes/ fiends with the oldest being a minion) is she immune to new fiends as there is no spot for them to take without removing a minion.

For def down green heroes there are already a lot that are faster and looks stronger then this HoTM. Not to overly excited about this hero to be honest. So far Iris is the best (still don’t have her yet).

This perfectly reflects my feelings.

Defense down first is nice.

But is silvaria really that much different from Buddy? Better stats. Better passives. But not a hero I need. I wouldn’t use against red tanks since it’s off color. So ideal for blue tank with burning flanks. That’s not my biggest concern right now.

Things that would make me more impressed:
More damage or defense down
Hits more
More minion health

I find the innate passives amusing. Summons some kindling for the fire dmg it took, anyone? :joy:

But now also, there’s an interesting twist, applies def down then the damage! And paired with barbarian class, not too bad, it’d be an interesting hero to get i’d say.

Above average. If he were an event hero he would be faster, would do -54% defense down, 450% damage. I’m not asking that much because the greed makes it impossible, but -44% defense down would be more reliable and realistic.

I know you want to keep HOTM trash because they’re cheaper but with the recent releases that won’t be as effective as many other heroes.

Oh the SS minion stats are mediocre.

Another useless HOTM. Avg speed with low dmg and while burn enemies are fast.

You are saying this like it is a bad thing but isn’t actually a good thing? Burn damage will give this hero the beefiest minion to date, 35% HP and attack is huge. On defense you’ll prevent people from taking burn heroes, and on offence you’ll bring this hero against any team that does burn damage. Niche, but far from useless.

That being said the hit seems a little weak, id like to see the D down to target and near by and minor damage to near by. Maybe add in a little extra health to the minions? 13-15%? Add that in and this is a solid hero.

I’d love to see the def down go to target and near by enemies. Keep the rest and you have a great hero.

This HotM has an interesting concept. However the damage seems very mediocre. Plus the 9% health inherited for the minions is at such a low amount that a lot of minion counters can take advantage of it so it might even work against him. Elemental link seems good.

All in all I’m not excited for this hero, neither do I think I would take him over a first or second lianna.

Question will be how the 2022 HotM family bonus will change this.

I’m assuming this will be the only HOTM possible during Springvale.

As someone who has only fast and slow green 5*, I think I’d welcome this hero.

What’s wrong with having only fast heroes  ?My Frigg - Fogg - Caedmon are the core of my best team  I also have Elradir and Heimdall, but haven’t been able to make them work together too well.

I’ve classic Lianna and Kadi maxed. My others are classic Alby and C-Yunan.

This hero should be at the same speed as Malosi. Malosi hits for 300% blocks status effects, which is similar to this hero

 They are good as well. For sure better than Elradir from my point of view… Not sure if you have Buddy, but I think that I’d rather use him. For me the main advantage of the new HotM is the defense down, but it’s only to one, even though it’s applied before hitting.

It bothers me more than it should that the name is related to the forest (Silva is latin for forest), but the special skill is power of flora… And yes I know that there are also flowers in the forests, but still…

It was suppoosed to be about female Silvaria i thought

Thx, I have fixed this.
