This thread is to provide early insights and discussion on the July 2023 HOTM, Cinisia

All Information from Beta is Subject to Change!

Don’t get attached

Details from beta, especially brand-new beta content, don’t tend to be very reliable for actual hero release.

It’s incredibly common that heroes are changed during beta testing, or sometimes even after testing but before release. That is, after all, the purpose of beta testing.

So I wouldn’t get too attached to any of this — it’s not unheard of for entire portions of skills to be removed or reworked, or for radical changes to stats to be made.

Cinisia Beta Info & Stats (Extremely Likely to Change)

Gender: Female
Power: 815

Attack: 873
Defense: 718
HP: 1312

Element: :leaves: Nature (Green)

Class: Wizard
Family: Legends 2023
Aether Power: Attack Up

Innate Ability: Increased Attack Per Non-Nature Enemy
At the start of the battle, this character’s attack is increased by 5% for enemy that is not of Nature element. In battles with multiple waves, this effect is refreshed at the beginning of each wave.

Innate Resistance: Resist Attack Ailments
This character has innate resistance against status ailments that affect attack.

Mana Speed: Average

Special Skill: Fury of Ash

  • Deals 235% damage to all enemies.
  • All enemies get -60% decrease of any healing received for 3 turns.
  • All enemies receive 252 Bleed damage over 2 turns. Against Ice characters, this status effect becomes uncleansable and lasts 2 turns longer.
  • Element Link gives +4% mana generation for all Nature allies for 4 turns. This effect cannot be dispelled.

Or: How many summons are needed to get a HOTM?

Special thanks to @Garanwyn for assistance on summoning odds and proofreading for this section.

It’s important to remember that HOTM have very low summoning odds. No amount of summoning will guarantee a HOTM.

On average, in a 10-pull, you have a 12.3% chance of summoning the HOTM.

But that statistic can lead our minds astray in exactly how our odds play out as we continue summoning.

Some useful insights:

  • 73 times out of 100, you’ll get a HOTM by pull 100
  • 95 times out of 100, you’ll get a HOTM by pull 229
  • 99 times out of 100, you’ll get a HOTM by pull 352

Putting that in Perspective

  • 27 out of every 100 people won’t get the HOTM by the 100th pull

  • If 1 Million players each summoned 100 times, 270,000 of those players wouldn’t get the HOTM

  • 5 out of every 100 people won’t get the HOTM by the 229th pull

  • If 1 Million players each summoned 229 times, 50,000 of those players wouldn’t get the HOTM

More Insights & Reading

I highly recommend reading these two threads for more information and context on summoning odds:

If you’ve read them a million times before, you may consider reading them again before deciding on your budget for summoning. A little time spent deciding on how much money you want to risk on summoning goes a long way to avoiding disappointment, frustration, and regret later.

It seems a good hero
Not op but not poorly weak

Not bad. 235% AoE and 252 bleed on top is quite a punch for Average, especially with cut healing. But I wonder about that passive. Does 5% per non-green enemy mean +20% when against rainbow?

Either way definitely the most innovative thing from this batch of beta updates …

Hero Created more for events. Not bad.

This one I like. Not a bad one.

I think, it even means +25% against non-green mono.
More interesting is whether this effect is dispellable (probably yes) and whether it stacks with a special skill attack buffs (probably no).
And, most importantly, how her aether power works with the passive - on the first look it seems they will overwrite each other.

Wondering what will happen on monster island where there are 10-20 monsters at the same time

There are no more than 8 at one time. And on start of a wave there are only 3, and this is the point that counts. So there will be max +15% bonus.

The attack up from the innate ability is permanent (of course, i mean permanent in the single wave, i got it gets refreshed in map/event stages) or diminishes when a non-green enemy gets killed?
Moreover, isn’t it a significant step up from previous innates? They’ve always been situational, tied to some particular ability/ailment. This one is almost a guaranteed buff to the hero.

If it has to be refreshed means it is not permanent, probably it is a dispellable status buff given at the start of battle just like the aether powers - hence the question if it can be overwritten with aether power (or can itself overwrite the aether power - I don’t know the order of activating these effects).
But nothing suggests that it can change by itself because of death of enemy (unless enemy’s passive causes dispel of buffs on death).

Or it is just a bad description of this ability (again). Maybe by “refreshed” they meant that her attack will be recalculated based on the new wave.

Does Cinisia have an alias available?

What do you mean by alias?

Each hero has a second page you can access by clicking on the microscope in the upper left hand corner. At the bottom of that page is a title and the previews posted here, as of late, have included it for heroes like this one:

Season 5 Heroes

There are a total of one (1) new hero added to Beta for testing; these have been indicated to be for Season 5.

*The name of the new hero is: Sneferu

5 :star: – Legendary Hero

Sneferu - Beta Info & Stats (extremely likely to change)

Alias: Sphinx of the Moon

Rarity: Legendary/5*
Gender: Male
Power: 847

Attack: 809
Defense: 791
HP: 1557

Class: Barbarian
Element: :new_moon_with_face: Dark (Purple)

Mana Speed: Slow
Family: Moon
Aether Power: Regen

Passive: Effects on Special Skill

The costume previews always have it in these posts but for regular heroes I have always had to either wait to pull the hero myself (pretty rare for any new 5 star) or ask people for that info so I can update the wiki. Just saves me some steps if that info is included in the preview so I can get the wiki updated with new heroes as they premiere. Thanks for asking.

Ah OK the title. I can check later but I think @PlayForFun should have it too :+1:

Thanks for checking on this!

Her title should be: “Meliai Warmage”

It took me like 10 seconds to figure out that it is War-mage and not Warm-age. I was so confused about this made up synonym for warming until I realized
