At the start of each battle, this Hero gets +20% defense for 6 turns. In battles with multiple waves, the effect is refreshed at the beginning of each wave.

Summons a Bee Minion for each ally. The Bee Minion inherits 15% HP and 17% attack from the caster.
Each hit from the Bee Minion gives the target the following status ailments:

Avoiding Overspending & Heartache
Or: How many summons are needed to get a Valhalla Rare Hero?
It’s important to remember that Season 3 Valhalla Heroes have EXTREMELY low summoning odds. No amount of summoning will guarantee a Season 3 Hero.
On average, in a 10-pull, you have a 41% chance of summoning Kvasir.
But that statistic can lead our minds astray in exactly how our odds play out as we continue summoning.
Some useful insights:
65 times out of 100, you’ll get Kvasir by pull 20
95 times out of 100, you’ll get Kvasir by pull 57
99 times out of 100, you’ll get Kvasir by pull 87
Putting that in Perspective
35 out of every 100 people won’t get Kvasir by the 20th pull
If 1 Million players each summoned 20 times, 350,000 of those players wouldn’t get Kvasir
5 out of every 100 people won’t get Kvasir by the 57th pull
If 1 Million players each summoned 57 times, 50,000 of those players wouldn’t get Kvasir
More Insights & Reading
I highly recommend reading these threads for more information and context on summoning odds:
If you’ve read them a million times before, you may consider reading them again before deciding on your budget for summoning. A little time spent deciding on how much money you want to risk on summoning goes a long way to avoiding disappointment, frustration, and regret later.
This will be extremely useful in Rare Challenge Events against Lady of the Lake, Puss in Boots and the like. It also completely neuters Queen of Hearts since most of her skill is channeled through the card.
I did a 10-pull, and got THREE of this guy. Sadly, I’m unimpressed. I’m trying to imagine a scenario where he would be useful.
As others pointed out, maybe some Rare challenge events, but that seems niche. Him stopping enemy minions from spawning is reliant on the team’s own minions happening to randomly hit the desired enemy. So I don’t think of this as being a reliable ability. Granted, if you have a full team of 5 allies still up when he summons, which is doable since he’s Fast, then the likelihood of at least one of those 5 minions hitting your desired target is OK, but they just do such weak damage, I don’t see this as a feasible hero for me to dedicate anything to leveling up.
It’s so situational, I will probably only be keeping ONE of him. I’ll keep an eye out here to see if there is some huge benefit that I’m missing, but I just don’t see it right now.
I like this B…ee. He’s fun to play with. I haven’t really leveled him yet. But he’s a fun dude. Can’t say much more, just that I gave him a run through some season 1 stages, and he handled himself quite well.
It would be neato to see him as a four star though.
I have a question about Courvoisier. He is fast, and that is helpful. I had all five allies with 3 Bees.
It is not clear from the description what the Bees do, though? 32 poison damage over 2 turns? But do they also sting?
Also if I have 15 Bee minions, does the poison stack? If the poison doesn’t stack, then there is no difference between having 1 & 15 bees. Other than the meat shield, then the bees don’t really offer much in the way of attack.
If they stacked, that would be awesome, but I don’t think they do. Can anyone clarify?
Lol. But many players ARE still using 3s! I love him, he was my fave 3 to test. And many in my training alliance got him. Myself included. And I will enjoy using him every chance I get, even if it’s only once a month! Good luck all!
For those who are lamenting this effect on a three star hero, I speculated in the Beta Beat about the season 3 heroes that SGG may be testing the minion prevention effect in a smaller sandbox before unleashing it into the upper raid arenas.
We know (because SGG has said so) that they have done this in the past with powerful new effects. I believe the offered examples were Wilbur and Merlin - both of whom still don’t really have five star analogues.
The minion block effect in theory would be great to have in many diamond raids. Sadly, despite Kvasir’s good bulk for 3* rarity, he’s still not reliable for high level arena raiding. That means his usefulness will be limited to raid tournaments and gold / low platinum arena mostly, and the list of enemies he can potentially counter are Rudolph and Buddy.
But he’s still a good hero despite that. As I said he’s rather bulky for this rarity, which means his minion summon for all allies is basically a small heal at fast speed. He is, in a way, the first yellow healer in the 3* rarity – and considering the only other healer options in this rarity are average speed Hawkmoon, Belith and the less than stellar Friar Tuck, he’ll certainly still be good to have for raid tournaments to give more flexibility with color-stacking.
Worth noting too that minion summons still work in Bloody Battle – so he is in a way the only 3* hero that can “heal” in that format.
Though I also can’t see a situation where you’d want more than one. You really only need one when attacking in tournaments, and also if you want to place him on tournament defense.
