Or: How many summons are needed to get a Valhalla Rare Hero?

It’s important to remember that Season 3 Valhalla Heroes have EXTREMELY low summoning odds. No amount of summoning will guarantee a Season 3 Hero.

On average, in a 10-pull, you have a 13.7% chance of summoning Jott.

But that statistic can lead our minds astray in exactly how our odds play out as we continue summoning.

Some useful insights:

  • 36 times out of 100, you’ll get Jott by pull 30
  • 59 times out of 100, you’ll get Jott by pull 60
  • 95 times out of 100, you’ll get Jott by pull 203
  • 99 times out of 100, you’ll get Jott by pull 314

Putting that in Perspective

  • 64 out of every 100 people won’t get Jott by the 30th pull

  • If 1 Million players each summoned 30 times, 640,000 of those players wouldn’t get Jott

  • 5 out of every 100 people won’t get Jott by the 203rd pull

  • If 1 Million players each summoned 203 times, 50,000 of those players wouldn’t get Jott

More Insights & Reading

I highly recommend reading these threads for more information and context on summoning odds:

If you’ve read them a million times before, you may consider reading them again before deciding on your budget for summoning. A little time spent deciding on how much money you want to risk on summoning goes a long way to avoiding disappointment, frustration, and regret later.

Slow might of Valhalla. Many slowies with crazy specials.

Valhalla heroes have the ability to slow down the meta by 4%.

Love the design. Would really like to see more heroes like he and Ratatoskr that interact with the board with their abilities

Too slow for me. I see potential use on titan teams if you mana him up.

I have Ratatoskr and used to underestimate him first, but then when I started using him, my titan score further increased by a lot. He also buffs the green stack nicely at war attacks, where the tiles become little nukes dealing like 600-800 dmg each.

So I was very excited to see Jott - and he was really the one 4 star I hoped to get the most from this new batch of heroes. Can’t wait for a first good board on red titan after he’s maxed. Costume Magni - Vela - Frida - Miki - Jott and the damage is going to be insane.

Just pulled Jott, Gullinbursti and Stoncleave…what would you recommend I focus on first? Was going to focus on Stonecleave for the comedy value, but happy to take your thoughts, thanks

can someone jott down a few reasons to keep this guy? I just pulled him and I hate to trash season 3 heroes but what is this??

the only thing I can think of, other than maybe titans, is to put him on a rush tournament defense team with a red tank like sumle.

Hi Corey, it seems to work with Ratotaskr why not with Jott?

Titans… Charges same time as Miki, if you’re not potting him.
If you combine with defence and elemental defence drop then it could be helpful.
Good tile damage for a 4*, too.

Rush tourney flanking BT is more likely, and potentially irritating.

even though he charges at the same time as miki, you can only trigger him if you have a lot of blue tiles otherwise he doesnt actually accomplish much of anything right? he seems like a risk compounder where you either are very well rewarded for a great board or just even more punished for having a weak board.

I do like the idea of him flanking BT. ideally the AI gets lucky when he goes off…

Yes that’s true… At least he’s got decent tile damage so he’s not a total deadweight when things don’t fall your way.

I have Ratty at 3.70 and he’s been effective in boosting scores, so I don’t see why this guy wouldn’t?

As I simply max the ones I got when I have the mats, I will max him to. As I did with Mireweave and what I will do with Stonecleave and Sumle … all the ones others say that they are not the best ones. Jott is in my opinion a fun to play hero, like Danzo and Agwe. So I max him for this purpose… right after Fenrir

Corey on offense as far as I can tell this is essentially a buff similar to Tarlak/Miki in that it only affects tile damage and not specials, but not quite as strong but permanently in place. And it stacks with everything else… so it seems quite powerful to me.

you can focus those three, but if you must choose, i’ll go gulinbursti if you don’t have many healer especially yellow healer beside lady woolerton.

if you have many healer, go with joot first

please explain his special to me.

Have you faced him in Season 3? It becomes pretty clear after you face him or Rat once.

The shields that are on the board when he casts his attack are “special”. If he is playing on offense (on your team), those shields have +64% attack (so your blue attack stat +64%). If he is playing on defense (against your team), those shields have -57% attack (your blue attack stat -57%). So it’s an attack modifier that instead of lasting X amount of turns, lasts for as long as those shields are on the board.

Ok. I get it. Thanks. I didn’t think of using him on a defense team. I just pulled him and I am having a hard time wondering if i should invest in him…or where he would fit in a team. Position? Defensive? Titans? I figured for sure he would be good for titans and rush attack tournaments. But still raises the question. Is he worth investing in? Hmmmm?

Which can really be beneficial in an offensive Blue Stack with favorable tiles against a 20-emblemed Gravemaker or Mitsuko.

Yeah I have my doubts with these heroes in raids though because you need the tiles to charge them so when you actually get to activate it you might not have that many tiles on the board. But this is theoretical because I don’t own any of them
