Wilbur and cyprian specials work at the same time?

I might be wrong but it seems like wilbur and cyprian’ s special won’t work at the same time. Say you fire wilbur’s special and have three turns left and you fire cyprian does that cancel wilbur’s last three turns?

Why do you think this? Wilbur’s special is a defense buff and shared dmg buff. Cyprians special is a counterattack buff.

Cyprian’s buff should have no interaction in terms of overwriting of canceling any of Wilbur’s buffs. If it does, that’s a bug. It could be a display issue, though. You can click on your heroes to see what buffs and debuffs they have.

I just figured it out I thought because it will display that cyprian’ counter attack on Wilbur when you hold down he’s picture to see how many turns is left that it was canceling out his special. Lol

Wait what?

Sorry, am inebriated lol

Wilbur’s Spirit Link and Cyprian’s Riposte are not good boosts to put together anyways.

The counter-attack is damage based, and the whole point of Wilbur’s special is to reduce the damage taken for your whole team by distributing it. That means that riposte will be doing very little damage back with counter-attacks.

Furthermore, riposte only counter-attacks direct damage, meaning that it won’t counter damage shared through spirit link (i.e. if an enemy hits someone who is not Cyprian or beside him, the damage won’t be countered).

Same thing applies with Aegir and Elena or Obakan put together in the same team. You can put them together and stack them, but they don’t play well together.

if you have Wilbur and riposte active and the opposing team attacks someone covered by riposte shouldn’t the whole opposing team take damage from the counter attack?
I was playing around with Boril and Wilbur farming. I noticed in this situation only the attacking opponent receives damage from riposte even though Wilbur and boril both have active specials

Only counter attack will happen with those with riposte on them 3 of them (boril costume can now have all, will that make a difference @DaveCozy ) but shared damage is still spilt so not all will take it with cyprian

Have a read of this How to use Wilbur?

No. Counterattacks are considered indirect damage. They have to be considered as such, so they can bypass defensive buffs. That includes counterattack and damage share.

The game programmers did this on purpose so that counter damage couldn’t be mitigated by the opponents buffing themselves with defense buff. Also so that two counterattacking heroes wouldn’t keep countering each other endlessly.

Think of counter damage like a more inconsistent form of DoT.

With damage share, no. Only the target hit counters – the ones getting shared damage don’t counter.
