Using Wilbur with a Perfect Riposte Hero

I have been wondering if pairing Wilbur and Cyprian together is a good or a bad idea. I like perfect riposte a lot, but am wondering - if I have damage sharing active, won’t that turn Perfect Riposte into a soft hitting special?
