We are about midway through the first Path of Valor. What things have you learned from it so far? What tips have proven helpful for your progress? What will you do the same next time, and what will you do differently? What advice would you offer someone trying to complete it?
Note: THIS IS NOT A THREAD TO GRIPE ABOUT THE REWARDS, COMPLAIN ABOUT THE CHALLENGES, OR DISCUSS WHETHER IT’S WORTH PAYING FOR VALOR PASS! THERE’S A SEPARATE THREAD FOR THAT. DON’T HIJACK THIS ONE!
Here’s a few things I’ve come up with based on mistakes I’ve made or complaints I’ve seen
Don’t rush to complete the various tiers. I used all of my saved summons tokens to finish the summons challenge within the first week, and then realized I could have easily held on to another 90ish tokens and let my 2 free daily summons from VIP count towards the challenge. I’m saving summons tokens again, but for the next PoV, I’ll wait to use them until closer to the end so I don’t waste them.
If there’s any question in your mind about whether you’ll be able to finish, hold off on purchasing the Valor Pass until you see how far you get and then decide if the rewards you’ve earned are worth the price. You can get the same rewards whether you buy on day 1 or day 50. It’s retroactive.
Don’t panic over the titan requirement unless you’re in a very small or very casual alliance. The way it’s structured, you can miss 15 titans in 7 weeks and still complete it.
If you’re seeing daily challenges that you can’t do yet, like crafting super mana potions, consider them something to work towards for next time.
If you’re new to the game, it’s okay not to complete all 50 tiers. Just do what you can, and see where you hit roadblocks so you can get further next time.
It’s definitely a lesson in patience… you can see the rewards (shiny 5* mats) so it’s tempting to push through the levels that you can (raids, Summons, titans…). But truly there’s no need to rush and waste flasks.
I’ve also learned to check the challenges before I start using flags to farm… (I’m a little impatient when I first wake up) Knowing which levels to farm or which items to use to satisfy the daily challenges is obviously helpful.
To me, it has been exactly the same thing that I envisioned it to be in the beginning. I have done nothing different from what I used to do before PoV.
As a F2P player, my main concern was the tournament and summon challenge. But I am already at 62 tournament battles (25+12+25) and at 246/275 summons (I had hoarded 125 silver coins before PoV started), so I am not worried about either of them anymore. In fact, I have taken @yelnats_24’s advice and started hoarding my silver tokens once again for the next PoV, as the daily single summons is enough for me to complete the rest of the summon challenge.
Overall, I am quite happy and content with it. It is definitely challenging, but perfectly doable after reaching a certain level in the game. My advice to everyone would be to stop thinking about it too much and go about business as usual and you will see that 50 days is a very long time.
And also, if someone does not reach the final tier, please don’t worry, you are just missing out on 1x 4 star AM every 60 days (or 2 if you are a paying player). Rare quests give 6x 4 star AM in the same period. So It’s not a big deal. Just enjoy the rewards you are getting and continue to grow stronger.
Yes, we are from 6 to 9 regularly, from which 9 will likely escape. Now we are straight 7 since 4 days to beat em easily without items. We simply managed to kill em late during the last 2 hours.
I don’t have to be in a hurry to complete those missions
I’m always in a hurry and complete the daily challenges as soon as they appear in a furios fear that I will forget to complete the daily ones during the whole day.
we communicate more than ever in our alliance
I’ll use my flasks now although it is no rare titan we’re currently fighting against
I still have to be patient
I want that avatar more than the last bonus tier
… this game appears to me like my second job more and more.
And sometimes you must pay for that job
Don’t push summon to last tier is what I make it bold and underline, so I can have enough pull for next POV.
( This not for W2P of coz , this for my next POV plan)
I learned that if you are tired and can’t keep your eyes open during a war, and you’re holding out for more beatable opponents to regenerate, just go ahead and use your war attacks anyway before falling asleep even if you get your @$$ handed to you for 0 points. Your alarm may not wake you, and you might miss the rest of the war losing out on war attacks for PoV.
Saving all of your accumulated Summon tokens, Costume keys, etc outside of PoV time may come in handy during PoV.
It’s better to finish a beatable titan at the tail-end of the attack time period in order to have a higher chance of another beatable titan being re-spawned rather than finishing off that beatable titan early and then landing your next titan in an upgraded star class that winds up kicking your @$$ all over the battlefield and escapes effortlessly.
Raid early. Raid often. Don’t sit on 6/6 Raid Energy even if the Raid Chest has several hours before being ready.
You can win Stage 15 of Legendary tier of a Challenge Event with 3* and 4* heroes, but be prepared to have an arsenal that can nuke the bosses into outer space. Having enough gems to allow a few continuations is a good back-up plan when desperate to finish.
You don’t have to make it to the end of the week in every Raid Tournament to complete the Raid Tournament challenges, but you will for a few, so it doesn’t hurt to have gems ready in those weeks where an unexpected Monday or Tuesday exit occurs.
If the titan is defeated in the last hour, the chances of landing a higher star class titan (though not impossible) are greatly diminished on the titan re-spawn.
PoV is encouraging pathetic jellyfish like me to have a go at stuff they may not have wanted to engage with up till now. You don’t have to, of course, but more loot is always good. I’ve learned to get stuck in to raid tournaments and even… well, not enjoy them exactly, but they’re interesting content I’d been avoiding for no good reason up till now. (Fully expecting to eat my words in the latest event, on the ceremonial Handing of the A**.)
