Neith – New November 2019 HOTM (Hero of the Month): Thoughts, Discussion & Summon Results with Feedback

Base Stats: MIDDLING
Damage: WEAK
Utility: MIDDLING
Speed: AVERAGE

She’s pretty boring. I’m honestly not sure if I should ascend Musashi (faster speed), Leo (harder hit), or Neith, which says something.

I’m not sold on Neith. I’d love to hear somebody convince me she’s awesome.

lol, the debate was heated prior to release…

In a nutshell, she’s a ranger with pierce, who got her damage nerfed (which is a kick where it hurts for a ranger), without an increase elsewhere such as better mana cut for better utility or better defensive stats to make her viable on defense teams…

Therefore, I doubt you can find anyone who can convince you.

She has a little from everything. A little bit of dmg, secondary effect and debuff, the problem is that giving a hero a little from everything makes it a master of nothing so for each portion of her special can be done better by another hero. I dont find her interesting and good, won’t chase her. Grimble will be even worse.

Like a Swiss army knife, except for the fact they forget to add the knife itself.

wait for Rabbit , its Yellow and far more worthy than Neith

Grimble will be better than Neith, at least he will give little mana for every minion

Neith is not exceptional. His attack is low 150%. its secondary assets are poor 10% less mana, 4 blind turns for everyone. I think she should be quick and keep her stats or stay mana average but increase her attack to 200% and 20% less mana.

I think she is fine as she is now but if she were to have her damage increased she could have gained it as a DoT.

This ten pull was one of my best!

Too bad Neith doesn’t seem to be worth the mats, before him I will ascend Joon, Guine and propably Leo too. Also will try for white rabbit so Neith will see last ascension around 2022 assuming I don’t pull any better yelllows in the meantime

That’s just silly. No 1 avoids a Drake tank.

Well, the knife was there but it wasn’t sharp enough to be a good cutter.

Just because you don’t avoid Drake tanks, doesn’t mean others don’t.

But it’s still silly to do so.

Since I started recording the results of my randomly-rolled raids, I’ve been mildly surprised to find 14 wins in 14 attempts against lineups with Drake Fong tanks. That’s on par with Vivica: I have 100% success rate against them.

Meanwhile, against Delilah tanks I win 14 in 16 (87%); against Onatel tanks 19 in 22 (85%); and against Gwen tanks 38 in 46 (83%).

So, yeah, of those five common yellow tanks, there are just three (frequently) worth avoiding, and Drake Fong is not among them.

Back to topic:

I had a token from the Event… should I try Valeria? Ok, Let’s try, just this one…

I’ve been following the Neith’s thread since the beta beat @zephyr1 so kindly put together, liking pretty much all complaints about the over nerfing they did to her damage and all polemic that thread ensued.

I still think her damage was way too toned down, they could’ve settled for ~185%, one more turn of inaccuracy…

That said, with Neith at 1-32 (slowly working on her as I finish Kingston up), she was a good surprise doing Frostmarch (I did it with a testing rainbow team with my still unleveled heroes)

She’s sure getting darts (I’m terribly dry on Holy), but I get why she’s getting so little love from people with deep rosters or those who run mono. Until they launch a Holy Panther, Neith’s secondary skills (which one is truly secondary? With the nerf, the damage seems more secondary than the other effects) do not stack over other Holy stuff and leave her in a tough spot.

For someone like me, who started playing post-Onatel, she’s very welcome though.

On a design perspective:

Good color choices, she’s toned down on yellow, a refreshing approach from the very bright likes of most Holy HOTMs. The palette is pretty.

The pose is very active, unlike the pin up style I sorta grew tired of. Her proportions are good, I like the feminine and grown up (as opposed to an Elena for example) tighs.

The title/description is good, matches the sickle she’s holding. The animated figure is improving a lot from earlier HOTMs where you can see weird movements and they look like cutoff paper dolls.

And the special skill animation is neat, short, matches a sickle and the sound isn’t absurd.

Some people say they don’t care about the looks, just the cards. Sorry, but the care they take to design a character is a great part of its appeal and I think it should match the special. We don’t spend our money to play with tofu looking cards

I went for red because I need more red heroes. And I accidently pulled Neith :joy::see_no_evil: I pulled Azar with what I’m happy and a Gormek guy. No clue about him. Last month I wanted Kingston badly and got him. Now for Neith, didn’t know anything and wasn’t hoping for her. Thought I don’t have a chance anyway… And bam. I won’t use her until I hear how she is and what she does.

Thank you very much  you helped me somewhat here.

Neith has quite a nice artwork, particularly the shadow is very well done. Compare him with other character artwork it’s almost like it belongs to a different game.

I forgot to mention my favorite aspect of Neith’s artwork and I think it even deserves a post of its own:

Neith’s hands are delightful

It may seem silly, but we see these cards a lot and all the work, from the stats to the pixels should be evaluated here as feedback and future reference.
