Bob’s Brief Bizarro Budget Breakdown!
Since a lot of folks are all “hrm” or even dismissive of the 10-soul choices, I thought I’d add a few thoughts about each of them: why folks on a budget and trying to decide “take a cheap option” or “pass” might lean toward the former… or the latter.
- take: If you want her tile-manipulation mechanic (mostly likely against titans/Mythic Titans, given that many SE choices are old enough to be problematic on defense)
- pass: If you’re not sold on messing with tiles or aren’t looking for a specialist; lower stats than even most other SE choices
- take: You missed her last December (or cashed her in at another SE and are now regretting), and want her fairly chunky minions and slow-but-steady minion-boost-heal-over-time… most especially for PvE events; fairly recent hero
- pass: You already have her as a recent HotM, you face LNY hero passives or minion removal, or “slow-burn overheal and critters” isn’t your thing
- take: you really need some damage on your yellow roster, even if she’s not the sniper she was; you need a sniper/yellow sniper that even can fire in 6 tiles; you want her buffblock (at 2 or 3 charges) or especially mana punishment (from family bonus, from stopping mana-gen bufffs, and while the “250 damage on mana gain” isn’t as big as it was, still can sting for any effect that does mana-over-time every turn)
- pass: you want big damage (SE will never deliver the latest in damage, which never lasts)
- take: you don’t have many fienders, you like that her fiends hit harder than most, you like punishing yellows and/or teams with healers that cleanse first or don’t cleanse at all, you like fiend damage ignoring high defense ratings and ailment block/immunity if it sticks around enough
- pass: you want your fiender to do more than just the fiends and associated effects, you face a lot of 2LB “no fiends lol” heroes (or of course, fiend blocker or remover heroes, or MegaMinion summoners), you want to land Aconia’s Bleed clause but often face ailment block/immunity
- take: actually the highest base stats of this SE (not just of the 10-soul heroes!), so reasonably more survivable in at least some PvE; variable ability, mana gen buff or mana gen nerf, the latter of which stacks with mana nerfing stacks from passive; quick minion meat shields or slower but chonky fiends
- pass: you want something more active than a support hero or with faster effects; worried about specific minion and/or fiend counters; also fiends subject to hp caps (1000hp, or 2000hp if LB2, so depending whom you fight, you well may not get the full 60% fiend! —see Ulius thread)
