Here we go again... domitia or ameona

So I currently have just 2 purples in my line up that are not levelled. Domitia and Ameona, both sat at 1/1. Currently I have purples Tibertus and Rigard maxed and obakan at 2/60

Who would you do next?

I don’t have a purple 5* fully levelled up yet, not sure if Domitia is worth it.

Ameona seems like she has a crazy high attack stat, is it as good as it seems if up against a titan? I know when i face her in raids she seems useless.

Which would you choose? Obviously if I pull a good purple in the future I would switch to them.

Cheers.

Domitia is certainly more versatile, and Ammonia is not good for defence teams.

Both are useful, but I would do Domitia first (actually I am  )

Ameonna is very niche and only usable for attacks on Titans and stacking. On defense she disappears and the opponent is able to ghost tiles at her position. Sakura bonus is too weak, too.

It depends on a few things:

  1. How many tabards do you have? If you have 5 or more, then I’d go with Domitia before Obakan or anyone else.

  2. If it’s less than that then you’re going to be hanging out for a while and you might want to go for Ameona for the Titan attacks.

To me, it’s Domitia. Even at 3-70 she’s a useful as a bench attacker in wars, and wouldn’t be terrible on yellow Titans (at tank or flank to max protect vs. yellow).

I wasn’t creative enough to figure out a use for Ameona, so I never leveled her. Maybe if someone has, they can share?

Domita. Ameonna is only useful in very specific situations

As of yesterday, I have both as well. I just started a thread about how people use Domitia, so you might want to check that out here.

Ameonna is my current leveling project; I have her at about 3^50 right now. I plan to leave her at 3^60 until I get some more practice with her. I just tried her in a stack with Tiburtus and Sabina over the weekend against a yellow Titan, and she was as good as advertised, although you have to time the special right to maximize the purple tile damage. My first three runs, I broke 30K damage, which is on the high end of what I’m usually capable of. (I also had Grimm and Gormek as defense debuffers.)

I also find her helpful in alliance wars. If you can keep her from dying - she is VERY squishy - long enough to fire her special, you can get four free hits without worrying about losing. Nice if you are on your later flags and overmatched by someone’s defense team. I also used her to complete the Trials of Mysticism; if you need another sorcerer, you can do worse.

I find this to be the best advice in the thread so far. If you’re going to be waiting anyway, kick the tires on Ameonna and see if you like her. I think she’s kinda fun.

I got mixed feelings about Aemonna myself. Her talent is a double edged sword, she has saved me before but often I wish it didn’t have the drawbacks.

The positives:

  • While ghosted, she can still be targeted by enemies, and the AI will sometimes do that and completely miss – helpful in raids sometimes, and helpful against normal titan attacks.
  • The attack buff is pretty good while ghosted, making tile damage nice.

But imo, the negatives are bad:

  • she gets rid of anything she had; while the good includes undispellable ailments like Alice’s heal reset atk-, she also gets rid of goodies like Wu Kong’s gambler’s stance or Khiona’s berserker attack buff.
  • she can’t gain mana in this form, making her a sitting duck once those turns are done.
  • if you put her on defense, tiles go right through her if she’s ghosted, leaving a gap on your defense team

Obviously she’d be broken if she could gain mana and activate her talent over and over again :stuck_out_tongue: So I get why that drawback has to be there.

Also I should add, for those saying to use her for titan attacks, sounds nice and all but she gets rid of Wu Kong’s bonus. So keep that in mind  She’s good against titans, but not as good as you’d think.

I would go with Domitia myself. It’s not that Ameona is not useful, I just think that she’s got some drawbacks that outweight her usefulness in most situations.

Ameonna is one of those heroes that I think the devs were so afraid to make too OP so they overdid on weaknesses (Guardian Owl says hi, same story). Now her strengths turn out to not be as strong as they were afraid they’d be, but her weaknesses are really significant and make her terrible. So what that she can survive longer thanks to the ghost form if she does nothing when alive.

I’d go with Domitia even if she’d stay at 3.70 for a while. At least her skill does any damage, and even though her attack is lower, it can be increased by buffs (while Ameonna just removes any buffs so simple Boldtusk in a team with his 48% buff makes any other purple hit only a bit weaker than Amoenna while still keeping their special).

I have Amoenna maxed and she’s always the last purple I consider taking with me anywhere - always losing to Kunchen, Proteus, Merlin or Tiburtus. Tier 4-6 for wars and still using on titans (although as Dave mentioned, the fact she removes Wu Kong’s buff while still missing the tiles is driving me mad), but now working on Sartana so Ameonna doesn’t even get to that team.

Unless you don’t have Wu Kong. Some of us aren’t so lucky… yet.

That’s fair. Just a good think to keep in mind if you have more common heroes too though, like if you have a spirit link user or Brienne then, she will also overwrite those from herself.

Yeah, definitely. I was just messing with you. Underscores that she needs to be paired well when using her in alliance wars, too. Valid points, all.
