This thread is to provide early insights and discussion on the September 2024 HOTM, Chloris

All Information from Beta is Subject to Change!

Don’t get attached

Details from beta, especially brand-new beta content, don’t tend to be very reliable for actual hero release.

It’s incredibly common that heroes are changed during beta testing, or sometimes even after testing but before release. That is, after all, the purpose of beta testing.

So I wouldn’t get too attached to any of this — it’s not unheard of for entire portions of skills to be removed or reworked, or for radical changes to stats to be made.

Or: How many summons are needed to get a HOTM?

Special thanks to @Garanwyn for assistance on summoning odds and proofreading for this section.

It’s important to remember that HOTM have very low summoning odds. No amount of summoning will guarantee a HOTM.

On average, in a 10-pull, you have a 12.3% chance of summoning the HOTM.

But that statistic can lead our minds astray in exactly how our odds play out as we continue summoning.

Some useful insights:

  • 73 times out of 100, you’ll get a HOTM by pull 100
  • 95 times out of 100, you’ll get a HOTM by pull 229
  • 99 times out of 100, you’ll get a HOTM by pull 352

Putting that in Perspective

  • 27 out of every 100 people won’t get the HOTM by the 100th pull

  • If 1 Million players each summoned 100 times, 270,000 of those players wouldn’t get the HOTM

  • 5 out of every 100 people won’t get the HOTM by the 229th pull

  • If 1 Million players each summoned 229 times, 50,000 of those players wouldn’t get the HOTM

More Insights & Reading

I highly recommend reading these two threads for more information and context on summoning odds:

If you’ve read them a million times before, you may consider reading them again before deciding on your budget for summoning. A little time spent deciding on how much money you want to risk on summoning goes a long way to avoiding disappointment, frustration, and regret later.

Chloris reminds me of Timothy and Leadria, but way better. All are average speed healers.
Chloris, power of 1009 at 4/80, boosts health by 600 and then regenerates 100 boosted health per turn for four turns, and gives 50% attack to all as long as she has boosted health.

Timothy, power of 999 at 4/80, boosts health by 560, and gives all allies +20% attack which scales up to 70% for 3 turns. He also comes with a springvale negative.

Leadria, power 899 (according to picture in her thread), “heals” 30% via minion, and boosts health by 100 each turn while having minion, and gives boost to special skill damage. Even at 4/90, health is 2001, which means 30% is 600 “heal”.

I guess that attack bonus may not work if she takes too much damage first, but as pure healing she’s superior. Of course, the comparisons aren’t exactly stellar heroes.

A good healer as hotm? They will for sure nerf it until the final release.

Either they will remove the attack buff or chop down the healing.

Looks pretty good from where I am standing! Finally decent hotm! It was about time

I have Leadria about 10 levels from max, and I was thinking the same thing. If I were lucky enough to pull this one, Leadria would probably be riding the bench.

The minion is actually 30%, so it’s right at 600 HP with Leadria at LB2. Still, Chloris gets that at 4^80.

Given that she’s a sorcerer, and I have a ton of sorcerer emblems, I would not say no to having both Leadria and Chloris available, though.

Current setup makes her good for titans with Attack and Elemental Crit Up combo. And decent healing comparable to Craum. Decent all-rounder not unlike Phenexa.

I like this one. I need a green overhealer. I’ll try for this one as the card reads.

Oops I looked att roster where she’s 1/1. Thank you. I’ll edit.

Sounds like a healer

Someone’s unironically gonna see that +50% attack and go “that’s too much! make it +30%!”

My first thought was Cloris Leachman, the actress best known for playing Frau BlĂŒcher.

So funny,
I also thought of Cloris Leachman, the actress best known for playing Phyllis on the brilliantly funny show ‘The Mary Moore Show’

It seems a decent HOTM in my opinion. Hathor heals 480 and Ariel 500

I can find a use for this HOTM

Like this one a lot. Finger crossed for no pre-launch nerf crap

Would this be a replacer for my Arco? I don’t know. Maybe yes, maybe no.

Ekanite + Arco seem like a better combo than Ekanite + Chloris for me.

If she remains with the following skills and passives, I am willing to postpone my August summons for September, since I am at 100 / 100 at Fated Summon anyway, and I put a hold on summons until it resets the hero list (12 days from now).

Nice, decent HOTM so far! GG!

P.S. Both Ekanite and Arco are coming from Soul Exchange

Wait, are Chlorine and Zidane swapped? I’m pretty sure that few hours ago this thread was labeled as “October hotm”.

Does this have somethig to do with France being a poor football team in the latest EU football cup?

Yep, as posted on another Beta Beat thread earlier today.

Huh. Yeah the HotM order swap is weird, but given that Chloris looks like pretty much a big step up from my old uncostumed Heimdall
.

of course, how many HotM are not nerfed upon release compared to Beta any more? sigh

I mean, if we are in a world where Astral Elves regularly get buffed after release. can we at least have some HotM that don’t get nerfed? It’s not like boost-healing isn’t significantly countered in PvP formats by every goblin ever, much less S4 costumes, plus max-health-reduction heroes generally.

Minor semantics — particularly if this ability even survives into general release — but as this is an attack buff, wouldn’t the term generally be “dispelled” rather than “cleansed”?

Well this is easy to figure out.

By my count that’s
Buffed: 3
Nerfed: 2
Untouched: 2
Mixed: 1

So the two to get nerfed are the two most recent. You can call that a trend. Or a slightly longer trend says that we’re more likely to see an improvement to HOTM upon release than a nerf.
