🧪 Early Information on New Monster Island Event [Part of The Beta Beat v51]

NOTE: Please do not, under any circumstances, share IMAGES OR VIDEOS from Beta in this or any public Forum thread. Violations can cause players to lose their Beta accounts, or threads to be closed down.

This thread is to provide early insights and discussion on the new Monster Island event.

Don’t get too attached

Details from Beta, especially brand-new Beta content, don’t tend to be very reliable for actual release.

It’s incredibly common that features are changed during Beta testing, or sometimes even after testing but before release. That is, after all, the purpose of Beta testing.

So I wouldn’t get too attached to any of this — it’s not unheard of for entire portions of features to be removed or reworked, or for radical changes to functionality to be made.

Rewards for each collected Treasure Chest

You will get these for each collected Treasure Chest:

  • 5 Three Kingdom Coins
  • 5 Tower Coins
  • 5 Legends Coins
  • 2 emblems from random class
  • 1 random 3 star ascension material
  • 1-2 random 1-4 star crafing items and battle items

Schedule

  • Signup phase: 1 day
  • Exploration phase: 2 days + 5 hours
  • Rewards: 1 day

Tips

  • HP booster can revert permanent damage, but they can still prevent applying them at the first place.
  • Reviver heores and items can revive heroes died in previous battles, but they reduce the remain max HP with 50%.
  • If you can not score 39120 damage on an Apex Monster, then defeating a Monster Horde gives more points on Hard difficulty so maybe those players who can not score that much should focus on Hordes as they are easy to defeat.
  • Energy costs increasing for each attack / player so it is adviced to not do more than 1-2 flags / Apex Monster or Monster Horde and let others to finish the job.
  • Try to find Treasure chests as they increase the final rewards.

Monster Island in Puzzle Combat:

@BlackZed shared a video about how it looks like in Puzzle Combat, and this is similar to how it is in Beta.

It sounds nice, I will wait for more details.
Please, could you add beta-beat tag?

I like the idea of permanent damage. We will have to be sure that our heroes are healed at the end of each fight and don’t let our heroes die.

Sorry, I have accidently added the Beta-bugs instead earlier

If this is an event only, and no summon portal, I will be very very pleased with this. The event looks awesome, but if it is accompanied by a portal, than I know SG will focus on portal first, and event will be an afterthought. We are all so sick of new heroes.

I don’t understand. It is like map stage or attacking titan or map stage with titan in the last wave.

@u2371 we will see.

At the moment we just see a fancy new icon on the left at the Quest tab, about Monster Island event approaching (like what we see before Tower of Mystic titan events).

So I will be able to add more information about it only tomorrow.

Finally, a new concept for EP. Played something like this before. Fun quotient high with active game mates.

Guessing the summon portal will be 400 gems.

We have received 0 new heroes to testing, but of course Staff can add a portal any time later

The Monster Hunters heroes (partly) released today in the Covenant Portal will be tied to this event.

That’s why you’re not seeing new heroes in beta, they’ve already been released into the wild! But there will no doubt be a portal with the Monster Heroes when the Monster Island event takes place.

we have too many heroes being released way too fast. I would like more events, but not heroes. Not every event needs to have a set of heroes to go with it.

Having a portal is the main reason for the event these days. Not the other way around.

Yes, the event brings 0 revenue, while the portal brings all of it.

Staff stated this is very early state for the event.
So it might comes only on V52 or later.

So there can be new heroes later. (I am personally expecting them for almost sure)

War of the Three Kingdoms has no new heroes in the first Beta either.

Can’t wait for it, it sound like a treasure hunt, a fun adventure for the whole team, let’s hope we don’t get dissapointed, for now i am excited!

I’m not playing with an alliance anymore, as it has become too demanding. I will have to skip this.

This isn’t exactly accurate. The events might not bring in money themselves, but fun events will help keep players. New portal after new portal may bring in money from the whales, but the rate they have been releasing new heroes, along with the power creep, while neglecting other QOL aspects, have pushed so many players to quit, Not saying we shouldn’t have new heroes ever, but we have seen the results of SG’s greed, and it is not sustainable. The recent buffs, and the Soul exchange were a couple recent additions that didn’t bring in money, but that the players really liked. Happy players keep playing. Players who keep playing, will likely spend at least some money, and some will spend a lot. I spent some money recently because I was happy with some of their non money making changes. If you focus on just making money and not the quality of the product (in this case the game), it will ultimately fail.

Agree. I play other games by developers that are not money obsessed.

Being ultimately under publicly listed TT umbrella, there are revenue and profit calls to meet.

The release of the 1st quarter consolidated numbers aren’t exciting. Drew some “unkind” comments.

My guess is the search for revenue, and more of it, is of primary importance now. Even more than before.

If they had made players happier much earlier, it may not be that desperate now.

Yes, this is true, but it is hard to analyze that X players stayed in the game because of an event, while they can watch real time how many income is generated through offers.

Agreed. And them increasing the cost of summon portals, definitely will not help them. A few players will still spend a lot like they would have anyways (maybe SG makes more from them due to the increase) but many others will just not spend on the portal at all, on principle as well as due to the cost. I still barely get 4* mats, and because of that I don’t summon as much. If they weren’t so greedy, they would actually be making more money in the long run. I said all this like 3 years ago, and it has slowly been playing out just like I said.

I mean I agree with that, but we all see the number of players going down, and the public opinion as well as the rating of the game going down. We might not know the exact number of players that leave for a specific reason, but we know that the greed in general and focus on summon portals and barely any in the other aspects of the game, have caused many players to leave. They focused on making money immediately, and didn’t care about the future. They need to change the players opinion of the game and of them as a company. And more summon portals wont do it.

I am curious about the exploration concept - is it like an open world/world map thing? or maybe there are fixed nodes that one can travel to

I also like that the event difficulty will be scaled based on Alliance Titan score, should help - won’t be fun if weaker/smaller alliances need to take on too-challenging enemies!
