🧪 Early Information on New Goblin Heroes [Part of The Beta Beat v60]

This thread is to provide early insights and discussion on the initial release of the new Goblin Heroes.


Don’t get too attached

Details from Beta, especially brand-new Beta content, don’t tend to be very reliable for actual release.

It’s incredibly common that features are changed during Beta testing, or sometimes even after testing but before release. That is, after all, the purpose of Beta testing.

So I wouldn’t get too attached to any of this — it’s not unheard of for entire portions of features to be removed or reworked, or for radical changes to functionality to be made.


:tophat: Goblin Heroes

There are a total of three (8) new heroes added to Beta for testing; these have been indicated to be for a new Goblin Event.

*The names of the new heroes are:
Legendary: Boom & Fang, Darkfeather, Deadboot, Kettle, Madhammerm, Smarttongue
Epic: Goldie
Rare: Boots

:hugs: Family Bonus

Goblin family:

Heroes become stronger when teamed with other unique Heroes of the same family.

Bonus for 1 / 2 / 3 Heroes:

  • Each time this Hero takes damage from the enemy’s Special Skill, removes 30% / 60% / 100% boosted health from all enemies.

Mega Minion

This is a new Mechanic.

  • A Hero can only have one Mega Minion at a time
  • All existing Minions and Fiends are replaced when a Mega Minion is summoned
  • Mega Minions cannot be replaced by Minion or Fiend summons
  • Mega Minions are not affected by effects that destroy or otherwise affect Minions

Wither and Growth

These are new Mechanics.

  • Wither: Lowers defense and/or attack for the duration of the battle
  • Growth: Increases defense and/or attack for the duration of the battle

These modifications have these properties (shown if you click on ? in the skill):

  • Modified Ability Scores remain even if the character is defeated.
  • Modfied Ability Scores can’t be removed with dispels or cleanses.
  • Additional Wither and Growth effects modify the Ability Scores further.
  • Ability Scores can be increased to a maximum of 170% of their original value.
  • Ability Scores can’t be reduced to lower than 30% of their original value.
  • Other buffs and debuffs are applied on modified Ability Scores.

  • The caster reduces all received damage by - 50% for 4 turns.
  • Summons a White Boar Mega Minion with 60% 36% HP and 120% 160% attack inherited from the caster. [?]
  • When summoned the White Boar Mega Minion gives its owner the ability to counterattack wth 100% 80% of the received damage as long as the owner has a White Boar Mega Minion. This effect can’t be dispelled.

  • Deals 375% damage to the target.
  • Deals additional 50% damage per transferred status effect buff, up to 625% damage in total.
  • Wither: The target gets -160 defense. [?]

  • Deals 350% damage to all enemies.
  • All enemies receive 965 Poison damage over 5 turns.

Catastrophic Kitchen Failure

  • Deals 100% damage to all allies and all enemies.

  • The target hit by White Black Boar Mega Minion can’t get their other status ailments cleansed from Special Skills for 3 turns.

  • Reduces max health for all enemies by 650 570. This effect is stonger against targets with boosted health. [?] (Max health can’t be lower than the 30% of the original max health. Any boosted health is reduced by an additional 650 570.)
  • All enemies get -55% -45% defense against Special Skills for 4 turns.

  • Deals 200% damage to the target and nearby enemies.
  • Wither: The target and nearby enemies get -40 attack and -40 defense. [?]
  • The target and nearby enemies get -35% defense for 3 turns. If this effect is removed before the duration ends, the target with the effect suffers 116 damage.

if you want to get out of the laohou/chinese new year trap just give new minions effect of not being affected by those “silence” minion effect

hopefully next gen chinese heroes will get effect of bypassing effect of not being affected

This is seems rather overwhelming. More new mechanics. Mega minions. More power creep. But it always does.

Fiends felt game-changing. Tellygate felt game-changing.

These heros will cause outrage.

The top spenders will feel it the most.

SG will compensate somewhere.

We’ll continue.

The game will implode at some point.

The next Chinese heroes will also affect Mega Minions. And then a new family with Giga Minions will be released. And then the next batch of Chinese heroes will also affect Giga minions. And then …

Err, all of those seem stupidly overpowered. Which means SG will release them as is (or even stronger).

What portal will these hero’s be in so I know what coins to stack up on

I’ve based my guess on Power: 486

But I agree that it could be 458.

Just read Boom and Fang and we can see just how ridiculous the heroes of have gotten. First of all, a bulky mega minion, that takes 50% less damage for 4 turns, and 100% counterattack. With mega minions can only be defeated by being attacked, and immunity to heroes like Gefjon. In rush, this skill would a pain to deal with.

For Darkfeather, is it possible for 16 attacks in a single turn?

Oh great. Now not only do we have a Goblin Balloon interfering with duck hunting but now will have these Goblin Heroes interfering with hero hunting (raids).

So, when the Black Boar Mega Minion attacks my Devana or Vela (both immune to status effects from minions), they still lose the ability to have other status effects cleansed, because the Black Boar Mega Minion can bypass their passive?

What about skills that “remove” effects, even undispellable ones? I’m assuming remove isn’t effective either, since SGG only knows how to release more and more god-tier heroes, but I thought I’d ask. We all knew this day was coming as soon as SGG came up with this crap about “removing” uncleansable ailments like Onatel’s mana steal.

I don’t quite understand the mega minion mechanic. Can someone in beta please check the counters that are presently available for this mechanic? For eg, can the mega minions be stolen by Gefjon or prevented by Bera? Thank you
