More Insights & Reading
I highly recommend reading these three threads for more information and context on summoning odds:
If you’ve read them a million times before, you may consider reading them again before deciding on your budget for summoning. A little time spent deciding on how much money you want to risk on summoning goes a long way to avoiding disappointment, frustration, and regret later.
Wondering About Your Personal Situation?
Feel free to discuss your team and roster here, and ask for advice from other Forum members.
If you’d like more extensive advice on sorting out your particular roster, I recommend creating a new thread in Gameplay Help & Tactics, and posting screenshots of your hero roster, along with your questions.
Have her first costume LBed so if I manage to grab her, I wouldn’t mind. Just that Toon skill is so uninspiring. Like the C-Bonus though, from which HP-heavy Viv can greatly benefit.
If you naturally have 0 buff dispel resistance, you have a 50% chance to resist a buff being dispelled.
If you have a 20% chance to resist buff dispels from some other source (I can’t recall any hero right now that would do that, let’s just assume such a thing exists), the actual chance you have to be dispelled is:
Roll 1: 0.8% chance to be dispelled
Roll 2: 0.5% chance to be dispelled
Odds of being dispelled on that spell roll: 0.8*0.5=0.4, or 40%.
For Vivica, as a Superior Cleric, this would imply that if she got hit by Proteus, the odds of being mana-blocked are:
Superior Manashield (first roll): 40%
Toon Passive (second roll): 50%
Meaning the odds of Proteus’ Mana Impairment hitting Toon Vivica are 0.4*0.5, or 20%.
This isn’t c3Vivica-specific per se, but I’m wondering how mere mortals are supposed to attack Toon abominations, especially given how “% chance” seems to work on defenders (cf. Mother North res, any dodge, Hunters’ “10%” chance to drop Special direct damage to 1, etc.)
Even if the % chance works exactly as advertised for defenders, the way fights go these days I’m lucky to land one status ailment or mana cut or dispel or chain of tile damage when I really need to, much less two.
Presumably, throwing “just” enough raw damage would do the trick, but it’s not like I have accrued a teamful of top-shelf snipers from the last year that I’m neglecting because I sneer at the whole concept of “mere” sniperdom. (Plus, any such damage-throwing had better ideally bypass defense buffs to c3Viv’s already-hefty defense stat…)
I’m already starting to suspect that when the first LB2 c3Viv appears on a raid defense, oh, about five femtoseconds after the Costume Portal opens, that I could create a raid attack team of what passes for my five “hardest”-hitting snipers, try to charge all five of them up, and in the theoretical case that any, much less all, of them were alive at that point fire all five in a coordinated alpha strike and still quite possibly fail to kill c3Viv.
(And, of course, if it actually worked, having put everything into juggling together a single budget-Death-Star shot, I’d be likely be promptly obliterated by c3Viv’s teammates, assuming that one of them didn’t just resurrect her with 125% hp and full mana as the result of a “passive” or “family bonus” or something.)
I just drew Vivica & all of her costumes from The Vault. I already had a 1LB Vivica and another fully leveled, so I sacrificed the new Vivica to level up one of the costumes in the 1LB one.
But I’m struggling to understand the Toon costume. It seems like it’s very similar to the original, but for the funny art. What am I missing?
it is a little bit different from the original but with the addition of the toon passive (exclusive to the toon) and overall higher costume bonus for all versions
istn strange that her class is same as original hero,
doesn’t look like improving, defense up way lower for 4% bump healing only
only advantage seems is toon passive
is this first time that costume is same class as original hero?
Emm… no, that’s not how probabilities work in this case
If we take your example for chances to block Proteus (I’m using the real values):
Superior Manashield (first roll): 60%
Toon Passive (second roll): 25%
Then the real chances are:
Chance of both blocking: 60% x 25% = 15%
Chance of only superior manashield blocking: 60% x (1-25%) = 45%
Chance of only toon passive blocking: (1-60%) x 25% = 10%
Chance of none of them blocking: (1-60%) x (1-25%) = 30%
In this case, because you only need one of them to block, your chances of blocking are in reality: 15% + 45% + 10% = 70%
