🧪 Early Information on Round 1 of Toon (Tertiary) Season 1 Hero Costumes [Part of The Beta Beat v61]

NOTE: Please do not, under any circumstances, share IMAGES OR VIDEOS from Beta in this or any public Forum thread. Violations can cause players to lose their Beta accounts, or threads to be closed down.

This thread is to provide early insights and discussion on the new Round 1 of Toon (tertiary) costumes for Season 1 heroes.

Don’t get too attached

Details from Beta, especially brand-new Beta content, don’t tend to be very reliable for actual release.

It’s incredibly common that features are changed during Beta testing, or sometimes even after testing but before release. That is, after all, the purpose of Beta testing.

So I wouldn’t get too attached to any of this — it’s not unheard of for entire portions of features to be removed or reworked, or for radical changes to functionality to be made.

“January 2023. New version released”.

I posted that almost three years ago.
Careful what you joke about, it might come true.

I think you meant 2 October 2023 here, not 2 November 2023

It’s unlikely Richard grew up to be such a stud as well.

wtf lol

it’s like they just went complete circle back to original forms

holy :poop: this game gets more ridiculous everyday

i’d have to drink a lot of paint to even come up with some of these ideas

At least they created all second 4* costumes before this but still

This is ridiculous, I can’t wait for fifth costumes in 2025 :joy:

i’m 100% fine with more costumes…

but returning them to their original unwanted forms that have been complained about even being in special portals for at least 5 years now and they expect us to actually want to get them? clown world lol

i have or had and eaten every one of these heroes at least once. why? cause they’re not as good as current heroes. this crap definitely won’t bring them on par. “well just add a tweak, a new bonus, and players should really want them”…no…ridiculous…back to the drawing board, and hopefully someone didn’t eat the crayons this time

The toon passive is 100% getting nerfed. Even if those effects are lowered to 25% or something like that, dealing with these guys will be absolutely annoying. Yeah, make everyone a defacto monk and cleric at the same time, on top of the superelemental passive that already got retracted for being op (50% troop damage reductions) and cleanse resist because why not.

It took 3 iterations of costumes for us to finally get a second 5* classic healer (though the paladin talent kinda blurred that line). It’s also interesting that all of them return to their original class.

They tried to rush out the last sets of secondary costumes for 4*, no words on whether 3* will get secondary costumes, and now, we get Super Deformed Vanillas.

We have to accept that 3* secondary costumes aren’t comming. Or well, maybe they’ll come in a year or so when the fourth S1 5* costumes and third 4* costumes start rolling.

Also, prediction for fun: before the end of the year, costumes for challenge festival 2 heroes will start arriving to beta, likely circus and slayers.

correction, before this time next year

Fixed

I have also fixed this, too.

…they didn’t even finish giving the rest of the S1 heroes secondary costumes and they already leaping to tertiary costumes.

Anyways, extra damage from every one of these heroes is the only good thing from these. But what a world we’re in that we’re now just having their base form skills be what the costume does. If these are supposed to be “cartoons,” the skills could be much more out there. Or even give them to do something entirely different.

  • Toon Leor heals all allies and reduces all enemies’ max HP.
  • Toon Shieldmaster increases all allies’ defense and increases more per hit. All enemies are blinded/receive reduce accuracy.
  • Toon Hammer Power increases all allies’ attack and increases more per hit. Damage has bypass chance.
  • Toon Executioner makes the target where if they die within a number of turns, all allies gain 10% to 20% mana. She also heals all allies 30% of the damage dealt.
  • Toon Scholar cleanses and dispels buffs and debuffs from all allies and enemies, dealing damage based on that as well as recover health or boosts health.

Even here, y’all don’t got any form of an imagination. The artwork might as well be their base form but put a sparkle in the background.

i’m torn between making a Russian-nest-doll joke/my not-quite-cynical-enough take on S1 costumes a while back

and just identifying with 8-bit theater’s Black Mage a little bit more

(no, not hatred of anyone here, just of the idea)

Seriously, hands up anyone who actually wants

  • another round of costumes to level up the same heroes yet again, and

  • “toon” form

really?

I guess this is why they call it Costume Chamber. Soon, each vanilla hero will need their own closet to hold all the dozens of costumes they have

unfortunately, the rapid pace the game tries to make money is faster than the f2p can keep up and so, in the long term, the game will become p2w.

20% atk/def and 45% HP increase? Why stop there - just give them each a mega minion and call them the level bosses
