How are you liking Valeria nowadays?

I pulled one from Black Friday and debating leveling.

Statswise she’s inferior to costume Sonya (I chose Sonya another Epic blue who I use, but not too often). She’s not even in my top five Epic blues to get limit broken (one down, many more to go).

I can see myself using Valeria for heal stealing, but how often do you use that? Costume Sonya I can choose dispel or cleanse as needed.

I have 2 Valerias leveled, 1 fully emblemed. I mostly use her on tournaments as defense wing or on offense in general.

What kind of situation do you run her in tournaments? What defense team are you facing? What offense team are you using? Mono?

I usually run 4-1 setup in tournaments, the 1 being a healer. She is good in buff tournaments on offense because most people use multiple healers as defense, she can counter that. On defense she is usually my wing because she is very fast so fires more often than a slower wing. If the enemy tank is red i use her in most of my blue stacks in the tournaments except for vf of course.

I use b.Magni 5*+1 or Thoth 5* 3.70 for raids now instead of Valeria 4*+1

With the change in Academy, I am wondering if a Limit Break Captain of Diamonds ( added to Academy soonish ) is worth it or

I should just wait for Falcon ( added to Academy soonish, still need ) + Wilbur + c.Boldtusk + c.Gormek ( still need ) / b+.Gormek ( switch between SIX! turn Defense debuff OR anti minion/ watcher as needed, good costume, two debuffer help with Gambler’s stance ) + b+.Wu Kong Lv75 4*+18

Field Aid vs Undead Hoard

If I Recall Correctly, the biggest insult to all Vampires, but especially buffed Valeria, was removing War Rule Field Aid and replacing it with War Rule Undead Hoard

Most players did not level anti healing heroes ( can you imagine the player rage against regular/ rare Titans that healed?), so many players hated Field Aid

SGG wanted to start a minion Meta even though players originally opposed a Minion Meta. Interestingly SGG gave Mythic Titans a version of minions, which is a version of Titans that heal. But this has less impact since Mythical Titans already have infinite HP

Thoth’s minions are fun against reviving heroes especially if you can get a full set of 3x 3 minions going

Is Valeria still useful now that there is no more field aid??? She doesn’t get an bonus for buff booster, life steal is useless in bloody battle.

She may have some utility in VF tourney but there are other heroes who will get a better boost with the fast mana.

Anyone use her on a frequent basis? If so what for?

I just got her, so only have tried her out a few times so far. Basically, I pair her with cFrank and cVanda simply for the mana bonus. It all depends on what the defense is like, i.e. healers/minion generators. It’s not a combination I use a lot, just specific defenses, particularly stacking with Kiril against a red tank.

Passive: Steal Buff
When this character casts their Special Skill, they have a 100% chance to steal the newest dispellable buff from a random enemy that has buffs. If no enemy has buffs, deals 70% damage to all enemies.

Epic tournaments have a lot of passive tanks with a buff (counterattack, HOT). C.Sonya is my only fast blue epic hero so this will also improve my speed. Let’s see how valuable she ends up being.

I was also excited to snag her last year, as my epic blues needed something extra. I kept two copies, in fact. I leveled one, but I lack monk emblems, so I’ve never used her either. Let us know if she proves useful, @Ruskin505 . I’d love to have a niche for her.

Yeah I’d also like to know if she’s more usable with her new passive, as I fed all of mine away previously. Now she pretty much gets a guaranteed buff steal or 70% damage to all upon each fire

I looked back at the 5 most recent Epic raid tournaments (excluding the no ice) to see how Valeria could help.

Rush all elements: 5 Gullinbursti tanks. You can limit his health boost to self and possibly steal his attack/damage buff. This is better than dispel. I also see 5 with a counterattacking hero. I think taking the counterattack away is probably better than having it on Valeria in the first place.

Buff Booster no nature: 6 of the top 10 have counterattack. You may not always take out the tank, but it does help. I also see 7 healers who provide buff (HOT or Kiril buffs).

Bloody all elements: 8 of the top 10 had Ferant. That can get difficult if he casts undispellable.

Buff booster all elements: 9 of the top 10 tanks give a buff. The average team had >2 buffers. Now this could cause a problem as you may not steal the good buff or the buff from the right hero.

Buff booster no fire: can Valeria steal from Brynhild?

If the enemy doesn’t have buffs, you get the extra damage.

If we had mana troops, getting her down to 6 tiles would be pretty helpful. As is, we have her at 7 tiles, but other fast heroes at 8.

I worry her stats are lower and that could hurt her. But her versatility has sky rocketed:
Uses:

• Small damage
• Buff steal
• Heal limiting

can Valeria steal from Brynhild?

I’m thinking no. Valeria’s passive explicitly states that the buff must be dispellable. Brynhild’s second action (after healing) is making all buffs undispellable.

i think the opposite, she can steal it

steal is different from dispelling in the game

the hatter can steal all brynhild buffs (i tested it several times against zircon)

also diao chan minions do the same (i think)

Thank you for clarifying! I was thinking the same thing (steal is different from dispel). Brynhild only prevents buffs from being dispelled, but doesn’t make buffs undispellable. This works as I think it would. I expect bug reports in the future about this passive.

The buffs are still dispellable, it’s just another buff that protects them from being dispelled the normal way, but that doesn’t alter the buffs he steals to undispellable.

At least that’s my take, so I think it’s working correct against brynhild.

I’m pretty sure Brynhild’s skill doesn’t block against steal. I used her against the bosses in the Aether Quests and they stole the buffs from her and her flanks even after she fired
