Trying to compete in wonderland

So I have no problem finishing the events, but I would like to make tier 3 just once. I usually end up around the bottom of tier 4 except in legendary where my 5 star depth just isn’t there yet. My problem is I can’t figure out what a good score on each level is to see where I am most likely to improve. Just finished rare and here is what I got.

I realize that I will need another 60,000 points minimum by the end of the event. Just looking for some pointers on which levels to focus my efforts.

Thanks

The simpliest thing you can focus on is to have more points with each level. If you managed to do 53,505 on level 9 you can do more than that in level 10, 11 etc. And of course you can do more everywhere where you didn’t “kill” the bonus suspicious chest.
Since I am kind of expert on level 3 (playing it over and over) I can tell you that I have done 38,064 there on AUTOPLAY!

I’m no expert on placing in events, but one rule of thumb I use is to try and beat my score from the previous level as I progress. I make sure I score higher on level 2 than I did on level 1, score higher on level 3 than I did on level 2, etc. (EDIT: dang it, @Pois1 beat me to it!)

Your best bet is to go mono and be prepared to replay levels over and over, because a big part of scoring high is getting a good board.

I’m only trying to rank above 100,000 in rare, and I can tell you the first three levels I scored 33-34k without any battle items, a 3-2 team, and only two of those heroes have 2 nodes worth of emblems. The other three have no emblems at all.

If you had mono team that’s well emblemed, and use items like mana pot or banner, you can score much much bigger.

hm… i just tried with my 3-2 team (no emblems) and manage barely ~30k… with no items… i need ~50 sec… how do you achieve more? does it depend on the heroes used? or just “lucky board”?

Its probably luck of the board. I just happen to play those first three levels a lot because those are 1 flag cost farming levels so I’ve gotten my “lucky board” on them after many runs. I recently had one of those chests spawn on one of those levels and scored even higher.

In general I’d say yes: focus on the levels that are lower than the ones before, but level 9 is an exception, it has 3 bosses and those are worth more points than the 2 bosses in level 10 or 11. So it’s really hard to get more points on 10 or 11 and could be frustrating and a waste of time.

I’d share your scores with alliance mates as in comparing the stage scores, you can quickly identify which stage to redo to improve your own score. We’ve also turned it into a competition in past events.

This is only for the last stages recommended, after 8th anyway. In the first ones, you kill the field quickly anyway and the more colours you have, the faster you finish the mission. No matter if is rare, epic or legendary, I finish these first stages within 40-50 seconds. I go with 4 colours. The last stages I go 3-2, never mono. I bring two opposite colours for two bosses at least.

I’ve seen videos of people reaching top 100 or even better tiers.

The strategy is quite simple, for most of the initial levels:

  • Select a mono team.
  • Start the level.
  • If the initial board doesn’t have a match for a gem of the mono color, restart.
  • Restart as many times as needed, even spending flasks, until you get a gem of the mono color.
  • Match the gem and then use it to take down the first wave.
  • Use items to take down the second wave.
  • Fill your heroes with mana pots if they are not charged. Use all your specials in your third wave and finish it with whatever it takes.

Needless to say, this is a very expensive strategy.

Yeah, Uclapack used to restart hundreds times a single mission (I posted last month her video since she said will not do anymore, because not worth it). Last event she come back. For the first 2 tiers this is the only way, indeed. But for the 3rd tier (the best tier achievable, with 4* AM at rare and epic) is like I described above. Because I finish at tier 3 every single event at all categories, sometimes without reruns. For example, I made at legendary one single run and I’m still in top 100. Needless to say I will finish in the first 1k, my goal. I cannot afford to spend gems (therefore real money) on dozens or hundreds of refills. I take the safest route for my goals at event. Epic and legendary 2-2-1, where 1 is Proteus. Any stage among last ones, at most 2 minutes, since the bosses will never fire.

I guess she changed her mind. She is currently sitting at number 1 in legendary

With a mono team strangely… Not 3-2… :thinking::thinking::thinking::thinking:

That is true. If someone wants to reach top 10 spots, mono is the only way to do it. 3-2 can get you high enough but not in top 10 because it simply lacks the tile damage to clear the stages fast enough. Usually 4-1 can also work with WuKong/Ranvir.

OP is trying for tier 3 which I do easily every month, not top 10. Mono will only get him bankrupt, before to have the chance to finish half of it :joy:

Bankrupt is a little exagerative…

I agree, for tier 3, 3-2 will definitely work.

Are you suggestiffng with this statement, that mono event team players must repeat many many times in order to even finish… Cause you know that’s just misinformation and completely false…

@Scarecrow and @Guvnor Now now, please let us not deviate from the topic and let us try to keep the discussion civil and amicable. Personal attacks or insults never lead us anywhere in this world.
