Its my first time trying to place high on events and I want help. I know the information is out there, but I havent seen any recent threads to include updated events, and theres so much info out there it makes my head spin. If you’re wondering “what kind of regular is this guy” feel free to call me a fraud… after providing me with some great tips or most useful links
Anyways I’m looking for screenshots of 3rd tier level scores for reference, general tips on battle item usage, shifts in strategy from early stages to later stages, flask usage, suggestions on what tiers to focus on, and suggestions on my lineups. I have a ton of arrows, axes, and other items with the green light to be flung.
I think mono blue is the move but in anticipation for this event I incorrectly prepared to use mono yellow so I’ll post both options.
I’ve only finished my first runs through Rare and Epic, and haven’t done Legendary yet. I always do a run through each before rerunning any Stages.
I’m currently at 1459 in Rare and 335 in Epic, so I’ll improve my scores later.
I take damage items and mana, mostly, and healing when I have no better use for a slot (Rare, since Arrows, Axes, and Mana leave a slot open).
In earlier Stages it can be effective to use Battle Items on Wave 2, and Special Skills on Wave 3.
In later Stages that won’t be enough to kill the Bosses, so I try to set up some extra matches, or save my Battle Items for the Bosses.
None. I’ve gotten 3rd tier rewards in each of Rare/Epic, and 4th tier rewards for Legendary for each of the updated Challenge Events without using any Flasks or gem refills.
Epic tends to seem the most competitive to me, but YMMV.
I think Grimforest is different than the others because lacking Wilbur and Falcon (or equivalents) changes everything.
That’s what I’ve been using so far.
I maxed a third Grimm a couple weeks ago in preparation for Grimforest Epic. I think he’s worth having over Sonya for higher damage output.
I figured not many people would have their scores were they want them just yet but I still wanted to make my post on day 1.
What’s funny is that epic is usually where I have placed the best in without trying in the past (likely due to my heavily emblemed red team) but competition is likely harder near the top. I always find legendary to be the hardest for me, usually settling for tier 5 in the new versions.
I edited my post, I didn’t use Flasks or gems, but I’ve been going for 3rd tier rewards in Rare and Epic, and 4th tier rewards in Legendary (Top 1000), not 3rd tier in Legendary (Top 100).
Top 100 for Legendary gets to be a steep climb that I don’t think is worth it, and probably would require a few Flasks at least.
Makes sense. Legendary tier 3 is definitely not an option for me. I just dont see how I’ll compete with 3 4* even with multiple flasks. Although I will say this, through 12 stages I have done pretty well and had 2 chests pop up.
I can agree with that for Grimforest, but for the others with mono red I use four 4* on my Legendary team, and have gotten into the 200s for ranking. So I don’t think it would be impossible for those.
Oh yeah I agree it can be done with red but not here. Well maybe with the right heroes but who knows. Maybe if my second grimm was fully emblemed too
I just finished my first run and played some of my obvious bad stages over and I’m currently at rank 400. I’ll keep an eye on it but I dont think it will be worth it to waste mats here shooting for top 100. Top 1K is fine by me.
Just a thought, but I wouldn’t necessarily omit Wilbur just because he’s red. I know it’s somewhat anecdotal, but I took Hawkmoon for the last stage of rare, despite there being two red bosses, and I finished it easily without her being in danger. Of course, if you’re competing, you’re probably stacking, and if you’re stacking, then you’re not stacking red for this challenge.
It’s an interesting thought, particularly for some Stages. Likely Wilbur would have to be fed Mana, since it’s hard to get a good run while charging two colors.
I’m actually experimenting with using something closer to my Epic team for Legendary now, so I don’t have two snipers. That helps with spreading out damage to finish off Bosses with Battle Items.
