Trying to compete in wonderland

For the later stages I tried a more counter-intuitive strategy: I almost only play the tiles, that DON’T match my colors, especially in the waves. That leads to nice cascades of my colors or to diamonds. Tried it 4-1 red, purple. In the boss stages it’s important to have Proteus up then (little mana pots were enough), so the bosses can’t gain mana. Without Proteus I play “normal” then. I think I was faster on the last levels than in the last events. On the first levels that doesn’t work because you need the tiles to kill the waves fast and it’s too slow to play around them waiting for cascades or diamonds.

There are various strategies to complete the events. Please mind the forum rules and have civil conversations when differing opinions are expressed. Thank you.

I don’t have Proteus yet, but I like the idea behind AngelofDark’s strategy. Thanks for help everybody. Mono does not seem to help in the early levels. I have beaten them all in 40 seconds now but barely increased my score. Guess I just need to get more chain reactions.

Or some chests.
Or really good boards, then you can get under 30 seconds…what is a really rare event for me

I have to say, for legendary 15 I needed 3 attempts and on the last one 5 dragons. The normal attacks of the bosses were too strong.

I’m currently in 61st (game name Bender) on rare – and looking over your scores against mine you have the most room for improvement on 3, 9, 10, 11, 12, and especially 13 – my 13 is 74,809 so I’d start there and work backward.

Okay, so let me see if I have this right. 4-1 or rainbow on early stages. After level 8, 3-2 always with Proteus? I assume you don’t take a healer? This is similar enough to my strategy and goals (get some stuff w/o spending much) that it is worth a try

Thanks bender! That’s incredibly helpful!

Of course I have a healer. BT, Wilbur, and Proteus are present at every stage. Keeping the bosses without their specials and under effect of Wilbur, all I have to do is to succeed good combos. Currently I’m in the first 200 at both, epic and legendary, and I didn’t even start to rerun missions. I do this in the last day (if necessary).

Huh. Okay, let me give it a try

Mini / medium mana pots as battle items help too, right?

I always find your advice helpful, thanks friend .

A lot. My strategy - charging Wilbur in the first second at every stage. Besides, mana is needed for Proteus too at hard stages. 2nd stage is cleaned (how the top players taught us) mostly with items (axes and bombs).

I know this is specific, but is there anyone that is rank 9000 to 10000 in RARE, that can tell me what their score master score is?

I’m rank around 20k naturally just playing each stage only once except for the first three, which is only because I’ve been farming the hell out of them for their low flag cost.

Just wanted to compare score to see if it would be a lot of effort to move up to top 10,000 rewards from the top 100,000.

I’d encourage you to also reach out to alliance mates.

@DaveCozy does great in rare challenges; ask him nicely

Could give you 7820, this will drop to 9000 I think…
I’m still not satisfied with lvl 7, dunno what’s wrong there…

So far i used only 6 flasks, did all the gem quests, item quest and even happen to have an ice elemental chest (farmed 8-7)
So totally possible for anyone.

I’ve yet to have time to compete this challenge event (due to personal life this weekend) but I did complete Legendary casually this morning. I doubt I’ll compete now since I’m busy today and tomorrow (and my red stack sucks anyways, needs more Namahage)

For high scores you stack Mono, and farm boards. Wait until you get the magical diamond combo that lets you complete the enemy wave in as little moves as possible, then hammer bosses with arrows, axes, and special skills (charged via mana pots).

I noted that a red stack is what you mostly want for all but a few stages for this event. The last stage, yellow or blue looks like a good stack.
