Tome drought. What am I doing wrong?

I have been playing this game for four years and have always had plenty of Tomes and Blades. Now - even though I have six Blades, I haven’t had a Tome for ages. I have seven Scopes - waiting to level up Esme and Bubbles, I have six Tonics - waiting to level up Athos, Archie, and Staintonge. I have seven Tabards - waiting to level up Ultox and Khepri. I have six rings but no reds worth leveling. I have 20 darts - waiting to level up Queen Guowang and Thunderclap. In total I have 37 heroes at 3/70. Grant it, most I will never level. But to have the amount of back up due solely to no Tomes seems strange.

Why have they dryed up? I watch as many Mystic Visions as I can and do ALL the events. I am an “A” or “B” on all our Titans. Short of buying them, which I will not do as a CTP who spent all her coin on Black Friday, where are they hiding at? It has been months and months since I have had one. Has the drop rate changed to force me to buy them? Anyone else having this difficulty? Do I just have zero luck in the men and Tome department?

Regardless, I can safely say it is frustration to spend money on Black Friday just to have all the heroes I got sit at 3/70 until they are no longer worth leveling. Time to go FTP?

I was afraid of that. Guess I will just live without. I do not understand their business model. They must depend totally on whales. As a CTP, they are doing things now that make me not spend at all. No only will I now not pull because I can’t ascend the heroes I have, but I have not spent for a pull since Black Friday because I only have two empty roster spaces. Soul Exchange needs to happen more often if they want those of us who buy enough to fill a roster, but don’t but enough gems to keep expanding the spaces. Oh well. They are what they are.

Like everything else getting tomes is streaky. I went through 2-3 years where I immediately used a tome as soon as I got one. Now I have a 4-5 tome surplus. Always double digit blades.

I have a surplus… but need blades. They have two because they know it creates a sense of want. Just keep playing. Tome will be in the next Farholm Pass Quest.

Similae to @Mikal , i have lots of tomes even from MV but only 1 damarcus blade left (i also lacked hidden blades for months)

I am seeing the same thing. I have not got a tome in over 6 months, and do everything your doing. I wont buy them either.

There are actually a few methods of balancing random behavior. I’d like to see a “wild card” 4* AM that could substitute for any of them. That would be used to balance out the uneven stacks.

I don’t think there’s anything you can do, other than just keep on trucking and hoping for good RNG, sadly!

Exactly this. It’s a bizzare business model that loses revenue opportunity because it disincentivises people to spend when it’s so unbalanced.

Keep hitting MV, it has been a decent source of 4* mats over the years. Maybe even a tome in there somewhere, I recall getting 1 or 2 from there.
