Ranvir – New June 2019 HOTM (Hero of the Month): First Thoughts & Discussion

Ranvir’s special suppose to work on allies as well, right? So, say, if I had Little John in a team, Ranvir’s special would work or not based on LJ’s health, not Ranvir’s health, when it is John’s turn to hit.

Yes, the health comparison is for each attacker and target, not Ranvir (except for his own buff on himself).

It can actually be a bit confusing in practice.

I’m not certain he’s a titan hero only, it’s not like he has a ton of downsides, he snipes (hits for around 500 on defense), and he keeps the threat of a massive hit alive for 5 turns but with a chance to miss, if the hero has lower health, everything is as normal, but if a hero has high health, that could very quickly change with one slash attack. I just battled a maxed one and I felt he was a target that needed to be dealt with. Ymmv.

If I get him he will surely improve my Aegir’s heals and my Evelyn could become a Kageburado on 3 targets when her ranger powers would proc.

Oh gosh that’s his lower half? I thought he was just wearing baggy pants XD

So are you saying that the “only applies when enemy has more health than the attacker” affects just the -35% accuracy and NOT the +195% attack?

The card says nothing about 50% health. It just states that the attack buff/accuracy debuff kicks in when the enemy has more health than the attacker, and titans will pretty much always have more health.

Are you saying that you already saw a Ranvir maxed at 4/80? Seriously? Ranvir has only been available for like few hours.

I’m interested in this clarification as well. It’s been asked at least 3x in this thread and it gets ignored each time.

Do both effects turn off? Or does only the accuracy turn off?

There a lame math post that suggests both turn off, but for those of us with poor reading comprehension like me, I’d appreciate some straight, clear information about how the special works.

I do not have him to say for sure, but the status effect is only one, like Wu Kong’s they are not separate. So it turns on and off, both the accuracy debuff and the attack buff.

I think the problem ist the word “applies”, which suggests it only refers to the accuracy debuff. If both effects are turned off, it should imo be “apply” to avoid misunderstandings (from my non-native point of view )

Or just finish the sentence after the accuracy debuff and start a new one with “This effect only applies …”

Or, perhaps just break it down into 2 sentences.

I believe they both turn off is why they are in the same sentence.

They could use “increased attack WITH decreased accuracy”. That would suggest they are always together.

Great! Now we have some say it does and some it doesn’t. I wish SG would just consider the audience when they write these things.

No, both apply or don’t apply together.

In German it gets even more confusing. a) they forgot the word “Genauigkeit” (accuracy) and b) they make it even more sound like it only refers to the accuracy debuff because of the pronoun “die” … @zephyr1 @Petri this should definitely be changed.

I don’t work for SGG, so I can’t do much about that directly, unfortunately.

I suggest posting a bug report in Bugs & Issues, and I can send the Staff a message to make sure they see it.
