Here 8s my blue team.
The only 5* I have is Obakan w/o costume. I have lots of barbarian emblems lying around. Alternative is to wait for dark ethers and limit break Cyprian. Should I max him and replace Cyprian or wair for better hero?

I have him with costume and is definitely much better than Cyprian and worth to max IF you have the costume. But without costume and unemblemed he is too squishy. Unless you have 1000 barbarian emblems that you do not really need for anyone else, I’d say to wait. Even with costume you really need a few hundred emblems to make him viable with teams 4400+.

If you have nobody else why not. I plan to max a copy of him as well. I strongly believe he can be useful with emblems.

That what I reckon. He has good attack stat plus they nerfed his special from 260 to 310. Plus he’s fast.

That’s what I think of him too. Just a small tip, we call a nerf when it’s a downgrade. Obakan’s special was increased, an upgrade, so it was a buff.

I have Obakan in costume at +20
And he stacks well
And works well in Double formation

Imo without costume i am not sure what to tell you as i had him leveled but never used him or put any emblems on him.
Got the costume, he is now plus 19 and a main stay on my purple stack. His attack all then the riposte on 3 fits very well with that team.
I think he is under rated for sure but then again i only use the costume in my purple mono and not at all for titans or anything else.

Obakan doesn’t get as much love as he deserves imo. Since he was balanced, in many cases I find him superior to Sartana. 1vs1 he does almost does as much damage and has the riposte as a bonus.

I have him at +20 because there are few good 5* barbarians. He is quite playable after the buff. I emblemed him on the attack path but gave one or two defense nodes too.
I would substitute Quintus with Oba. Quintus is only shining in VF wars or tournaments. If you have enough tiles with dark mono to trigger quintus special, you have already won. Oba is ready in 8 tiles, hits 3 and has a riposte. That can make a difference in tough fights.

Double formation or reverse double become useless with the newer release. Get that in mind

Yes I now know. I have just read it in the update and another thread.
I suppose that’s life in this game … you max out a hero, put a ton of emblems on them and maybe even LB the same hero - only for it to have a nerf …
What is good today may become mediocre tomorrow who knows anymore

I can believe in that. I’ve had Sartana at +20 for 2 years and she’s mediocre and keeps getting further mediocre everytime new purple heroes are released. Nowadays I find Oba more promising. I have finally pulled a better wizard to remove her those emblems and if I could get my tabards back I’d do. Hoping for her paid balance update someday. Oh I’ve meant costume.
