Next month I will run similar ones than the ones you mentioned, got Santa 3-60, red hood +13 (her minions take away time, not sure) for leg. Epic I could put in gormek, rare I got Rudolph, squire or a 4th namahage to be put in!?
Thx!
My only emblemed red 3stars, got a maxed unemblemed Chochin army too.
i wonder why not many use healers like boldtusk in challenge event, are the health points so few that it doesnt count when finishing with damaged heroes or do you bring heal potions?
20 coins 2 pulls
Hansel
Pixie. :).
Both are new to me
Maxed out pixie and used her on rare
I made it to titan flask range.
Now my next project is Hansel and Gretel
Me had Gretel somewhere hiding.
Me confused a bit how do I forgot to lvl up her.
Since i only have gormek maxed for red 4star i will probably stick with BT since he boosts everyone too. But point taken, maybe i take out bauchen for another namahage, but keep hawkmoon 2.0 for her att+
btw i love that wu/ranvir free guardians event, so i dont have to think about them
It definitely takes some practice to get a feel for pacing and damage. I test drove my Rare and Epic teams on Santaās Challenge before Grimforest started, so I could get a feel for their damage output and pacing, especially since they were new teams for me.
I also sometimes practice playing boards like I would during Challenge Events when Iām farming. Getting quicker at making good moves and setting up cascades helps too.
Iām actually far more haphazard with my item usage and play style than my alliance mate, @ProfLoki, who consistently outperforms me. But I still do well enough to hit the Loot Tiers I want, which is enough for me.
At this point I actually find it pretty easy to hit my marks, and almost always can improve my scores on a Stage with just a single rerun or two. And as I said in my post from months ago, if I canāt, I move on and work on something else. I think not getting stuck on a particular Stage over and over is an important component too, especially for not needing Flasks or farming a āperfectā board. Youāll get some great boards along the way, but the average ones are perfectly fine too for the Loot Tiers Iām aiming for.
Itās a totally different story if youāre going for the Top Loot Tiers, or to win.
Iām not, so itās a very moderate effort for me.
This is where having a feel for damage output and pacing helps.
Basically Iām deciding on the fly whether I want to use Battle Items or not, and if so, if I think theyāll be better spent on monsters or the bosses.
This is why I say Iām haphazard ā some people have a rigorous plan for which wave theyāll use Battle Items on. I donāt.
I do it based on my sense of the board, and the damage output Iām getting from tiles and Special Skills on that Stage. Itās hard to explain exactly how I decide, because Iām not super systematic. I just do what I think will work, and try to be decisive in the moment.
Here are examples of totally not-at-all awe inspiring first (and only) reruns of Rare 8 and 10, which I then left alone after this, and didnāt bother further improving my scores on:
And this was a first (and only) rerun of Rare 11 with a somewhat better board:
I donāt always record my runs, I happened to record these ones after someone had asked me about how I approach runs, though I didnāt end up posting them at the time.
These are good examples that it doesnāt take much to improve scores. All three of these were my first and only reruns of each of these Stages after completing a single run straight through on each Tier.
And if you watch, youāll see I make plenty of mistakes, and am not really that fast.
Oh, one other thing I started doing, that I remembered while watching these ā I count tiles, so I know how close to charged my Special Skills are.
I actually donāt even bother to look at what color the monsters and bosses are for each Stage once I set my team for a Challenge Event. I run each Stage blind.
Thatās reassuring. Your thought process is very similar to mine (counting tiles, āfeeling outā damage, etc.)
Thanks for the videos, too. One thing I noticed is that Iāve been running mana-mana-axe-arrow vs your health. I didnāt even think to heal up my dudes at the end. I bet it makes a huge difference, eh?
Very cool. Iāll tweak my process during Guardians and see what I can come up with.
I also havenāt done much with my troop. One is 7 and the others are probably unleveled. Any reason level 4 is what you brought all your troops up to?
For the millionth time, thanks for all of your help and also your dedication to this forum.
IME you donāt need mono for top few thousand. I swapped colors around in various 3-2 stacks for bosses due to not having strong mono teams yet and got into the top 5000
