Now that Noor has been released (I like her and slow heroes, but it’s not enough) I have decided to NOT summon during the Sand Event. So…no Roc (also fine but not enough to use EHT’s) or Rana. I’ve decided to go ahead with my current Holy heroes, as I’ll likely be waiting for another option for quite a while (no upcoming summon plans - maybe August Atlantis, then hold until winter event unless Halloween adds something incredible).
All of that means I should now decide between Malosi or a 2nd Joon (no costume). I have 14 or so Darts (not willing to max both due to D. Blade shortage). The issue is I do NOT have the yellow mana troop. So Malosi will be a very sad 7 tile charge for the foreseeable future. Neither would get emblems.
Either could sub in against Dark titans, taking Mist’s spot with Jackal, Joon, Leo, and WK. Beyond that I guess I’m mostly looking for war depth here. I think I know the right answer, but appreciate getting some other people’s thoughts!
I would do Mlosi if i were you. I mean , If you dont mind loosing some versatility to get pure fire power so go 2nd Joon. You know what he brings to the table, a powerful fast sniper that will bring you war deepth and lots of combinations alongside Jackal and Mist.
Malosi on the other hand will come in handy to cover more situations than a 2nd Joon. He doesnt hit like a truck , thats true , but is fire power what do you need? or a tactical hero that can shut some dangerous heroes down?.
Thats the main reason why i would choose Malosi over a 2nd Joon. Anyways they are excelent choices , you cannot go wrong. Its only about what you need at this point.
I would go Malosi as well. Sooner or later (hopefully sooner) you’ll get that mana troop. By then you may be in another tough spot who to choose, and you’ll already have Malosi ready to go.
I use him frequently with Jackal and Neith, both emblemed, (Malosi not emblemed and does fine) and quite frankly it’s one of my more confident teams for a win. Granted, I do have two lvl 11 mana troops and charging in 6 tiles for Jackal/Malosi is rather important.
I run 4-1 often too and Malosi gets the 1 spot half the time. I dont have Joon, wish I did. Regardless, I lean towards more interesting characters rather than snipers. And very fast mana is a huge selling point.
Another vote for Malosi here. I was missing a yellow mana troop for ages and understand your plight, but you never know when a token might bring you what you need. As soon as you get that troop Malosi is really in business.
I’ll join the cacophony of “Malosi” responses. I am still leveling mine, but still find him quite useful. While Joon hits harder, I think the other aspects of his special give Malosi the edge: he inhibits the target for casting status effects (very useful against Ursena) and he increases the critical chance for other yellows.
Even without a mana troop, he’s still going to fire one tile more quickly than will Joon.
Malosi is not the sturdiest, but since I am still leveling him, that may be my instance of him. But since his yellow bonus can’t be dispelled, if he can fire before he’s killed, he’ll still benefit his allies.
Thanks, everyone! It seems like we have a strong consensus, and Malosi is how I was leaning as well. I wasn’t sure how much to lower his value without the mana troop, as I have fought many (many) raids where a 6 tile Jackal could have administered a killing blow to Kunchen, only to watch Kunchen go off and then to have a bunch of other things go wrong in rapid succession.
Holy smokes. Thaaaaaatttt team is like a friggin bullet train from Japan. Shucks !! I know I should have summoned in April and used some of my hoarded EHTs, event, Atlantis and Valhalla coins. I didnt get Malosi with very very limited summoning attempts only in Masquerade for the whole month. I have 5 Jackals myself with only 3 maxed (2 of them emblemed) and I know Malosi would be a nice addition to my separate holy team due to his synergy with my Jackals.
Nah, if you have 4 Jackals, you’re rock’n the speed train already.
Malosi is a nice addition to mitigate some of the potential damage from the enemy but 4Jack+Wooly makes an almost equally awesome, low-resource (leveling/embleming) team that can face slap Telly tanks…
I guess I will have to level and ascend my 4th Jackal. Since S1 and S2 epic holy heroes are not that good, I was still trying to build up my 4 star yellow, currently maxing my 2nd Gretel (I still have a 3rd) and originally planned to work on my 2nd Mist, but I think this has urged me to max a 4th Jackal since I already have the healing sheep from Springvale maxed months ago.
WOW. That is very aggressive. I mean, I know you’re a huge mono advocate, whereas I seldom to never employ it, but that’s also way less healing and way less cleansing than I tend to bring in any fight, GTV or otherwise.
I had a similar dilemma. I have a spare Joon and 3 Malosis sitting on the bench. And the emblem problem.
I held off and received Poseidon from a token, super unexpected!
I would also go for Malosi, but I like variety. Giving rare materials to doubles is not interesting enough though it might oftentimes be a smart tactical decision.
