There appear to be no changes to Black Knight from his last-seen Beta stats, skill, and design.

Or: How many summons are needed to get a Challenge Event Hero?

Special thanks to @Garanwyn for assistance on summoning odds and proofreading for this section.

It’s important to remember that Challenge Event Heroes have EXTREMELY low summoning odds. No amount of summoning will guarantee a Challenge Event Hero.

On average, in a 10-pull, you have a 2% chance of summoning Black Knight.

But that statistic can lead our minds astray in exactly how our odds play out as we continue summoning.

Some useful insights:

  • 18 times out of 100, you’ll get Black Knight by pull 100
  • 63 times out of 100, you’ll get Black Knight by pull 500
  • 95 times out of 100, you’ll get Black Knight by pull 1500
  • 99 times out of 100, you’ll get Black Knight by pull 2300

Putting that in Perspective

  • 82 out of every 100 people won’t get Black Knight by the 100th pull

  • If 1 Million players each summoned 100 times, 820,000 of those players wouldn’t get Black Knight

  • 5 out of every 100 people won’t get Black Knight by the 1500th pull

  • If 1 Million players each summoned 1500 times, 50,000 of those players wouldn’t get Black Knight

More Insights & Reading

I highly recommend reading these two threads for more information and context on summoning odds:

If you’ve read them a million times before, you may consider reading them again before deciding on your budget for summoning. A little time spent deciding on how much money you want to risk on summoning goes a long way to avoiding disappointment, frustration, and regret later.

This thread is a great place to discuss anything and everything related to Black Knight.

Once those discussions have yielded notable insights, I encourage others to make reference guides in Player Guides that synopsize specific questions and answers about Black Knight.

Topics that are most appropriate for that are ones that players are likely to be searching for or wondering about in the future.

Creating a guide is a good way to make that information findable in the future without having to read through a ton of posts. You can make use of the Forum quote feature to avoid having to rewrite explanations that have already been well written.

He looks mighty interesting, he has a hilarious speech bubble that references Monty Python and he’d Fit nicely on my red stack.

I’ll never get lucky enough to pull him.

But I’ll still try.

Stupid question, but why red?
He looks kind of useful as tank, but red already has 9 A rated tanks, maybe Grazul will be nr.10, so why one more?

he looks really interesting as a tank or a support tank
ranking #1 in defense in the game so far
and #5 in total HP behind QoH, Horghall (1545) - Boss Wolf (1524), G.Owl (1483)
but he beats them all in defense

They had to choose between red and purple. My poor guess is they thought purple has already a very powerful tank (Kunchen) used by most alliances. Let’s see and red among wars within high league

P.S. Grazul is not great as tank, not even close. @KLinMayhem may confirm this :joy:

He is boldtusk, khiona and QOH on steroids.

what do you mean speech bubble?

This is from my posts about the Beta for Black Knight:

haha beautiful! I kinda want him just for that

I just tried it and the Knights face popped up but didn’t say anything

I’m sure you’re not alone in that. :slightly_smiling_face:

Just 2300 Summons and you’ll have a 99% chance of getting at least one Black Knight. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

It’s possible they’ve changed it since Beta.

Where did you try it?

I just pulled the knight, my first 5* since Quinevere last Avalon, lol. but I tried it at 8-7

Congrats!

So you saw his damage reduction proc, and there was no speech bubble?

No, his face just popped up and went back down

Interesting, I wonder if they’ve changed that since Beta, or if it’s a bug, or if it depends on what language you have the game set to.

Are you using English for your game language?

Yeah, english. but he still is 1/1 if that matters, idk it shouldn’t?

His percentage chance for the damage reduction is probably lower, but if you saw it proc, then that seems like it should be the same regardless, I would think.
