I said nothing about beta volunteers at all lol. The so called expert opinion board is the rah rah’we are the greatest!! what we say is THE LAW!!! crowd in the forums. Totally fair assessment as they all kept talking about how GOOD this guy will be after the nerf and line chat is lit up with nothing but complaints from the real board, you know, the gamers who keep seeing heroes that are most attainable due to odds for the lowest spenders out there. He is realeased and i dont know of any player gives two craps if they pull him or not.

However, this thread is about the hero as released and you are welcome to contribute to the polite discussion of his uses and limitations.
His uses so far has done anything other than tick people off. I havent seen a single thread where someone had anything good to say about him yet. Guy even said he Hope’s he pulls marjana from tc20 over this guy… that’s sad. There is nowhere this guy at only two turns makes anyone want to use him over the other options avaiable currently and being that he is an attacker that’s horrid. I still hold out hope for telluria at least her skill set is interchangeable with so many heroes in the game it will hopefully take away the sour taste this guy is leaving in people mouths.

Well, I have 9 rings, Marjana sit on 3.70 and hope to get JF in Avalon/Contume/Atlantis this month… well what should I do now

Wait till telluria comes out what everyone I know is saying. I can see a situation with her and onatel that could cause some major issues and change up some tactics but at no time does anything about this guys stats scare me.

@zephyr1 has there ever been an HoTM (kunchen perhaps?) where the initial reactions in these threads is that s/he is weak and undesirable, but proceeded to become a staple in people’s teams?
@jinbatsu will get both JF and Telluria. What he is confused of is who to ascend between his Marjana or his future JF.
I think @ExBatty do not consider Vlad as he is a 3* hero.

He is rolling in the event so his chances of landing a jf are high so I see his dilemma. I wont roll on Atlantis or the event this month as I will wait for next month when telluria is realeased. She is the first sought after hero for my playstyle since onatel. His is in a tough spot as the event has some good heroes in it.
I never seen downplay on kunchen a high defense high hp healer with full team defense down was a dream for a lot of people. His speed was the only thing in question but people with experience using slow heroes would know how to work around that and emblems helped him greatly become a staple. He got pretty positive reviews from my recollection

This is actually pretty close to the exact same review i gave in line i believe so definitely thinkin the same thing. Lookin at putting him in a 2nd red war team to avoid using greens vs gm and have a 2nd team that effectively counters finley wings, him and mits are really the only 2 finley counters we have that i can think of

I’m not really choosing gm over jf per se, but I’ve wanted gm for 2 yrs so if i get him I’d like to be able to max him asap. I will max him and jf though(if the RnGesus will bless me with both of course)
Gm brings something i don’t have in Reds = good damage at fast/v fast speed
My other maxed reds= grazul, zim, marjana, azlar, elena, mitsuko
Elena and azlar are nice but they’re finishers, not starters. They do well at finishing enemies off once they’re <50% health. They don’t help a ton in getting them there besides their super high tile damage(biggest reason i maxed both in the first place).
Zim is great utility, have no complaints but she doesnt fill the void i have in my red team right now
Marjana, i have emblemed to 19 and while good hero, she targets 1 and it’s a slow death unlike other snipers
Mitsuko, great utility and low damage
Basically i see a need for another red utility(jf) in my lineups, he’ll take the place of having a 2nd zim and 2nd mits in my 2nd red team. I figure with jf i can use the small dot and survivability to work the opposing team down to kill range by the time i fire elena or azlar(havent decided)
Gm will work with marjana in team 1. Gm to mow down the front 3, marjana bigger dot and initial damage to keep a cap on the wing heroes(mainly the rez heroes)
Anyways long story short i do plan on maxing both. I just want to max gm first if i get him as he would impact team 1 more than jf would
Spent $1k+ so far on just gm with no luck, i wont be droppin a ton for him but yea…after that type of chase and a wait that long i want him maxed and max emblemed within an hour of reception(of course emblems will take a bit since i dont buy resources)

I remember reading Kunchen thread and he got trashed that Jackal will simply destroy him.
Because of that I ended up skipping Atlantis pull in late February to wait for Frida instead at 1 March (last year atlantis overlap in February/March).
A fair number of people thought Gravemaker was undesirable before and shortly after release.
This thread got enough attention that it caused a parody: I think Kunchen is not good so I fed him to Rigard. Thoughts? (Parody: I think Ranvir is not good so I fed him to Li Xiu. Thoughts?)
Miki had a ton of detractors before and shortly after release…until people started seeing the Titan scores people were putting up with him.
Frida was initially criticized a lot for being Average instead of Fast like Evelyn.
So yes, there have certainly been cases where there were negative reactions to a HOTM upon release, who most people would probably regard as being strong heroes now.
