He seems so niche, but I could use Anzogh on my red war team… Marjana seems better overall and might get a costume at some point.

I don’t have Anzogh but I do have Marjana, give her the rings and you won’t regret it.
I gave rings to anzogh and hardly use him. Very disappointing HoTM
I find anzogh a menace in raids, marjana’s hits are ok, but they never worry me! I have both at 3/70 anzogh will come be marjana for me
Just give them to Anzogh as you like!! Fire BT, Wilbur, Falcon Guardian, ANZOGH and Azlar = KO

Marjana is better for titans, but her burn and GM’s burn will override, so make sure you hit them in the correct order of potency if you use both.
I have both maxed and use Marjana far more as she is more versatile than Anzogh but both are good worthy heroes.
In offense although neither realy worry me at all, Marjana is tougher and more of a concern than Anzogh for me as her hits can do far more damage and remove still strong attachers where as Anz will do minor damage compared to an instant kill.
So my vote here is for Marjana hands down.
I vote Anzogh because you already have GM. You will rarely ever want both GM and Marj in the same team, since their burns overwrite each other, but Anz is pretty nice teamed with GM.
Besides the other arguments for Anzogh I’ll note that I only saw Viv as a healer. I’m sure you have some 4* healers stashed away, but 5* healers are very nice to have.
I have both Viv and Anzogh maxed (also Marjana as an FYI) and I’d use Anzogh before Viv. If you can get Viv going - she’s great. But the problem is getting her charged before she dies. Anzogh fires faster so is more useful IMO.
I’d also pick Anzogh over Marjana based on what others have said. You already have GM and they don’t always play nice together.
Marjana is the only red 5* sniper, has a decent class with rogue, and boldtusk can work as a healer just about as good as anozgh can, in offense anyways. Plus you already have the best red AoE in the game but no sniper
If you have Wilbur, then Wilbur+Zimkitha/Boldtusk+Anzogh packs quite a punch… I use him regularly in my red war team and is always devastating. Also, worth mentioning that unlike most other wizards, he does hits all so his wizard skill does come in handy for extra damage. If you use Wilbur before him, then the enemies already get a spirit link buff, apart from any other buffs they might already have, and thus his talent has a good chance of firing too to cause even more damage and thus heals your teams more. I really like him, he is a solid hero.

I had the same question a few months ago (though it was for my first 5* red I was maxing) and I chose Anzogh. I found his heal helped when paired with a slow healer (like Vivica). It also helps when farming/doing easy quests that I never need a healer. His attack was slightly better which I wanted since I was replacing my +18 Scarlett (895 attack before troops). Pairing him with Wilbur, Colen, and Boldtusk on my primary red war team destroys and even without boldtusk I would be healing a lot.
I ended up also maxing Marjana and do use them both in wars/trials quests. But as others said, you have gravemaker and her and his burns would compete which is exactly why I don’t use her on my main red war team since her and Colen would compete.
Both are great options overall but you have a red sniper (that burns) so I would go with Anzogh first.
Let me just also add that Anzogh’s heal has saved me multiple times in raids when either vivica had died or has not been able to charge up yet.
Yeah I have a Jackal at +18, but haven’t used my other Rogue emblems. Right now I’m using Wizard emblems on Kiril and have Merlin at +18 (though I’m not sure I need to keep them there, I don’t use him much)

That’s my fear - burn them on Anzogh and then just watch him sit the bench except for war. I’d think I would use Marjana more on raids…

I had to decide to give rings to Anzogh, Red Hood or Marjana… Decided for Anzogh and do not regret it at all… Having BT+18, Wilbur+18, Falcon+18, their synergy is great…Used Anzogh not only in raids, I finished Avalon & Pirates Legendary last stage using that team and was really effective (and actually pretty easy) .also beat Ursena hard mode…
Most opinions that consider any hero a waste are based mainly in the perception of what that hero could perform by itself ALONE… . but since you have to take 5 heroes in ANY scenario, the synergy you can get between those 5 heroes must be a key factor to be considered… Most people raid using 3-2 or even mono color… so synergy is extremely important…
You must base decision according to your current bench and what are your preferences in raiding and completing events…in that matter based in the heroes you already have maxed what of the choices you are considering could bring more value to your roster and your play style? … answering that question could help u for final decision…
You do seem to be lacking in Rogues and Wizards (at the 5* level anyways) for class quests, so either one would be useful for those purposes.
Also having Gravemaker also means that Marjana wouldn’t get used as much.
