Heimdallr or Guinevere? Or both? And other questions

Just pulled my first Heimdallr, in this Valhalla episode – interestingly, as I am working on maxing Mother North.

I also have Guinevere.

A. Is Guin still the preferred tank? I feel like she’s been kind of figured out lately.

B. What do you think about pairing Heimdallr and Guin? If you would do it, when would you do it?

C. I have the capability of a defense team of Mother North, Ariel, Guin, Heimy and Aegir. Would you find that formidable? I always struggle with how much emphasis on hitting back a defense team should have – historically I’ve found that heavy strength and defense but with little punch doesn’t fare as well.

A. Guin hasn’t been the preferred tank of the two in a long time. Shame, because I just got here in the last Avalon event after really wanting her 2+ years ago. Lol. If I had Heimdall, I would focus on him over Guin.

B. They don’t exactly work with each other, but they could be formidable together on a defense team. That being said…

C. I really don’t think 5 healer/resurrect type heroes on one defense team is a good idea. You need some offense besides regular damage. Ariel would certainly help with the slow speeds of MN, Guin and Heimdall but that’s just way too much healing, imo.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do!

I raid consistently in the 2450 - 2700 cup range, and I don’t remember the last time I saw Guin, as a tank, in a raid tournament, in a war defense… anywhere. She was already losing her edge, but now C. Sabina is an easily obtainable dang-near perfect counter for her.

As I said, I probably wouldn’t rate Guin too highly these days, but Heimdall is a man-child. I love mine. Recommend you attend to him ASAP.

I feel like most folks would pick apart a defense like that. Simply not enough firepower. Again, someone like C. Sabina can negate a heck of a lot of what that team does by herself. The way you attack that defense is to bring dispelling, just enough healing to stay afloat - which isn’t difficult, since you’d literally only have to deal with slash attacks - and a pot load of fast snipers. Take your time charging all your snipers, dispel Aegir’s spirit link if necessary, pick your favorite target, blast them to oblivion, and repeat. Could take a while (or not) but I don’t think too many folks would fear that D. Not that any of those are bad heroes; they just don’t work well together. I’m F2P, and I think I could put together at least a mono green or mono purple team that could take this defense apart. And the mono purple team I’m thinking of would be all S1 heroes, albeit some with costumes.
